Good points, gentlemen. Just to clarify, and only in regards to myself: I was never THAT skinny. Just had a little gut that no one noticed (namely because I kept it sucked in... ha ha!) But that figure definitely worked, all around. Skinny guys have no stand-out features - just like skinny girls don't. Being a LITTLE extra is an advantage in that regard, IMO. Certainly, it would have been nice to be that way WITHOUT having to suck it in all the time, because it was pretty tiring. Never really lifted weights or ate right.

At the same time, what if you LOSE some of that **** when you get buff? Those guys - and I recently worked with one - usually have round faces, or no ass (no homo). Dunno... being short and skinny and "versatile" always worked. Like how a guard can swing by a forward in bball. I guess, you don't necessarily have to bulky, though, either. Kobe Bryant is still pretty "strong", despite not having the height or huge build, and can still move around. A lot of "big" guys just remain stationary, and have no life to them... almost like they CAN'T move around and be agile with ease. Chicks used to love when I danced like a complete queer-ass faggot on the dancefloor, for instance. Or moving around and using behaviors and movements during conversation. Just being all out there.

Just seems like a lot of difference between buff and skinny guys. Like Eminem vs 50 cent, as another example. Em is all over the place, even when he's making jokes and acting retarded, or purposely dancing like a douche. That's similar to what I'm like, and (had) a similar body style and build.

When you talk about the gym, you people talk of going there because women appreciate this and that.

People, who talked about the gym in this thread, are all a complete joke.

What ever happened to going to the gym as a hobby or a passion? Why do you rig yourself to do things to please other people and what THEY like? The gym provides you with so many valuable qualities to aid you through your daily life and the only reason you adhere to it is because "women like it". Nowadays, people don't have personalities anymore. Everyone is a copy of each other.... so sad.

I can't speak for the others here, but I don't go to the gym for anyone but myself-especially now that I am older. I have been in a happy relationship for 5 years now. In fact I have been in LTR's since I was 20 or so, very rarely am I single for very long. I could lay on the couch and do nothing if I wanted while in those LTR's, but that isnt my thing. In fact my fiance goes to the gym with me 5 days a week and does every squat, every deadlift, every bench press, every skullcrusher, every incline BP press, every pendlay row, every leg press, every hack squat, every exercise I do....right along with me. And we lift for a good 1.5 hours a day. And she is a little 115 pound Asian. We do it because we like to do it, and like to see the results it gives us. Plus it is a great thing to do together.

That being said, the reason I brought up aesthetics and how lifting can help with that, which in turn will help with the girls, is because 90% of the guys on this website are here for a very big reason....to be better with the opposite sex.

At this point you probably have a woman (or multiple women) chasing you around, calling you all the time, wanting to be with you. So let's talk about how to KEEP a woman interested in you once you have her. This is BIG! There is nothing worse than getting dumped by a woman that you really, really like.

If some of you guys want a good lifting program to follow, I highly rec this one. It concentrates heavily on hypertrophy. I have only been doing this specific program for a month now (been lifting for years) and already my incline dumbbell press has gone up 30 pounds to 100 each arm, and my flat dumbbell press has gone up 35 pounds to 115 each arm. Legs and almost every lift has gone up as well.

Yep that's the only reason I'd go. Not trying to knock your hobby but I'd rather do other things than eat every five seconds and spend multiple hours a week exercising. I want women. By becoming more attractive to them it makes it easier to acquire them. When you look at it like that yes I'm am doing it for me. The fact that it pleases others is a bonus.

Do you have any experience with gaining without using weights? I know that's the fastest way to gain but I can't be bothered to pay for a gym membership. I've been doing body weight exercises but I know that'll probably take forever to get any meaningful results. Also I think many men trying to get big underestimate the benefits of improving posture. With improved posture a man's shoulders can become broader, height increased, more attractive walk, and a host of other benefits. Its not enough to just mentally decide that you wanna walk taller though. The body must be reprogrammed to improve posture through certain exercises.

Great to hear. You are very lucky you found a girl that shares your same passion. That is uncommon to find. You two can feed off each other's drive and energy. Never letting each other move away from your joint objective.

It is true people in this site want to be better with the opposite sex. However, it is ridiculous and completely laughable to do things to please others. You may like to be big and bulky, while not a fan of being shredded. Why would I be even think to do as you, if i don't like to be big and bulky? The thing with doing it for others is that sooner or later and when you face obstacles such as being tired, being in pain, and about to throw up, you will quit. WHY? Because you aren't doing the task because YOU WANT it. It's easy to drop something and break it, if it isn't yours, right? However, if it was yours, you would take the utmost care of it. Because its YOURS.

@JoeMarron: You are exactly what i'm talking about. If women didn't like the ripped look that the gym provides you with, would you still go? No. You are one of those guys that goes to gym, but looks like he does anything besides lift. Do yourself a favor and don't go. It's better not to waste your time on something you don't have your heart on.
