Hey guys: Longtime lurker, occasional poster..

A bit of background for my current situation: I am 34, she is 22. She has shoulder-length blond hair and a round face. We are not exclusive, but I knew her 3 years ago, and we got reacquainted 3 months ago and have been out on several "dates". She has low self-esteem and a few issues ( what young girl doesn't these days.. ) I have called her a few times, but am hard-of-hearing in one ear, so texting works for me and she is used to texting.

Our convo over text late last night. She initiated it:

Her: Hey are you up?

Me: Hi. Ya still up. What r u up to?

Her: What would you do or say if i cut my hair really short?

Me: I would be curious y u want to cut it off?

Her: Cuz my sister (sister's name) wants to see me with short hair

Me: Hmm. Putting my opinion aside for now: what do u want?

Her: Right now your opinion i want the honest truth what would you do or say?

Me: Your hair is beautiful! Don't cut it!

-- Then her sister chimes in, LOL --

Sister: This is her sister (sister's name) your suppose to agree with me not disagree

Me: Lol. Long hair keeps a woman looking feminine :)

Me: (Her name), what do u want to do? It is your hair

Her again: I dont know i want to try something new and would actually look good on me

Me: Hmm. Ur face is round. Your long hair balances out so your face doesnt look too wide

Me: I thought u wanted brown streaks in ur hair? (She had red streaks, and wanted to try brown. She brought this up last time I saw her in person)

Her: Lol i dyed my hair auburn brown

Me: Ooh! I want a picture! :) (She is self-conscious of having her photo taken)

Her: Lol why?

Me: Lol what I meant is a photo of u and me together

Me: Be honest.. U already cut ur hair short, didnt u..

Her: Not really

Me: Not really? Just a trim?

Her: Yeah like two months ago

Me: Lol ok. I like ur hair long :)

Her: K

Me: Lol. Does ur sis (sister's name) have short hair or long?

Her: She had it long then she cut it short and she looks really good

Me: Hmm. Is her face similar in shape to yours? What did her husband say? (I haven't met her sister)

Her: Kinda but not really and her husband wants me to cut my hair short

Me: Hmm. So I wanna see ur new hair color. What is ur schedule like saturday and sunday?

Her: Nothing i have these days off

Me: Cool. Lets meet saturday evening

--

So early afternoon today, she sends me a photo to my phone of her, WITH HER HAIR CUT SHORT! LOL..

Her: So what do you think?

My brother was with me. He hasn't met her in person yet. He took one look at the photo and thought it was him in the pic, at first! LOL!

He described her look as "horrendous" and like Moe from the Three Stooges. LOL. I was driving at the time, so my brother texted:

Brother: This is Z Man's brother. No offense, but that haircut makes you look like a boy.

Her: Lol thanks

I needed several minutes to decide what I would say..

Me: Umm.. Do u want the truth?

Me: This is Z Man again. R u trying to push me away?

Her: No why?

Me: I dont know what to say about ur hair..

Her: Well if you dont like it thats fine i like it its new and different its not your hair it will grow back

Me: Hmm. Ur new 'do will have to grow on me.. ;)

Her: Lol well yeah but im not trying to push you away k i just wanted to do something thats new and different and i personally like it im sorry that you dont like it

I changed the subject here, but a bit later..

Me: Who paid for the haircut? U or ur sister?

Her: I did why?

Me: Lol. Just wondering. If u paid, that tells me u wanted to cut it

Her: Lol i wanted to cut it

Me: Y did u ask my opinion yesterday?

Her: Cuz i wanted to know what you thought

Me: U wanted my opinion b4 or after u made up ur mind to cut it?

Her: Both

So guys: Is this typical of young women in their 20's? Should I take it at face value? Or did this sound like she was testing me? Am I over reacting, thinking this is more than it is?

In my area, it is common to see young women "snag" a man and get married, then shortly after they are hitched, the cut their hair short, gain 20 lbs, and cut back their make-up! Most guys around here don't have the balls to prevent this, or don't say anything to their woman it seems..

Your comments welcome :)

And this is why 34 year-olds shouldn't date 22 year-olds.

