So there's a girl who I've known for a while, but it wasn't until recently that we really started talking a lot. Everything has been going pretty well.
With prom coming up in a couple months I decided to ask her last friday, so I do and she says yes. This put me in a relatively good mood.
Earlier today at the beginning of the class I have with her, when she gets to class she tells that she can't go with me because somebody else had already asked her the beginning of the school year. She says she thought he was joking when he asked and that she completely forgot it ever happened. Now when she told me this it seemed like she really was sorry and it seemed like she was telling the truth, but I wasn't sure if she was being honest. She asks me if it's ok and I replied with "Don't worry about it" and keeps asking "are you sure". When she asked if I was mad at her I said "I'm not happy about it".
After that it basically goes like this.
Her: I need to make this up to you. I'm doing something for my birthday two saturday from now do you want to go?
Me: I'm busy that day
Her: Uh, when's you're birthday
I tell her, but it's during the summer
Her: What about your half birthday
Me: It's already passed
Her: You're not making this easy. Are you sure you're busy on saturday?
Me: Yeah I am.
The way she said it seemed like she really was sorry.
I'm not busy on the day of her thing. I don't want to go because she feels pity. She really seemed to be sorry about it, but I don't if what she's saying is true. She could tell that I wasn't happy about it. She would keep talking to me during class about other things, but I wouldn't really reply and if I did it would only be a couple words.
I was about to tell her how I was really feeling, but I just decided against it. Before we parted ways she told me "I'm sorry if I pissed you off" she hugged me and that was that. To be honest I was a little pissed off and would have preferred that she had just said no in the first place assuming it's all BS.
Do you guys think that what she was saying was genuine and that she really did feel sorry? and I don't know if I handled it right. I'm thinking about talking to her about it tomorrow but don't know if I should.
