http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wechsler_Adult_Intelligence_Scale

The median full-scale IQ is centered at 100[2], with a standard deviation of 15. In a normal distribution this IQ range (1σ above and below the mean - that is, between 85 and 115) is where approximately 68% of adults would fall.
Could have been, it was long ago so I don't remember the score exactly. I remember her saying "borderline genius". I looked the Wechsler up on Wikipedia before posting, and saw the deviation was +/- 15. For some reason I thought 110-115 was genius.

And this is a perfect example how someone smart can also be dumb at the same time.

My IQ is 145. I've taken it several times since then and fall within 5 points everytime. I've always excelled in school, learn quickly, and love to learn.

Personally I always assumed that a large proportion of the guys on here were the same. While other guys were out learning how to interact with girls we focused on intellectual tasks rather than social ones. At least that's the vibe I've got from a lot of guys on here. I think that's why I've enjoyed "pick-up" knowledge so much. It puts social interaction into words, statistics, and methods. I can read it then directly apply it to my life.

Most smart people seem to believe the world is getting dumber (by dumb people outbreeding the smart), but people may actually be getting smarter. Even if not, once thought impermeable IQ scores keep rising.
Rising Scores On Intelligence Tests

Average scores on intelligence tests are rising substantially and consistently, all over the world. These gains have been going on for the better part of a century—essentially ever since tests were invented. The rate of gain on standard broad-spectrum IQ tests amounts to three IQ points per decade, and it is even higher on certain specialized measures. In the Netherlands, for example, all male 18-year-olds take a test of abstract-reasoning ability as part of a military-induction requirement. Because the same test is used every year, it is easy to see the mean score rising, in this case, at about seven points per decade.

The cause of these enormous gains remains unknown. At this point, no one even knows whether they reflect genuine increases in intelligence or just the gradual spread of some specialized knack for taking tests. Greater sophistication about tests surely plays some role in the rise, but there are other possible contributing factors: better nutrition, more schooling, altered child-rearing practices and the technology-driven changes of culture itself. Right now, none of these factors can be ruled out; all of them may be playing some part in the increasing scores. Whatever the causes may be, the sheer size of the gains forces us to reconsider many long-held assumptions about intelligence tests and what they measure.

That's an interesting concept deep dish, especially when modern medicine and other such things have all but eliminated many things necessary for evolution to continue to take place. Apparently, though, we inherently make good decisions about mating based on intelligence.

Anyway, I'm thinking that this "study" might be as skewed as one of those "scientific" penis size surveys. Why would someone volunteer readily the information that they have a small penis, or in this case a low intelligence level? BUT it is interesting at any rate. I consider myself to be of extremely high intelligence, with an unofficial IQ of 148. I know people that I'd consider smarter than myself, though, who cannot interact with a person to save their lives. I'd prefer to be as above average as I am, and have the social skills that I do over being a ridiculous genius, Einstein-esque in stature, any day.

(And yes, I did try and use outstanding grammar and punctuation to help my cause. :) haha)

Stupid is as stupid does. Some of the smartest guys I know are often the least capable in applying their ideas. Some of the dumbest guys I know are unqualified success because they said WTF and did.

Men frequently err by talking too much. They often monopolize conversations, droning on and on about topics that bore women to tears. They think they're impressing the women when, in reality, they're depressing the women.

I'm intelligent. My IQ score was 149 at the last check. Of course, being given a V8 of a brain is all well and good, but it still needs to be serviced, have the oil changed etc. for it to keep running in top form.

This is scary. I used to consistently score right around 120. I just took the IQ test at http://www.iqtest.com/ and only got 101. I haven't taken an IQ test in probably over a decade. I don't know if that test is screwed up or if I'm just getting stupider with age, or maybe I'm just off my game today.

update

So I take this one: http://www.free-iqtest.net and it says my IQ is 127.

update...

http://mistupid.com/iq/index.htm shows my IQ as 130.

Wow, I gained 30 IQ points in the course of an hour. At this rate I'll be smarter than Einstein by midnight.

Online tests are generally pretty unreliable.

Studies actually say that IQ is surprisingly static, and generally doesn't change much during an adult's lifetime, so a drop of 20 points is most likely an anomaly.

That said, if you've been drinking a lot for years or don't do any work or hobbies that require much thinking, I'm sure its possible for the brain to get a bit rusty.

Online IQ tests don't seem legit to me. But I consistently get around 145. Test yourself often and you will open your mind to new ways of thinking.

Is there a trusted and legit IQ test you can take online?

I bought one years ago that came on a floppy disk, this was before the internet was widely used and it showed me at about 120 I believe. I don't think taking that test was any different than taking one online.

On SAT, Achievements and LSAT I scored top 1%. I think there should be a genius breeding program, though. Get a stop score, you automatically get some government-subsidized puzzy. Otherwise it ends up all the dumb-azzes breeding like hamsters while the smart people have to sit around studying DJ BS to get some action.

LMFAO!

i'm reminded of futurama, when the professor says that the last time aliens invades the earth they just forced the most intelligent of them to start breeding continuously.. "Oh yes... *Breath Spray*"

I'm reminded of the movie Idiocracy. Where the idiots outbred the intelligent people and the future was very bleak. The future's favorite show was "Oww! My Balls!" I'm starting to see hints of that in our current televsion programs.

I think forums like this tend to attract and retain intelligent members.

However, IQ is really a poor tool for judging someone. There are many different types of intelligence, and as many of us have seen some of the most intellectually gifted men are irresponsible dolts when it comes to making wise decisions for themselves. And Ive known guys who couldn't do a crossword puzzle but see success because they aren't afraid to get out there and DO things.

We are all born with genetic 'cards', but IQ is not entirely static. It can be developed with education and progressive stimulation.

There is also a big difference between IQ and wisdom. I think wisdom is a far more valuable quality.

A guy with a lower IQ just doesn't spend as much time thinking, they spend more time acting and doing. I think there's a bit of a cultural difference between normal IQ people and high IQ people. Most intelligent people have intelligent friends. They cannot connect with unintelligent people. But since they are a smaller number of the population, they will have fewer people to network through, fewer opportunity chances with women and fewer chances at sex. And when they do meet a woman, most high IQ women are not the type that sleep around but would rather have a coffee shop conversation or go to a museum or something than bump and grind on the dance floor and fvck you later that night. I've dated a pretty intelligent woman over the last year, but the last woman before her, I had to "dumb myself down" in order to get in her panties. Couldn't talk about any intelligent, just had to try to be funny and sensual all the time. It got me the pvssy, but I knew I couldn't take her seriously because I had to hold back too much of my real self.

I know, right? Every IQ thread Ive ever seen on the web has no one claiming anything under a 140. If we were to go by these threads alone we could surmise that internet forum users are the most intelligent population on earth.

IMO IQ scores are just a platform for people to get sanctimonious about themselves.

You essentially upped your VALUE in her eyes by showing her that, if she wants you, she has to at times do things that you like to do. You are SOMETHING after all. You are NOT FREE. If she wants to hang with you, it's going to cost her something — time, effort, money.
