Regarding "Purpose"

I've seen this mentioned a lot over the past few days and I'm curious about it. Apparently, if you focus on your purpose, you'll eventually get women.

It reminds me of the movie Field of Dreams: "If you build it, they will come."

As far as I know, the only purpose males have is spreading their seed. Sure, I'm speaking biologically, but biology is why we're alive, and why we're on a forum dedicated to biological urges.

So this "purpose" that keeps being mentioned, what is it exactly: is it your hobby; is it something you feel drawn to by God; is it the way you choose to make money? It just seems ambiguous to me.

What if John Doe thinks his "purpose" is to be the best video gamer? Or maybe he wants to be the best tuba player. Will the women eventually come for him?

I think it's a cop out.

As far as getting layed, what should be said is this: focus on something that will build your confidence with women (i.e. learn game, or pick a "purpose" that will force you to be around women), focus on building social status, focus on making money, or focus on being content with not fvcking.

As soon as you think of purpose, you are asking what the rational and ideal ends of life are. You're asking what the 'Good Life' might be. These are ethical questions which serve to 'problematize' taking our biological urges as definitive and determinative of our behavior. Here is the beginning of self-determination, where we seek to overcome our simple biology and regulate our actions - good old-fashioned morality stretching back to the Greeks and Romans through the millennia.

Of course, purpose can not be about being the best at some skill... such as video gaming, or gaming in general. It is about meaning and knowledge. It has to be essentially a metaphysical enterprise, where you might see the beauty of a woman swept up into the beauty of the cosmos.

I'm saying there is no definitive purpose for man, beyond propagating the race. If you try to go beyond that, then you're stroking your own ego, however you see fit.

I enjoy your verbosity, but it doesn't help the conversation.

Are we trying to give vague answers to newbies, or are we trying to help them get layed?

Well, I see the aims of this site as a bit more diverse than just getting laid. Sure learn some social skills if you are a complete geek towards women, but I think men need to be looking at the big picture also, and asking larger questions especially in regard to how this all fits in towards women. They are the most practical of questions, which may lead to various solutions and outcomes.

It's like men today are stuck in the adolescent phase of life or something. Groundhog Day comes to mind.

Getting layed is easy in comparison to finding meaning in life. That's why I don't like posters tossing "purpose" around like it's ripe for the picking.

Wait until you're older... When you wrestler with the existential crisis... questions. The whole concept of "what is/was my purpose in life" becomes more complex.

It ain't all about getting laid guys.

Yes, I agree with this. It's like a platitude. Find your purpose, and yadeeyadeeya… without stopping to consider what this actually means.

I think you can find freedom in realizing that there was never a purpose for your life. Your life is what you want it to be.

Purpose is important as it drives ur passion.

So before even thinking abt getting laid, know urself 1st, only then know ur purpose, with that ur passion in life.

Once u hv passion, then work on being effective.

When u hv both passion and effectiveness, only then will people be drawn 2 you.

Such a man is rare. And a rare man is special, everyone is drawn 2 a special man.

Purpose just means means of sustainment and priorities.

That's part of it. And priorities. The other pillars of your life. Passions would be one of the pillars.
The entire reasoning purpose was mentioned was to keep men from throwing away or weakening their life behind a woman.

Man's purpose is to work, basically. I can wrap my teeth around that.

I feel like a lot of posters mean "purpose" in an esoteric way, though, the buggers.

It's like many a self-help author, they tell you to be yourself and find your passion. "Just focus on that and you will be OK."

All bullsh1t, if you ask me.

You need to feed your passions but you also need to sustain yourself.

I'm okay with people never killing their dreams. But if ya want to be an actor or musician you need a real full time job that pays the bills. Acting or music will have to be part time until you make it.

Depends on which quadrant u r in.

If u r in the intellectual quadrant, there's no use nor purpose of you being/working/competing in other quadrants.

You might do okay in other quadrants by being effective won't be happy simply because ur passion doesn't reside there.

I said 1st know urself. Only then can you find ur purpose then passion then working towards being effective in it.

That will bring you a sense of fulfillment/happiness.

Imagine waking up every morning and having something to do that u ****ing love to. and you actually make money by doing it.

It drives u it excites u and it makes you happy, it makes you Energetic and most importantly attractive to the opposite sex. Why? cause you love u'r self and what you are doing.

Its the purpose that gives you meaning, when u are happy people around you can actually feel that and see that, even some people become but hurt that you are so happy and they are miserable betas that do the 9-5 and chase chicks and fap all day.

No, I get it. I just think it's a proverbial rabbit.

Some kid has a passion for painting and makes a lot of money off of it. Something like that, right?

What about all of the guys making money off programming, construction, plumbing, electrical line work etc...you know, the guys that make good money making society turn. Do you think that's their purpose?

It definitely makes a difference what your purpose is. If your purpose is to build the biggest model railroad or civil war diorama that you can fit in your garage, it's probably not going to help you get women. If it's something that can give you status or get you out socializing with people, it will likely help you meet more women, and make you more interesting to them. Like playing music, racing motorcycles, playing baseball, or something like that.
