It certainly isn't difficult to see why traveling is seen as attractive. A woman talking to a guy who travels a lot might think that if she hooks up with him, she will end up traveling with him, and most women like going on interesting trips.
Women like travel and travel related things.

Golf is one of those hobbies that women have traditionally complained about with men. I guess because it eats up a good part of the day, and he spends it with other men, instead of making time for them. Some women are good golfers though.
It tends to be married women/women in longer duration relationships complaining about men's golf habit eating up many hours of the day. These women are beta-izing their long term boyfriend/longer term husband. In the earlier stages of a relationship, many women might appreciate that the man has a hobby that prevents him from being too smothering to her early on.

There are some married men and married with with younger children who will forsake their golf or other sport hobby for the sake of 'family time' and appeasing the wife. I think this is more common than most will acknowledge. I am a tennis player. It's far more difficult to get a married men with younger children (typically under 10) to play tennis, especially the married men with children under 5.

Few men will go golfing with their girlfriends/wives. Most women won't be able to golf at a comparable level to their boyfriend/husband. Women who were competitive high school or even college golfers will always be popular with recreational male golfers. They might not even need to use a swipe app as they can often meet men through their golf hobby.

Women who have talent in many sports find themselves with penis abundance even without a swipe app, but probably not the overwhelming abundance that a swipe app can provide.

Tennis has some similarity to golf as a mating hobby. Like golf, most women won't be able to play tennis at a similar level to most recreational player males. Despite tennis' reputation of being female friendly, it is a sausage fest, especially amongst the good players.

Tennis is not a great way to meet women in your 20s and 30s. At public courts, you will rarely see 2 women in their 20s/30s playing a singles match. Most attractive women in their 20s/30s at public courts are playing with their boyfriend, husband, brother, or some other male. At private courts, there usually isn't a great membership base of younger women. Private courts are often a good way to meet late 30s-early 50s year old women. Some divorcees and wives of rich men who are 40+ are known to take drills/lessons together and play doubles at private clubs.

A female who has tennis skills and is reasonably young will be very popular with men without needing apps.

I've also seen the same thing happen with volleyball. If you ever go to sand volleyball courts and observe who is there, it's typically more men than women. However, a woman with volleyball skills will also be very popular. Women with volleyball skills tend to be taller women. Most of the talented female volleyball players at any given sand court will be 5'8"+ and seeking taller men.

I used to love playing tennis when I was younger, I was obsessed with it. There was one girl who was pretty good who used to play mixed doubles with her father a lot. As you say though, the average person couldn't really step on to the court and handle playing someone who played regularly. Unfortunately, tennis dried up in my area, no one wants to play, they even took our courts out. Otherwise I'd still be playing, even though I'm far from prime age for it anymore. Very sad.

I think it's more an attitude thing. Just like tattoos used to signify a rebellious attitude, motorcycling used to be rebellious as well. The bad boy image, if you will. However, the guys who start riding motorcycles in order to be attractive to the ladies have the accoutrements but not the proper motivations. Tough guys used to rock tattoos, but taking tattoos for female appreciation doesn't make you a rebel, so it's just so much graffiti defacing the building.

Any 'hobby' you will get in order to be attractive to others is only a neon sign displaying your insecurity and desperation.
Most riders don't ride as a hobby even, it's just to cultivate an image of themselves and nothing more. The day I see a Harley/cruiser rider out when it's raining or cold outside, I'll change my mind.

Yes. Over here a lot of people ride scooters and motorcycles because the dense traffic. I used to be a motorcycle courier, delivering small valuable packages by motorcycle in the Randstad, regardless of the weather.

I was thinking about buying a motorcycle to give the idea that I'm a biker, but I've felt for a scooter.

There are still no hobbies who can provide childless women after their 30's..

Awesome. I'm sure you had fun. Playing tennis regularly is more likely to get any man get laid indirectly (exercise helping with physique) than directly getting laid (meeting women through it).

As you say though, the average person couldn't really step on to the court and handle playing someone who played regularly.
Few women could handle it. Among the ranks of the better recreational level players (regular players), there are far more males than females. A regular playing female (less common in the female population) is going to attract many men based on being a competent player so long as she's reasonably good looking.

When a regular tennis playing guy meets a woman who claims to play tennis through night game, traditional day game, or tech methods, he's typically meeting a woman who is an irregular player and isn't capable of playing with him.

When a regular tennis playing guy meets a woman who does play regularly, she needs to have a skilled higher skill than he does in order to play competitive sets/matches against each other, assuming the two people are similarly aged.

Tennis isn't a good way to meet women for either shorter or longer term dating.

I think soccer and volleyball are a little bit better at facilitating romantic/sexual interactions but even that's debatable.

I actually rode around on a classic Vespa motor scooter and women loved to ride pillion, because a Vespa has that 'dolce vita' vibe.

Is that you?
No, I took the snapshot. We were taking a break from riding the countryside north of Amsterdam.

This is me, same place but with my other ride.

