Whatever Tennessee is, I feel like Georgia was a much worse version of that. Looking back at it, I cannot get over how cliquish the environment was even in the alumni space. I went to some alumni meetups in Atlanta and some in NYC and everyone always had an angle. It was what they can get out of you and if they could not get anything out of you, then forget it. It never clicked for me when I was there but looking back at it, man Athens was one overrated and cliquey environment that I have not seen out of other college environments. There is really something wrong with the culture in suburban Atlanta and Athens itself. It just felt like a miserable environment to be a part of.

I have been involved with rich people from the northeast and west coast and they were way more inclusive. Meanwhile, some typical suburban Atlanta kid usually comes off as smug despite not having that much to be smug about.
I lived in Georgia from 2001 to 2008. I did not go to a university there but I did go to high school. I can understand their societal seclusion and why the preppy people that live in Kenessaw do not want to associate with how ghetto towns like Decatur or Gwinnett County can be like.

@Drmuscular - Are you currently a college student? You are 20 and that is the age of a typical current college student.

Social ostracization depends on the college. I didn't see it much at my college in undergrad (2001-2005).

Most college students do form monogamous, committed relationships to get laid. Most of the guys attempting to live unattached lifestyles and put up big notch counts end up failing. There's a small percentage of men on all campuses who can successfully have sex with many women but they are offset by the unattached guys getting ignored and not scoring.

As an 18-20 year old, why would you have luck with women 27+? That's not your target market.

Looks matter more than money on campus. However, men with family money who flaunt it with awesome possessions can experience sexual success.

I have called my undergrad alma mater "Hot Girl U" on here before. It wasn't a legacy SEC school. It's interesting how University of Georgia alum act. I haven't interacted with too many Georgia alumni randomly in Dallas in the past decade +.

Some colleges tend to attract certain personality types. It seems like the personality type that goes to Georgia is not great.
Yeah I'm in College, and as for social ostracization, things have changed I guess, mind you my college is famous for being left leaning in my country.

It is VERY left leaning, there is communist propaganda everywhere although i do not consider myself "right wing" anyone can see that the shid on my uni is radical.

And so "players" "manipulators" "emotionally unavailable men" are not looked favorably, and funnily enough hoes do not look good either because i live in a conservative country, they have a bad reputation but they don't get "cancelled", so its a weird mix i guess. Things get to the point were some of the "players" get "cancelled" on social media specially if they cheated on an ltr (saw once on insta a dude who got "cancelled" because he cheated with like 15 girls who were new at campus), or even on campus people put their faces on papers in the walls and say these guys are creeps or whatever but that usually happens with dudes who either ****ed up their women really bad emotionally and even physically or dudes who just don't get a hint / actual creeps.

Because of that I rarely date inside my own college, when I do I usually go mode 1.5 (being honest and whatever but not sexually explicit), really saves your ass specially if you date one of them crazy hoes they have no proof of you doing anything wrong. I will say that not every woman here cancels players and some of them are publicly against cancelling, but their fat feminist friends encourage them sometimes so I rather not risk it and date exclusively outside of my social circle and only flirt with women I know well, others I just treat them with respect and because I'm kind of handsome they usually forgive me when I slip up or say not so feminist things unlike my other less attractive friends.

I'm not sure how it works on other colleges but that is my current experience.

And yeah man sometimes there are mature women out there who I would gladly hookup with, but I understand I'm probably not what they are looking for.

Touching briefly on Atlanta culture, when I was there in the 90's people thought the thing to do was to have a big house out in bumphuck Cherokee County or someplace and have a 90 minute one way commute to your job. It's like having that in SoCal and trying to delude yourself the commute was desirable. To these people, this was "making it".

Edit - it was like that in the 00's as well
I think Georgia as a state, or at least the cities I have been in a lot (namely Athens and Atlanta) deserves a special case study on its people. I have been throughout the south and throughout America and the state is uniquely awful, or at least became that way this century. For starters, people just seem real sketch or having an angle. It is like everyone is trying to get something out of you or screw you over in some way. Even when I go back, it feels sketchier and sketchier compared to the rest of America.

