I agree with wolf. This guy is just trying to get some testimonials for his site so he can promote his e-book. People should save their money for food and gym membership and read the threads in the vault.

I agree it's sad that so few people follow EFFORTs' threads... For some reason people want to do what other people do(herd mentality), like the DJ Bootcamp.. When someone starts it, people who would otherwise sit on the sidelines start doing it. It's the same with working out...

People can be brought around to correct training principles and solid dieting once they've been under the barbell for a few months.. Personally I think putting someone on a strength-oriented program in their first 6-8 weeks is silly anyways.

It takes iron will and dedication to do this sh1t alone, and if what this dude is doing gets people into the gym, then bottom line is it's good.

I just don't think it's a good idea to have newbies starting off with bad training principles when we have an excellent program under in the vault i.e. "where to start." We have a whole bunch of guys thinking this is going to be some quick fix. This guy isn't going to be around to help once his site fails, and everyone following his program will be lost and confused.

The fastest way to build work capacity for a strength training program is strength training.

I'm just sad to see EFFORT's program abandoned. When he helps modivated guys just because he wants to help, not because he's trying to attract people to he business.
Don't worry man. This new fad will be over before you know it. And when it is over, all those guys will come back going, "Help! Injured my _____" or "Help! How do I lose all this fat?" or "Help! My bench is stuck at ____"

And it's really tragic to see a moderator sticky this convoluted piece of crap of training. I wouldn't be surprised if this place turns quickly into bodybuilding.com version 2.0.

As much as I agree with you wolf...I also agree with Quik. It's getting guys in the gym. I hoping that these guys do stick in there for 15 weeks and make some progress. It's hard to motivate yourself sometimes so the herd mentality really helps these guys. He has them deadlifting, squatting, benching...which is good. Diet ideas are okay although I REALLY disagree with the ideas behind being on a low fat diet when clean bulking. Also the idea of a 4-day split is just annoying and unneeded especially for beginners.

I wish everyone the best here and hopefully after they are done they hit the starting threads by EFFORT, IA.com, or go on some sort of strength program such as Rippetoe.

Some people are so sensitive.

Who cares if people get themselves to the gym or not and do the right things?

Why do you want to HELP people to do what they don't want to do? If they're not asking for it, why try to convince someone?

If you are a fat slob or a skinny weakling then it's up to you to do something about it. Why would anyone else want to swoop in and convince you that sucking is bad?

I just can't wrap my head around it because whenever i suck at something that matters i go and try to fix things. On my own. Without being a wuss. Even though i don't want to in the short term.

Yeah once they ask but no one cares about the dogma people try to force at them until they ask for it.

Yes it will. It is not an either/or proposition (mutual exclusion). It can do both at once. The question is the ratio.

Oh good, the board was getting boring lately.

There is nothing wrong with helping to motivate others Ruckus. Some of us need a big push, others small, some need none and they do it all themselves. I know what your talking about. I think a lot of people clicking on this thread have in mind to change themself...but they don't know how or lack motivation.

I don't know if you are directing this at me, but I am NOT trying to force people into working out because I think they need to...absolutely not, that's horrible thing to do. People should not be playing elitist on here and I'm happy to say I don't really ever see anyone doing that. If people want to change and come post on here, people on here should just hand the keys and help along when asked. I would love to see everyone achieve their goals. I am all for one helping themselves first, and not relying solely on others. That just ends in failure.

To be honest, I don't even know if anyone is still even doing this thread!
