If you want a solid 6 pack, you build your ab muscles. You do a variety of different ab exercises a few times a week, cause this muscle group recovers fairly quickly. You eat a lot of protein. You do cardio.

Starving yourself wrestler style is ridiculous. Besides who wants to weigh 135lbs with little tiny abs when you can weigh like 190-200 with 1/2" deep ab seperation and eat like crazy? :D
