There is a big difference between slinging feces and simply responding in kind.

My point is that right now any American can be arrested, tried and convicted without probable cause, a jury of his peers or any kind of warrant or trial. War has been declared on our liberties and essentially us as a whole. To make matters worse, everytime the sh*t hits the fan, be it economical or ecological, they ask us to bend over more so they can rail us even better than before.

Business as usual indeed!

I say f*ck that and f*ck them! We are 100% justified right now in taking the law back into our own hands and executing some semblance of justice.

Make no mistake - heads should be rolling over this. We are talking about millions of lives at stake, human and otherwise. We are talking about the future of our world at large, the collective destiny of all life on earth - but no one seems to care. At least not as much as they should.

We've seen some pretty natural responses online, and I know a lot of Americans are generally pissed off, but while there are not enough angry mobs out there demanding justice - things will just continue as they always have. People need to start getting pissed off and doing SOMETHING about the situation. By far my favorite protest group at the moment is http://www.seizebp.org/. They will never get what they are asking for but IMHO it is the least that should be done.

If I was king, BP would be liquidated, its assets used to restore all the damage and the people responsible would be publicly executed without a trial, warrant or judge's signature. If a serial killer can get the chair, so should the folks who murder and destroy at such a massive scale.

We like to think we've advanced so much in law and politics, but sometimes a good old-fashioned eye for an eye is the only way to establish balance.

Good job, Razor! You're really sticking it to the powers that be! Now, if you'd like to actually accomplish something you can bring your ass down here to Florida and clean up some beaches.

Please most people only care about it for so long then get bored...as long as they can go out to starbucks and buy more shoes or go home and watch pron then they are satisfied. It's pretty pathetic.

Yesterday on the news down here....they reported that a part of the beach was closed because they needed to clean up the beach of "Debris."

The ****ing debris were 2 damn oil barrels....
The point is not how sick of it people are.

The point is that the US Constitution allows freedom of the press.

There is no excuse for a media blackout of anything that does not involve national security. Whether the people CHOOSE to watch the news or not, they have a RIGHT to know what is going on.

Inside job? Conspiracy theory? The people should be able to SEE what's going on for themselves and decide, just like they did with 9/11.

If Bush was still in office, America would be CRUCIFYING him. But since Obama's the beloved God-king, it's OK for him to send troops down there to kick the media out?

Why, because it might damage his reputation?

Because the Federal government is who insures these oil companies against disasters of this magnitude and SHOULD have had better safeguards and accountability measures in place?

Not saying it's his fault the rig blew up, but a "Constitutional Law Scholar" ought to damned well know better than to black out the media.

Is this 2012 coming true?

It sure seems like it could be if they don't stop this thing.

It is spreading:

OKALOOSA ISLAND.Fl — Lifeguards have cordoned off a 100-yard stretch of Okaloosa Island so teams can assess and clean up a concentration of tar balls that have washed up there.

"We've got some product the size of golf balls, half dollars, very weathered oil," said Okaloosa County Public Safety Director Dino Villani, who was called to the beach early Wednesday morning.

"This is the most we've had," he said. "We've got hundreds. We don't have huge piles of oil, but we do have quite a bit."

Villani said the water was clear and beautiful, but that the health department had been called in to check it out.

He added that tar balls generally float in and are deposited on the beach. The Department of Environmental Protection was already on scene to clean up the area.

Emergency officials received calls of product washing up there late Tuesday night, but responders couldn't find anything of significance....

No media black out in Gulf Shores/Orange beach alabama. We have been down here shooting all up and down the beach. Met a few freelancers who are working for BP shooting footage as well. Talked to a lot of clean up crews who seem happy to have a job right now and to be doing something useful and talked to lots of business owners who are taking a big hit financially.

@f283000,

Apparently these geniuses have drilled into an active undersea VOLCANO. What was once an isolated leak is now spreading as far as 20 miles away, where oil and poisonous gases are shooting out of the ocean floor. Check out this youtube video which was shot nowhere near the oil rig:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KbN7v80TDdw

@Warrior74,

Thank you so much for chiming in. It's good to hear from someone on the front, that some places still enjoy freedom. Please post any pictures you have!

btw, Have you heard about the toxic gases that are going to reach your shores soon?

