I learned more about the true rich vs. fake rich in my years in NYC than anywhere else. In Manhattan, you had certain bars that were hole in the wall and even hidden in restaurants. One was in Soho, you'd walk into a casual restaurant, keep walking and turn right, and then walk down a flight of steps to end up at an underground nightclub. It was 70% model tier girls on most nights and 30% guys who were usually from the Ivy Leagues. It was an Ivy League gathering spot for folks that went there.

The bouncers would reject hot girls in groups all the time but only let in people that gave off the vibe of the bar itself. As for the women they let in? Tall model types and really hot girls. The guys? It was based on what you wore, how you came off, when you came, and if you gave off that Ivy League vibe. My hottest night game lays ever were from that bar.

You would go in and make small talk with people who were friendly. They were sizing you up to see if you gave off those Old Money vibes. Overtime, I became a regular there and realized that the owner had a certain mindset. If you were too loud or gave off that try hard new money vibe, people could sniff it up and he said he turned people down that way. Bouncers were told to turn down girls and guys, no matter how hot, who gave off "Jersey vibes". I loved it and met some cool folks from there.

Followed their IGs and they were always set to private and their stories were in this low-key type of resorts and towns blogs and magazines rarely write about. These were old money people and some of them do not even tag the location if their Insta is set to public.
Exactly. I used to frequent NYC quite a bit too on business and still have family and a number of good friends there. The hottest clubs where the “IT” crowd went never had signage. Once a venue had to put up a sign they were already long since played out.

The lines were a block long and it’s always this anonymous looking location somewhere in the Village…I’d frequent perennially hip joints in Soho and pick out a waiter or bartender with the right vibe & chat a bit, relaxed & cool & ask straight up where the cool kids are hanging out in the city…and I’d end up in venues exactly like Jesse described…model hot women mixing with bond traders and Ivy Leagers and everyone was chill. Even the VIP areas in these clubs were chill IF you naturally acted like you belonged there. When my first husband had his nightclub I took him to NYC for a weekend. We walked past the line, I gave one of the door guys a hug, introduced my husband as the owner of XYZ hot club in a super popular nightlife city & said we had heard this was the place to kick it in the city so we thought we’d check it out and the guy was cool. We walked to the end of the line. We were there maybe 5 minutes and the door man walks down, gets us out of line & escorts us in. Place exactly like Jesse described. Beautiful cool people everywhere. Was a fantastic time.

The guys running these places are well versed in reading people. They make the club’s reputation by screening out the fakes, the pompous and the posers. They take it very seriously indeed.

The life cycle of every popular NYC nightclub (politically incorrect)

1. Low key dive bar type of place but usually situated in a nice neighborhood in Manhattan or at times Brooklyn (sometimes can be a club as well as opposed to a bar)

2. Quieter and the music is not nearly as loud

3. Frequented by the locals who tend to be white collar professionals that usually went to a decent uni

4. Gains traction from locals, usually 20s and 30s, overtime

5. Said locals bring their cool friends who all usually live in Manhattan to the given club and it grows popular

6. Crowd remains such, white collar professionals who all know each other.

7. Hot girls join in and it really takes off.

8. It grows popular and now every guy is trying to get in but manageable since a lot of guys are locals or well to do types.

9. People from outside of the borough hear about it and it crosses the ears of the Bridge and Tunnel crowd.

10. People from New Jersey and Long Island start showing up, the club is officially trash now.

I have legit business in Vegas, not some idiot conference and it’s a pain when the big conferences are in town because it just makes everything more pronounced.
We're only about 3 weeks away from the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) being in Las Vegas. CES is Jan. 5-8 this year. CES is a shiit show. This will be the 2nd post-pandemic onset CES. CES 2023 will have less attendees than most CES shows from 2005-2020.

Let’s put it this way. Exclusivity costs money. Find out the very best places that are rated? You better have bank. The top rated French restaurant will set you back over a G for dinner, excluding wine or drinks and has a four month waiting list.

That’s not your crowd Im guessing.

I go to Vegas at least monthly on business. Frankly I don’t enjoy it much. It’s longer lines everywhere from the car rental bus lines to the check in lines at the hotels. It’s crowded and all about extracting money from people who financially have no business gambling, but it seduces people who have otherwise ordinary lives and no style whatsoever.
If my work tries to send me there again, I will respectfully & politely tell them Fvck no. I did blow money on a Gucci wallet though haha.

