Hello all, just one more contraversial rant I have to get off my chest before I go to bed.

Just for a disclaimer, I am white, of Italian and Lebanese descent.

My father is from Europe.

When I was brought up, I was taught by my dad to be tough, but to also have class; dress well, don't take crap from women, etc. etc.

My father also observed how pathetic American (mainly white) men are. They can't even dress remotely descent, their wives boss them around and buy their clothes for them. Their wives boss them around the store, call them five times a day. Then when these guys are out, they have to check in with the wife like some sort of prisoner or probation.

What the F happened over the past 30 years? Too many of these dudes must grow up watching Oprah and crap. Unbelievable. I was in the mall the other day, the Banana Republic, and this crusty white dude was with his wife. She was picking out the clothes and asked him what he thought, "Well. whatever you think is good honey". Pathetic.

Almost all of my white friends are Major AFC's. My latino friends know about the game. Forget about the married guys; most of them settle for some dog, that bosses them around, and they even admit to me that they do whatever she tells them to.

I explain there the feminization of the male and the 'agenda' at work for the last 30 years by the 'unnatural' (hors, homos, feminists) forces at work! Their 'agenda' is to make the male look weak and the female look strong for the purpose of making their 'life/deathstyle' acceptable to the masses and how this has been done through the mass media, over 30 years!

I think it's a valid statement

While I will ignore a lot of things that go on regarding women and stay cool about a lot of things, the pu-syfication of the American male is something I'm adamanet about.

Great stuff about Am. men being pushed (or pu-ssied) around the store, etc.

Saw a huge billboard just off to the side of the West Seattle Freeway for Dodge trucks that said, "More reliable than most husbands."

Screw that!!

Not only that, how many women are going to buy Dodge trucks anyway. Who is their target audience?

The advertising exec who thought it up was probably a woman trying to pussify the American male.

Anyways, I used to work at a grocery store. I noticed one particular incident of this outside the store, when I was getting shopping carts from the parking lot. Some guy and his wife were getting into a car, his wife was hassling him for who knows what, and then the guy's only response is "derr, I took da trash out today dear". That was the only time I ever noticed it, but almost all of the shoppers at the store were Mexican as well.

Great example Westcoaster - I've seen hundreds of ads like this over 20 years and I know it is because those behind the message are pushing an agenda, and are usually females or weak men.

Clooney, most men under 35 think and behave the way they do because of the messages that have bee forced upon them for over 20 years - especally in this 'made-for-tv generation! Fads, trends, thinking, behaior are heavily influenced by those in the mass media. The execs know this otherwise y advertise if there is no impact? Huh?

Young men and women today have been devestated by these messages, especially when it comes to relationships. I put this as the number one influence on affecting the thinking of the masses!

Hey no need to be sorry man. You have you opinion, I will have mine. I too want society to be a better place, but I am in no position to change it so I am not going to worry. Maybe one day if I am in the position, I will do my part to make society better as a whole, however that may be.

Sadly enough, it´s not only an american phenomenon, but I´ve noticed the same thing going on in other western/westernized countries aswell!!

I think it´s all about this so called equality which as an idea has gone way too far!

However, there is a good thing about it, too. It´s so easy to get the women cause most of the other guys are such losers.

Bad things more - I think there are a lot of problems in the society caused by men being such losers and women bossing around.

Even in the sitcoms. Hetero men are protrayed as fumbling bumblin idiots that cannot possibly take care of themselves. They eat food out of a can, wear the same shirt every day, the apartment is a dump, etc. etc. All the women in the shows start telling the guy what to do like she is his mother or something. Shows like:

Friends
Yes Ma'm (Are you kidding me?)
King of Queens
Malcolm in the Middle (hubby a complete doofus)

Even on the L Word, a lesbian show, the only hetero couple, the dude is a complete jealous frustrated moron.

Commercials are no better. That list would be too long to post here.

You know the most ironic thing? Most of the people who would disagree with us adamately or write this argument off are other men.

If my father saw me supplicating to a woman, he told me he would beat the living shvt out of me. He always tells me; becareful of women, they try to condition you. I used to always think he was just paranoid or bitter or old-fashioned. Now I see what he means.

In case you haven't guessed, my dad wears the pants in his marriage.