I really do hope the media is at least giving you guys a heads up

EPA (Environmental Protection Agency), just released the results of their atmospheric tests at ground zero and they are downright scary.

Three very dangerous gases (Hydrogen Sulfide, Benzine & Methylene Chloride) have been recorded at concentrations which are 100+ times the maximum safe level for human inhalation! Exposure to these airborne toxins may result in:

> Respiratory illness
> kidney failure
> birth defects
> brain disorders
> incapacitation, and/or death

I've seen a few news reports of fishermen/cleanup workers getting violently ill, but no mention of EPA's findings.

For any of you living near the Gulf area, please consult this map on a daily basis and see what levels are like near your town. With any luck the wind will blow it out to sea, but at the very least you should be informed!

http://gulfcoast.airnowtech.org/

Also I hope that more of you chime in like Warrior74 so we get a clearer picture of what's happening done there. Much love and support to our people's down south. I will be praying for you!

BP is paying clean-up crews $19-$30 an hour here in North Florida. That's damn good money, and much needed by many.

People don't know how bad this could get. The price of gasoline could hit $10 a gallon, trucks won't be able to transport food into your cities, people in the gulf could be evacuated.

We are talking about food riots, race riots, violence, loss of jobs, people not being able to afford to drive to work.

TyTe,

They are paying decent wages, but don't ask them for protection against the elements. Cleanup workers are getting sick as dogs left and right and BP says it must be food poison, refusing to offer masks or other protective garments.

They also make you sign a health waiver so you can't sue them, and in some places a non-disclosure agreement so you can't tell anyone what you see.

IOW, it's not just your work they are paying for

I don't know anything about that. I will say that there are some real sorry ass human beings working on these clean-up crews. We're talking about a lot of people who didn't have a job for a reason. I wouldn't be surprised if some of them were trying to get over on BP. "I feel sick." Sure you do, b1tch. People love milking the system.

I'm down in FL this weekend and know some people working cleanup. They are making a decent wage. Been to Okaloosa Island and Destin didn't notice too much, but went to Pensacola today and saw cleanup crews and extremely close to the beaches about half a mile maybe even less off shore they had it blocked off. Still saw tons of people out there having a good time enjoying the beach.

The way I'm seeing this is that BP is gonna be fine as a company and I wouldn't advise against dumping the stock if you own it. With this 20 billion they have agreed to pay at 5billion a year for 4 years as a starting point takes off a lot of pressure for the next 4 years. Claims will be directed towards that fund. They will probably give more change for awhile after that maybe 7-10 years tops. Which will be nothing to them. Those seeking damages will be dealing with this fund and so much litigation. BP has to be laughing at all this.

Like I said in another thread, if you really think this is going to destroy the price of oil, buy some futures and get rich.

I don't it will. No entity can predict the future better than the raw, un-spun financial markets. And the price of a barrel of oil a year from now according to the financial markets is only slightly higher than today.

Personally, I suspect this is a perfect storm of the media and the Obama administration. Obama's advisor said "You should never let a good crisis go to waste."

Combine that with Obama's desperate need to take the attention off the fledgling economy, which won't likely be helped by his trillion dollar stimulus, the lackluster response to his massive health care plan,

AND

the media's absolute love for crisis, doom, and evil corporate conspiracies, and you've got a perfect recipe for ALL DOOM, ALL THE TIME.

especially for all you Alex Jones fans.

Also, if you are a big, powerful, financially successful company, you are going to incur many people's wrath regardless of what you do.

I'm sure that if ten or fifteen years ago BP decided to develop state of the art clean up material "just in case," and subsequently passed on the cost of this R and D to the end user, they would likely have been up in arms at the higher price of gas, perhaps even claiming that it was all a scam to line their evil pockets.

Just be careful no to let The Chosen One hijack your anger and con you into another economy killing, future money spending, government sponsored ponzi scheme.

You are correct. The impact on oil prices is insignificant. Deep sea drilling (which Obama might set up a moratorium) accounts for only 5% of US oil production, and as a fraction of global production, it is infinitesimal.

People need to do some due diligence before jumping to conclusions.
