For those who have followed him closely it's incredibly self-evidence that his wife Nia is behind this. Many people suspect she has him completely wrapped around her finger now. But a lot of his more casual fans seem to be unaware or in denial of this.

In one of his comedy specials, he specifically talked about his very young daughter realizing her dad had some problem with being angry, and how much that hurt him. His mellowing tracks more with that story, and his daughter's age, than with his 13+ year marriage.

Fatherhood tends to make men more mature. His wife has no problem with his anger issues, because she knows he's harmless, but for children his volatile behaviour might be unnerving.
Worst thing for most women is a man who is not in control of his emotions. Bill seems to understand that now and has become more sensitive to providing a role model for his kid.