At the same end, it is about as snotty and stuckup as it gets for a state too.

Plenty of other stuck up/snotty places too. I can name a few in the Western United States.

A number of the legacy SEC schools seem to be obsessed with Greek Life. Women in a good portion of sororities are stuck up during college. This can persist after college as well.

Ya you gotta figure a region settled by aristrocrats and their @ss-kissing servants (Albion's Seed - pathways to America) would have its largest city turn into StatusLand where people would rather breathe fumes on sardine-packed freeways 3 hours a day just so they can say they're "special".

And now that 3 hours is prob 5 given the area's twice as populated now with no new freeways built since the 90's. But hey, Status.

I am not a Georgia Bulldog fan, but I admire their Coach and fight to the end mentality they display. Idk what happened last season though lol.

What gives me the Ick about Atlanta is that it is stuck up and pretentious with nothing really to show for. The women are pretty mid, the food isn't that unique, and corporate HQs don't really make me excited. I only go to Atlanta because one of my best friends lives there, but outside of that I could not think of any other reason to go there other than a layover. I feel like the snobbiness comes from Atlanta being one of the few southern cities that wasn't a complete backwards shvt hole in the past and developed a more defined middle and upper class compared to a city like Jackson, Mississippi.

I haven't been on a "real" SEC campus in a while, but I would imagine things might be different because they have lost their king of CFB spot and a lot of yankees are taking over the campuses. However, I think the worst type of snob is a carpetbagger trying so hard to fit in the south.

This is probably the perfect post for the Atlanta thread, which hasn't been updated in a while. @Jesse Pinkman also started the Atlanta thread.

I can believe this.

I think there are plenty of students from out of the region that go to the legacy SEC colleges and try too hard to be real Southerners.

A lot of those legacy SEC schools have a big Greek life presence. University of Texas hasn't been dominated by Greek Life. In Texas, the 2 schools that seem to be most Greek Life oriented are private schools. They are Southern Methodist University (SMU) in Dallas and Texas Christian University (TCU) in Fort Worth.

TBH, our only true great team was the one where we beat Bama in the national title game. The year we repeated, we should have lost to Ohio St but luck was on our side. TCU was trash as well. Recently, I think that the program kind of let it all get to their heads because for ages, we haven't really won a national title and we finally win one since the 80s.

I used to think that Atlanta and Georgia have so many insufferable people because of an inferiority complex to the northern cosmopolitan cities. However, I am starting to realize that in reality, Georgia has an inferiority complex to Virginia and North Carolina. Whenever I have been to those two southern states, the people have been far more welcoming. In Georgia, it seems like everyone is hostile because they are desperately trying to avoid being at the bottom.

Like this desperation to be in the middle.

Georgia stomped TCU in that game.

TCU Football is a big deal in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. It's a relevant part of the TCU student experience now as TCU has had mostly good teams (sometimes in mid-major conferences) during the last 25-30 years.

The NCAA Basketball Tournament starts this week.

On campus, the NCAA Tournament doesn't impact the sex lives of most students at universities that are known for their college basketball programs. I doubt guys at the school whose team wins the tournament get laid any more in the week after the championship is won.

The NCAA Tournament is more of a thing for normies to consume alcohol and snack food than actually get laid.

The NCAA Tournament is a thing for alumni of college who tend to have good basketball programs most years. With alumni, it is a lot of normie, blue pill males with mid tier looks getting together with other alumni at bars. Some of the unattached normie males hope to meet a female at a game watching event for their alma mater's basketball team. It usually doesn't work that way. Alumni group game watchings at bars are usually awful ways to meet women for mating interactions. It's virtually impossible to get a focused enough conversation (even during halftime) to get to a point where a future mating interaction becomes a thing.
