I'm not sure how many of you have had this checked, but you know if 527 is good? It says it's in normal range, but I'm 43 and you know dudes start losing muscle and getting fat around this time.

There is a large difference between normal and optimal which is what most doctors don't understand.

527 is middle of the road. 800-900 is a good optimal place to get to.

Are you coming out of a sedentary state? If you are that's about spot on, you'd want your test ideally over 600 if your active. The good news is that you are fat. Fat converts testosterone to estrogen, so you will literally raise your free testosterone level by removing your bodyfat.... FYI. Some of it will be resistant if it's been there for some years, but you can kick it's ass over time and it will strip off.

Not really fat, just not in ideal shape. I gained 30lb in the last year, so I got that to burn off.

I'm a little bit above that level, 580 if I recall correctly from my last check and I can tell you that while nothing is broken, thats far from ideal.

I'm also looking for ways to raise it, I mean Im strong at the gym and look much more manlier than most men around but still it seems to me we're far from top performance.

If I have to be honest I'm not even sure I could go for round two at bed within 15 minutes with a woman.

They suggest the healthy range to be between 160 and 750ng/dl but I strongly call bullsh1t on that...anyone below 300 would be miserable and no one reasonably above 750 would get sick.

That's fat... It's literally a man boob. We should be 10% or so and if you are a high performance athelete down 6-8%.

I bet if you get down to where you have abs and are doing workouts 5 days a week with squats and good nutrition including good protein and good fats your test levels will be in the 700 range, which is very good!

Total testosterone levels do not mean much without context. Mine is currently over 1400 ng/dL but my Free T isn't too high, and my prolactin, E2, and SHBG are high so it kind of balances out. Free T is the critical factor, but is very difficult to measure accurately since most labs don't do it correctly.

You need to see a specialist (endocrinologist, urologist) or good clinic like Marek Health or Defy if you want to know the state of your hormone balance.

Do you have any symptoms of low T? If the answer is yes, then it doesn't really matter what the bloodwork says to some degree. Subjectivity is really the most important thing to consider.

I'm curious what will happen with your T level when you get prolactin and E2 to drop.

That's because they lowered what is considered "normal" due to all the men having such low numbers a few years ago. Used to be 300-1100.

Now they want to get people to believe this is how things should be..I was at 150 prior to starting TRT and I can promise you, you never want to be at that level.

It's a disgrace and the medical community should be ashamed at how they prioritize women's health as they age versus men's health.

As long as you don't drop E too low. The ingenious part of how the body works is that estrogen is required to repair the testosterone receptors. Too low and you'll have to take more and more test to get the same results due to receptors that are continually degrading.

Not to mention your joints will feel like you are 90 years old and it's not good for heart health either.

Agreed, it is free testosterone that is important. Only free(not bound by shbg) test will have an effect in your body.

150? damn it had to be a curse...sometime even at my levels I feel lazy and unmotivated, I really miss the charge from my 20s.

Did you have morning woods at those levels? libido and energy?