Once again, non meaningful, non exciting, boring conversations. Just like my other previous posts about this issue. Make her FEEL something. You are not here to talk about hair, that's what her female friends are for. She needs to know you are a sex machine. That you want to fuvk her brains out. Especially if she is 22. Stay away from these topics. More like, "hey, lets go do something, then we can comeback to my place and watch a movie. What? You are not down? Okay, cool. Good luck with your new hair. Just don't chop it all off. Gotta date tomorrow night, have to give her a call so I'll talk to you soon". PEACE OUT.

She cut her hair becuase you didn't give her masculine reasons to keep it long. You gave her feminine reasons.

If you would have said:

"I'd only bang you if you kept long hair" or "You look a LOT sexier with longer hair" or "A lot of women find it pleasurable to have their hair tugged on a little bit"

Then she probably wouldn't have cut it.

And her sister is a major biotch.

Never try to read a woman's mind. It is a scary place. Ignore her confusing signals and mixed messages. Assume she is interested in you and act accordingly.

Mate, you sounded like one of her GFs that she rang and asked for opinions. Too long-winded. Just make your point known, something like, "long hair is sexy on women, short hair isn't" and stop.

I kind of like it when they cut off their hair. Because then I can see how her lips look when they are wrapped around my d!ck.

And give me a reason why you couldn't see that with women with long hair?
And no... very FEW women can sport the short hair.

It's typically terrible of a woman to do this and only seen by women who get married or too comfortable in their relationships... and lesbians.

Because when they go down on you with long hair, they brush it over their face so you can't see them.

Have you ever gotten head? You would know this.

Seeing their lips like that is a huge turn on.

Um, have YOU ever gotten head, junior mint?

I've NEVER had a problem with a woman with long hair, specially when they are on their knees.
Even then, PONYTAIL much?

Come on, MNIM, I cringed years ago, don't make me cringe again with everything you say.

I've gotten tons, prolly more than you. Deal with it. Even MNIN has outsexed you, and with the short hair I liked the way her lips looked.

Why you getting offensive?

You're completely right.
It's totally uncalled for me to get offensive with you.
What was I thinking, lowering myself to your level?

You're right, you can have all the girls that look like little boys with their haircuts. I will just keep all the feminine looking ones.

Apologies.

And no... I highly doubt you've gotten more than me. But hey, if that helps you sleep at night, go for it.

Even MNIN has outsexed you, and with the short hair I liked the way his lips looked.
There, I fixed it for you.
Cheers, mate. :D

Don't give a rat's a$$ re: the hair cutting, but kudos on bagging a 22 y/o.

And for those over 30 who wouldn't bang a 22 y.o, shame on you! lol

"Me: Lol ok. I like ur hair long

Her: K"

Then she cuts it anyway. Disrespectful. She asked your opinion and had no intention whatsoever to honor it.

No, it's not typical of young women in their 20's. It is typical for girls with mental issues, though. But you already know she has those, right? I wouldn't be surprised if your girl showed some signs of anorexia at some point in her life...

Anyway, here's a very likely scenario: Initially, she really just wanted to cut her hair because she wanted to cut her hair, testing you had nothing to do with it. However, once you gave your opinion (basically, not in favor of short hair), she felt rejected/insulted. And you know how that works with people who have low self esteem, they're very sensitive about things...even a small criticism of her looks will be interpreted by her as a full out rejection of her as a person. Then her mind goes something like this: "Boo-hoo! He hurt my feelings, I feel rejected by him. Boo-hoo, he makes me feel sad! But you know what? I'm gonna prove to myself that I can be happy with myself regardless of what he thinks of me! Therefor, I'm gonna cut my hair anyway and feel good about myself regardless of what others think of me!" You see, at that point she just wants to cut her hair to prove something to herself: that her self esteem does not depend on what others think of her. So now it has become about "resisting" you and your negative response to her idea of cutting her hair, but it wasn't initially.

Anyway, I think you should be on guard for CLUSTER B behaviour from her... Which is something you don't want to get drawn into! Stuff like this: You feel she's testing you but you're not sure... So you ask her, but she denies it. Still you feel like she did, so you're gonna ask implicit questions to confirm your suspicions after all. She's gonna sense that those questions of yours have a hidden meaning and not like it ("I feel like you're interrogating me!"). She'll "retaliate" by aggravating you more, you're gonna get pissed off and so the mind games continue... Make sure you don't get caught up in this kind of crap, my friend.

Long hair is nice, but it shouldn't be a major part in how hot a chick looks. Hell, look at Amber Rose.
