LS style responses are very similar to what you may be confronted with in the real world. It may be useful to explore and frame the arguments here. Interesting at least.

True. Yes it was interesting and I did my fair share of argument. Even went to loveshack and posted defending SS.

BUT--after a few days of arguing back and forth with these ladies, it reminds me to make sure I never follow the urge to justify or explain myself to a woman.

chick: "That site is full of woman-bashing and guys who say that women have nothing of value to say when it comes to giving men advice on relationships. I find it offensive and evolutionarily backwards and----

reset: "It's a guy thing, I don't expect you to understand. Give me a back-rub".

(dramatic pause) "wait how do you know what message boards I'm visiting?".

Maybe generalization is not what I am thinking of, but I am talking about those who think that their advice is right and that everyone elses is incorrect and/or inferior to theirs.

I read alot of "all women/men are this" or "most women/men are that."

Thats a huge difference from "most of the women/men that I have dealt with are this or that".

I think all women are all that but only some men are all that.

Honestly, not sure. I completely have agreed with brother McAvoy here. I don't see what good it did to go busting over there. Two completely different sites "marketed" at a different audience. I don't think many people would be open to both. You either relate more to one or to the other, with a few exceptions of course.

If an intelligent dialogue/understanding can come from all of this, well I would applaud that. But in the end, I don't see that anyone's firm positions will be changed. I really don't.

I can scream from the rooftops how I know what I want and I got it. I can insist that rudeness doesn't "work" for me, etc. etc. etc. I probably won't be believed. And I probably won't be believed when I say that most of the "techniques" here would only work on someone quite young...under 25 for the most part. In the end, though the tricks will backfire.

Our two sites do espouse self-empowerment. I do see a lot of "playing the victim" though here...although I've seen it on LS too.

Anyway, good question. And I'm really not sure I answered it but it's food for further thought.

I'd like to make another point here too. What many of you may not know is that women go through a lot of the same BS that you guys do.

If we're too nice, we're screwed. Men love bytches after all. You don't want the "nice girls." You crap all over them. I should know...it's only after I turned into a bytch that I started getting the respect I was after. I played a lot of the same games you guys do. Sure it works for awhile but then it always get ugly...always. No ifs ands or buts about it.

You'll see.

The trick is finding a balance between the nice guy many of you probably are, and standing up for yourselves when you need to. Do that, and you'll have the best chance at getting what you want...in all areas of your life.

And that applies to both men AND women.

You're funny Mac! Well, I'll say this..you rule in emoticon variety and less restrictive moderation. I do like that. But I still prefer LS for the variety of different viewpoints from both sexes.

I do like your sig. Its probably one of the best that I have seen.

You have to remember that I am less than a week old on this message board and I have no idea who any of you are yet.

Everyone can perceive things differently on an internet message board because you don't have facial expressions or tone of voice to go by.