Honestly the shopping there is pretty good. I’ve got a number of great things from there.

There's some interesting tidbits here coming from @BeExcellent and @Jesse Pinkman

Personally these groups of people are not my style, but interesting anyway.

I stayed in the cosmopolitan for 4 days- work related, freemont street the next, and Mandalay Bay the rest.

I’ll be honest, y’all Cali escapees bragging about leaving for Vegas must be on some funny drugs. This is easily the top worst 3 cities I have ever visited in my life. I rarely saw any hot girls, even on the strip at night. I didn’t see many day game opportunities due to scarce amount of quality women and most people were in groups. Now I might be biased because I don’t gamble, but none of it looked enticing aside from the card tables. I had the omg Vegas food and it was all overrated and overpriced. Vegas is the Orlando, Florida of the West IMHO.

I went a couple months ago, it was definitely a lot more ghetto crowd than it was 10-20yrs ago. Also hotels were packed with prostitutes, they were literally everywhere and this was at the higher end ones too. Had a good time though, if you are willing to spend some money you can have a lot fun experiences.

Thank you for summing up what it was about Vegas I did not like. A few years I went to Vegas for a National level competition. What always bugged me is that I felt like everyone was trying to get my money. And believe me I was scraping to get there. Now my gf has a friend with a condo there and we have been invited. Perhaps it would be different with local perspective...

Advice from the old lady:

Here’s the thing about Vegas. It’s all about two things: who you know and what you’re worth.

Ballers in from out of town are going to be at the highest high end places. Period. Hot women go where the ballers go. That ain’t the Cosmopolitan and it ain’t Fremont St. It ain’t the buffet anywhere.

Hot women go to exclusive venues. There is no reason for them to be out walking around.

Out walking around are going to be the public, seniors in cargo shorts and fanny packs & ethnic minorities who are mostly some variety of obese. Ick.

Hot women in Vegas simply are not accessible to avg. Joes. Why would they be?

So you have to know where the hip venues are where the ballers go (and every place advertises that they are IT)….they aren’t.

Which gets us back to WHO you know that can give you that intel.

Let’s put it this way. Exclusivity costs money. Find out the very best places that are rated? You better have bank. The top rated French restaurant will set you back over a G for dinner, excluding wine or drinks and has a four month waiting list.

^^DING DING this is not only true for Vegas but LA, NYC, Miami, Chicago heck even in Minneapolis

Are you gonna see hot women walk around Miami and NYC yes of course
Will there be hot women on the beach in LA, probably but there to snap a couple flicks for IG
Most women are gonna be at exclusive high end venues i.e. clubs, mansion parties, condo parties etc

It's about who you know when you out of town, and those people are plugged in their city you will see the side of town that OP didn't get to see even in a place like Milwaukee Wisconsin lol

This is why I hate travelling within the US in general. I feel like domestic flights are more of a pain in the ass to deal with than international. In addition, flying within the US isn't really that much cheaper than international. Now you have arrived in NYC and your basically subjugated to pay to play tactics. Oh, but you didn't go where the locals go or you are not supposed to go there....I only hear this BS with US cities mostly lol.

So the other day I was in London because xyz. A friend of mine who lives there is a big deal because he´s friends with the Prime Minister and with Buckingham palace. Anyway, my friend took me to this secret place that nobody knows about and the bouncer was denying entrance to groups of hot girls because they had fake boobs. Inside it was 93% hot girls with natural boobs and 7% guys with big shot friends

Im with @Jake_Gyllenhaal69 on this one. I could spend a thousand dollars in some Vegas restaurant, but I choose not to. If I wanted to blow money on food, I would rather take a flight to Puebla, Puebla and eat there than go to Vegas, but that´s just me.

Single and single for the weekend women go to Vegas to party. Do you realize what a rare opportunity that is, women traveling without guys? The hottest girl I ever ****ed was a one night stand with a college girl from the Midwest in Vegas with her friend. I was 36? at the time. The only thing that even compares is Spring Break and that only comes once a year. The negativity isn’t helpful. Vegas isn’t a guaranteed lay but it’s as close as you’re going to get.
And by the way, I picked that girl and her friend up in the line to get into the nightclub…at the Cosmopolitan.
