Good god, this thread reeks of AFC - ism and desperation. Someone close it.

Why is this thread so "AFC"?

All I'm seeing is some people talking back and forth, making jokes, and having fun. *shrug*

I enjoy talking with people who are humerous, intelligent and have something interesting to say.

Label me however you like, if it makes you comfortable. :)

Honestly, this forum is not for picking up attention ***** posters.

Ninja Dude, I'm really ashamed as a DJ to see you putting this attention ***** up on a pedestal. A perfect example of what NOT to do. Go out and find some real, in the flesh HBs!

Girls, including HeyPretty (if you really are a girl), if you want to socialize, there are thousands of other chatrooms and boards on the internet for this type of crap. If you honestly want to hook up with a DJ, go out into the world and FIND ONE. Since we are the creme de la creme, the top 3% of men, it will be easy to spot us out. Otherwise, if you don't have anything useful to contribute to the discussion on BEING A DJ, then stay AWAY FROM THE KEYBOARD.

Can I hear an amen, my brothers!?

Tell her a little about yourself, but not too much. Maintain some mystery. Give her something to think about and wonder about when she's at home.

Agreed. This board needs somebody perky and humorous. I think I love you.

Oh, and HeyPretty I'd open the door for you any time. Of course I'd probably trip you and then apologize to the crowd of people saying that you're just really drunk (again) and we need to get you back to rehab.

I bet you snort when you laugh you big ham!

I'm sorry you've got the wrong idea John Juan. I'm neither out for attention, nor a promiscuous woman.

I'm not intending on picking up any of the men on this site. If I gave that impression, I sincerely apologize.

I believed that part of being a Dj was taking things in stride, having fun, and joking around.

Perhaps I'm being too hasty here, but I've noticed that for being a website devoted to bettering yourself, becoming more confident, effective communication and meeting new people, there are many posters that consistantly insult and belittle new voices, ignore simple respectful conversation, and just dismiss people outright because of gender.

Girl Crazy, I'd probably trip myself. I'm a bit of a clutz, but I balance it out by not having any shame. (And I *never* snort when I laugh. Ever. Never. Not once. Got that? Ever.)

It is about making yourself better. And that often involves humor (especially being able to laugh at yourself, situations, life). But I feel that the women on this forum are leading things too far off subject. That some of the threads are just disintigrating into idle chatter instead of maintaining helpful tips and discussion on being a DJ. If you want to just chat, why not start up a chatroom somewhere, call it "DJ chat", and then anyone (man, woman, child, monkey, alien, and sponge alike) who'd like to socialize with you can do it there?

I totally understand where you're coming from JJ.

Though my approach is, if you aren't into what's going on in a thread, and you're not enjoying the convo, just ignore it.

My posts on this thread, (originally) and any others I've posted on have been fairly pertinant to the topic I believe.

But if someone wants to ask me a question, I'll answer it for them. And if someone says something I disagree with, I'll more than likely say something. I don't think that's being unreasonable.

I've been coming to this site for about 3 months with a lot of sensible discussion all around. For some reason the flaming, arguments and off-topic banter just seem to have gone out of control in the past few weeks. I noticed also that the increased female presence coincides with this. :) You and Sexy_Malibu in particular have caused quite a stir, and in turn i reckon you have made the ambiguously named females more open in decleration of their gender.

I personally think it's a little bit of a revolution for these boards and embrace it with open arms. It's refreshing to get a female perspective on a problem, and both of you girls are indeed intelligent and rather humerous as has been mentioned. You have to remember though, that some people on the boards are sexist (just as in every walk of life) and WILL discredit you out of their own insecurities. Also, some (most?) are AFCs who will compete for your attention on these boards. I think it's the open flirting (thus exploiting these AFCs for attention ;)) that may get up some people's noses.

But freedom of speech and all that, carry on. :D

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.

I just think it shows CLASS to take personal discussion off the help forums and onto a medium that respects the concept that others don't care to read your personal discussions. The fact that you continually engage in this kind of personal chat on the forum tells me that you don't respect that boundary.

The lady doth protest too much! Oh, and yes you do snort when you laugh. Don't lie you little vixen :)

And what's up with all the hate? Who says she's coming here to hook up with anybody? Why would any true DJ care anyway?

All I see is entertaining banter. She must be doing something right if every man here is getting his panties in a bunch over her. What's so wrong to have somebody "stir the pot" once in a while? Boo fricken hoo, so a topic gets derailed. Topics don't seem to get derailed any more or less because of women posting here. This whole thing reminds me of a treehouse club I had when I was 8 years old. Girls weren't allowed into the club because they had cooties.

Ham it up girl! This is entertaining *breaks out the popcorn*

Well... lol.

Thanks for all the replies. There's nothing I like more than different points of view. It's stimulating to say the least.

And thanks to the lads who don't hate on me right out the gates.

I'll try to be a kitten among the pigeons, rather than a cat. Or, at least if I stir the pot, I'll never double dip.

If this is a stab at me, you've got the wrong guy. I love women, totally respect their opinions, totally dig what their half of the species contributes to society and my life. I believe this forum is for helping AFCs convert, and for already established DJs to share their tips, help others. I don't believe its for flirting, talking about the weather, attentionwh0redom, and other irrelevent distractions.

I look at it this way: if I was a totally hopeless AFC, I wouldn't want to have to sort through pages of bs to get to what is helpful on the forum. Would you?

No my friend, it's not a stab at you. You made your points in a mature and balanced fashion, and I agree to an extent with what you say. I still think if people are really bothered they will filter offending posters.

You can't deny though, there are a lot of sexist posters.

Grandma what sharp teeth you have!

Ok back to the topic. If some feminist militant woman asks me why I held a door open for her, I say I hold doors open for *everybody*, and that I was raised to be polite. And I'd probably throw in a comment about how no good deed goes unpunished.

hey bug, that's not the point. its not like she's harrassing me or anything. as much as i'd rather she post personal banter elsewhere, it really doesn't bother me that much. but it would drive someone who's looking for helpful info crazy to see so many posts turning into 'social hour'.

Duh, its probably because she is chubby and unattractive. Which explains why she is attention whor ing on a wb site becuase she doesn't have the looks to do it in real life.
:( That's it. You got me. I confess.

Awww... I got mentioned... the attention ***** in me is beaming with pride.

But seriously, thanks (unless there's some sarcasm happening there?) As I always say on this site, I KNOW WHERE I AM... I'm not going to be like "oh no someone said something sexist, let me defend the female gender"... Its all good.