Ok everyone; there is a simple solution to most of your frustration here:

STOP WATCHING TV

The TV execs are pushing just one agenda: making money. They sell what they do because it makes them money. If westerns with rugged men made them money you'd see a bunch of them on TV. If homicidal clowns were in you'd see "Bumpo the Balloon-Animal Slayer" on TV. "Everyone loves Gaymond" wouldn't be on TV if there was no market to sell it to.

Women now make up a majority of the population; the CIA world factbook reports that there are now .97 males for every female. Is it any surprise that TV programming caters to the MAJORITY audience? Why do you think there are so few “black” shows on TV? Because blacks make up a small % of the American population, there just isn’t a big enough fan base to support many shows.

Those bumbling guys on those shows are what women really think of us.

I don't know why turning off the boob tube is so difficult for everyone, it's not like you have to watch. Besides watching the occasional news program (I usually just read the news online) I watch two (count 'em TWO) hours of tv a week. The only other time the TV is on is if I'm using my Xbox or I'm watching a DVD.

If everyone who whined about how bad TV is actually stopped watching it, or severely limited their viewing, one of two things would happen: either TV would die out as a fad or programming would get a lot better to bring viewers back.

The solution isn't difficult: stop *****ing like a woman and turn off your TV.

That naive and will not happen. People will always watch TV and agendas will always be pushed. Just as many men watch TV as women. Simply tuning out is good for an individual, but won't stop anything.

The reason why people should be concerned (not paranoid, bitter or whiney) about the trend is because it effects all of us everyday. The interactions we have with friends and family; the AFC guys who try to interfear with your game, ****block and give women the impression that all men are wimps. It effects us when a friend in an LTR or marriage won't stop whining to you about how his SO is bossy and doing everything she says. It effects us at the dinner table when wimps are ceeding the fact that woman are always in charge...yadda yadda. When I argue against it, I am just outnumbered.

It also effects us when some women immediately assume that they can boss you around, and that you are one of those AFC's, then when you combat it, she thinks your "playing games".

But its not all bad. The major silver lining in all of it is, that many women are frustrated in a BIG way about men and how they are all whiny, have no backbone or are just coward jerks. This is where we can capitalize.

This isn´t about watching tv.. I think that Genghis Juan just mentioned that it goes on in tv aswell. TV shows -and anything people create- are a reflection of the real world.

I don´t know about you americanos, how much do you watch tv? I watch tv usually less than two hours per week - only if there are good movies played, or if I rent one.

I agree with you, Short Timer, many people watch too much tv! But the problem that khan mentioned is very real, not only in tv.

And you can be sure that if it's true for the UK, it'll be doubly true for the US. We get everything you do, only five years later and half the size.
Once you recognise this, you can then be certain that programme makers and advertisers are targetting and appealing to women more than men. That's why the programmes are the way they are. TV is entertainment for women. Which explains everything.

I feel bad for teens

When you're a teen or in your early 20's you often don't know better. Society hands you a helping and you eat it up.

Look at all the young 20's on this board. Despite the DJ Bible right there for the reading, despite pleas from older folk like me who used to be big time AFCs, they will NOT walk away from a gal, they will beg for her attention, they will not do anything DJ, or they will explode with their temper.

They don't know any better because society has told them otherwise.

The most humorous post was one where a guy said our whole lives are revolved around impressing women from the moment we wake up till we go to bed. What a sad AFC state he is in! I wake up and do what I want to do, period.

Where did they learn these messages? TV and society.

It's gone way beyond equal rights, which I actually support. The 100 percent agenda is to pussify men and make them weak.

Wow. This thread is a keeper. Even though I'm not American, this stuff is spot on. I notice it in the big cities in Canada, not so much with the men who live in the countryside, but the large metropolitan areas definately. The French guys aren't really as pussified as the Anglos. I actually admire my Italian friends though, they still have their cajones.

Think about it. 30 years. All those women liber's of the 60s & 70's are raising thier little boys. How do you think they'll turn out? Half with out fathers.

You underestimate the power of the mass media (TV, Radio, Music, Print) and the messages those, who control the media, outlets are imparting. There is an agenda at work here and it has nothing to do with an individual, it is societal!

I watch TV mainly to see what messages that they are conveying to our youth, and what fad or trend is on the horizon -- and then I ask myself, "Why?"

I also look at political commentary or news in the same way! I ask myself "Who (individuals or groups) is behind the message?" And "what is their agenda?" And "Why?".

If you watch TV for this purpose and not solely for entertainment, your mind will be awakened and your understanding of why things are the way they are would become clear!!