Fair point. Tennis is great cardio. I don't think I ever had an ounce of body fat on me when I was playing.
Your joints can take a pounding though. I had a lot of foot pain in my middle age years that I attribute in part to my years playing tennis. It's gone away now though.

It's a great sport. The running will help with weight management and keeping a man slimmer.

It's a tough sport from an orthopedic perspective. It is common for players to have knee, back, and shoulder problems. At the pro level, Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic had torn meniscii in their knees. Torn meniscus repair is an unpleasant procedure for non-pro level athletes and can have long term effects. Maria Sharapova had shoulder problems. All of these injuries are known to happen at both the pro level and the for regular recreation level player.

I'm surprised clubbing, marijuana, and drinking are on the list of unattractive hobbies. From what I've seen, men who partake in those hobbies have an easy time getting a woman.

I think many missed the comments made at the end of the article that explains why clubbing and Marijuana considered unattractive in this survey:

Quote:
"our samples skew disproportionately toward women of high social status, high level of education (45% had a Master’s degree in the previous survey), and who are predominately White (> 90% in the last survey). Popular hobbies like “clubbing,” which was rated low in our sample, may be perceived as more attractive in other populations."

Ok, that explains a lot.

Pretty sure clubbing is pretty common with White broads overall (so I don't know why they felt the need to point out race). But the high social status and high education levels would explain why clubbing isn't popular with the surveyed demographic.

Regarding motorbikes, majority of women don't really care about your bike. However a small number of women who love bikes will show huge interest if you have an exciting bike. Personally, I don't like "biker" chicks, but whatever. I love women who are very new to bikes so I can provide them with experience of riding two-up. It's much sweeter that way.
Being a biker will only score you a point in the "daredevil" factor, the fact that you are doing something considered a bit dangerous and "selfish".

While you shouldnt give a fvck on a womans opinion about your hobby, you still want to sell yourself to her. You want to paint a picture of yourself she can get wet on.

Once you created that badass image and fvcked her good, you can inform her down the road on your more exotic hobbies.

What sold me best was , martial arts, shooting(guns), pets and cooking.
What didnt fly well was tabletop gaming and pc gaming, so i stopped telling them about it until they found out somewhere down the road after a few dates.

I understand that there are a lot more gamer chicks these days then 20 years ago, so this could play out in my favor depending on the woman.

Over the years i tried some activities that women tend to favor.
I tried to get into dancing for a while, even took some classes but i ended up being bored, didnt like the music and my approaches on women felt so forced that i quit. It ended up about the same way with beach volleyball.

Picking a hobby for the sake of procuring pvssy is not worth your time. Do whatever you like and sell what is in demand, the rest you keep to yourself.

Advice from the old lady:

I think the list is pretty accurate. Self destructivd behaviors (over indulgence in vices) is not an attractive quality. The article skews toward women who are going to be more relationship oriented and equipped, why would such a woman seriously consider a man who exhibits self destructive behavior for a LTR?

She would not want such a man to father her children. He's irresponsible, self destructive & selfish.

Not good husband/father contenders.

I routinely turned down men with bad habits in my 20s. I realized old habits die hard.....I knew if you married that guy you married the bad habit too....and I dated with a LTR mindset so those self destructive habits were instant DQ.....no matter how hot or cool the guy was..... I can remember when hanging out with a great friend & total playboy & partier (he never had a chance to date me because of his bad habits but he was fun to be buddies with) had a good friend who had married a hot girl. She complained constantly and loudly about him being stoned or drunk, and having trouble with work & not wanting a family.

I was like Wow. She's pretty dum b to have married a guy with those habits. Those habits were on display when they were dating.

Hobbies that are not self destructive should be for you, not for purpose of meeting women. Gaming can be a little tiresome. But its cool. When my husband is wanting to spend time gaming I take that opportunity to go do stuff by myself or with friends.

I have a bookcase full off European comics/graphic novels (like Milo Manara, Moebius, Hugo Pratt, Franquin, Walthèry) and a few American comics (Calvin & Hobbes, Pogo, Krazy Kat), that I've been collecting since I was 10-12 years old
US publishers outside of The Big 2 regularly put forth product that isn't superhero, and which refuses to patronize readers with infantile tales of Good triumphing over Evil https://cmykcomics.wordpress.com/20...-seven-to-eternity-vol-1-the-god-of-whispers/

Even when they sell well(By contemporary standards anyway), mainstream Hollywood rarely has any desire to adapt them for film, and our current social climate is one in which most audiences think along these lines
* Thus, almost everyone thinks "Superheroes", when it comes to US comics

*Maker Of Life bless Critical Drinker, he's entertained me several times over, nonetheless his argument attests to just how far the artistic and intellectual regression we're in the midst of has gone. He/most filmgoers miss the alleged "good ol' days" of Iron Man I and The Dark Knight, without realizing... Such pablum was no less designed for pre-adolescents than alleged "bad flicks" like The Marvels is
