I was wondering if anyone had any experience with doing subway pickups. I've done one before and it went well, but I didn't number close. I was bored today so I went riding around the subway and it seems like a goldmine. There are always tons of hot, young, professional chicks waiting for trains and they are usually alone. Anybody have any experience or any suggestions for good lines?

That's some extrememly sketchy shyt mang. I mean, think about it from a woman's perspective. I often find that that's the best way to gauge how a woman might react.

Often, subways are depicted as dangerous places where only the lowest of the low congregate. Despite the slight exaggerations on TV and in the movies, the women have good reason to be on their toes. I think that unless you are absolutely gorgeous (and women just canNOT ignore your sexy presence), this is a bad idea. I just tried to imagine myself as a hot chick in the subway, and the thought of an average looking Joe spitting condescendingly clever lines at me on a subway platform made my skin crawl. :D

Where the hell do you live??? In DC, traffic is a nightmare so everyone and their mom uses the subway. It doesn't mean you don't have a car here. You could see someone who makes 6 figures riding the subway easily because nobody wants to deal with traffic.

Oh to give a not so funny answer.

I have ridden that EL in Chicago. And when I ride that, I generally have noticed people don't talk to each other much. I talked to a girl I was with and her friend, but pretty much everyone else was quiet on their way to work. Kind of interesting.

So if you are going to pick up, you will have tons of people dipping in on your convo. Which is something I have always hated. I hate performing with an audience.

Yeah, I don't like the audience thing either, but I think most people on the subway would secretly love to talk to someone. They're all bored, either pretending they are interested in looking out the window, pretending they are interested in staring at the floor, or pretending they are interested in reviewing the work assignment they've read 5000 times already. Everyone is so freaking socially inhibited, but I've found you can get them to open up.

Public transit pick ups are hard, you have to work fast.... sit right next to her; eye contact smile right away, say hello introduce yourself; chit chat, then say listen I was wondering its a little out of the ordinary but since I may never see you again can I interest you in a coming out for a coffee with me sometime, etc... do you have a # where I can reech you? :)

At this point you probably have a woman (or multiple women) chasing you around, calling you all the time, wanting to be with you. So let's talk about how to KEEP a woman interested in you once you have her. This is BIG! There is nothing worse than getting dumped by a woman that you really, really like.

I just thought of this for those who ride public transporation for work. People are creatures of habit, so you do have a decent chance of seeing the same people around the same time everyday for work.

Good luck all. I'd love to live in Chicago sometime.

Ya, DC is where all types of people ride the metro (subway) to go to work and other places (Crystal City, Pentagon City). Every city or state isn't alike, riding the metro here in the DC area doesn't give a clue to your social satus.

since i have become a student of dj'ism, i would say that 80% of the numbers i have got have been on the toronto transit system. i have FAR more success there than anywhere else.

there r tonnes of university girls taking it. i ussually start with a funny observation on the moment (ie - if they have a big bag i ask them if they r running away from home - always gets a laugh).

all that is easy, but what's hard is if she rejects you then you are sort of forced to sit next to her until one of you gets off.

Tao of Steve,

Great to hear that you have success on the subway! Do you have any specific examples of how your game works? I have a thread in the Tips forum (http://www.sosuave.com/vBulletin/showthread.php?s=&threadid=44328) that is my theory on pickups and I think its specifically applicable to subway PUs. Let me know what you think.

BMW,

That's easy. Just wait until you are about to get off before you ask for her number! On a subway PU I did about a month ago, the convo went dry too early so I didn't close so one guy recommended that I ask for the number earlier and just get off at an earlier stop. At first I though it's no good to modify your life to get a chick's number, but now that I think about it, it is probably good advice until you learn how to become a better conversationalist. If she rejects the opportunity to even talk to you, then who really cares, she's a *****...not like you have to save face there. Read my thread that I told Tao about too...I think it works well for subway PUs.

I really want to start utilizing subway PUs frequently, but unfortunately I have no need to use the subway that often. When I graduate college and get a job, I'll probably use it a lot.

If you want to talk, talk to your friends. If you want a girl to like you, listen to her, ask questions, and act like you are on the edge of your seat.

One on one, subway is a little niche of mine.

Find a girl sitting on a bench at your station. Be relaxed and sexual, get EC, get close to her, open.

Or if you don't get EC, sit next to her. Wait a few seconds while you check something in your pocket, then open her on some random ****.

On the subway- standing targets are OK.
Do what you'd normally do.

Sitting targets- I only go for ones right next to me. If I get EC, I approach girls a few seats down.

I open almost alway with, "hey, how're you doing?" Once with, "hey, it looks like your biting your knuckles."

My suggestion to you is to just do it. No one really pays attention to you on the subway anyway. It'll be totally cool. I've never had a girl go mad for me talking to her on the subway.

epitome.

It is kind of awkward to sit next to a chick who just shot you down. I have never did a subway pickup, but one time I was on the train, and this guy who was by himself was sitting next to some girls.

He was hilarious, and was just talking to everybody!

He was saying stuff like "Yea my usual routine is to do 2 lines of coke, drink some coffee then shoot straight to work!"

then he kept asking the women "hey ! you want to kiss me dont you?"

then he got one of the girls to peck him on the cheek.

He just kept talking and being funny, and everyone on the train was laughing, even the girls. He wasnt very good looking, but seemed to have a knack for conversation, being funny, and just keeping people entertained on a boring train ride.

I think if you look "thugish" subways wouldnt be a good place for Pickups, but if you are dressed nice, confident and funny, you can easily score #'s

subways are gold mines. there are lots of girls. they are usually sitting/standing doing nothing - it is like fish in a barell.

there r different ways to approach:

for the newbies:

- ask vauge directions, ie: im trying to get to (some big place everyone knows) they'll tell u where: u: so have u been there: what do u think etc.

or after she give u directions: so where r u from/going etc.

or:

a little smile after EC, and say: u look bored, what's wrong, not having fun?

if they have a big bag, ask if there running away.

talk for 2 minutes, be c and f, act like its no bid deal - then say, u should give me your number, i'll call u.

if they are in pairs or groups:

hey, r u guys sisters (especially if they look really different)

- they will look at each other and giggle and say no.

then tease them a bit, ask which one is the trouble maker.

i was told a few times by girls i met like this, how immpressed they were that i was s sociable and outgoing, and directed the conversation. u give yourself great proof.

perfect for sarging, u can spend all saturday afternoon on the subway line, great practice.

Don't do pick ups in subways, you will only come across as DESPERATE. It is just not the right environment for picking someone up

It doesn't matter how good-looking you are, how romantic you are, how funny you are... or anything else. If she doesn't have something INVESTED in you and the relationship, preferably quite a LOT invested, she'll dump you, without even the slightest hesitation, as soon as someone a little more "interesting" comes along.
