What does "metrosexuality* (which is just a stupid media buzzword, IMO) have to do with one's level of manliness?

Vin Diesel wears leather pants.
Andre from Outkast wears nail polish.
Bill Clinton pays $150 for his haircut.
Damon Dash and The Big Tymerz (spelling) get regular manicures and pedicures.

Are they less "manly"? Walk up to Vin Diesel, and tell him he's a sissy. See what happens.

The only thing that makes you gay is being attracted to men. James Dean, the paragon of manliness to 1950's teens was gay (actually, bisexual, which in my opinion is nothing more than opportunistic...I dont really know if I believe you can truly be bisexual.) But everyone and his brother on this board wants to be James Dean...strange.

I'm no AFC. I'm as manly as anyone else here. I'll spend $400 on a pair of shoes, or get my eyebrows waxed, or drive a Mini Cooper. But at the end of the day, a $12 haircut, copy of "Juggs" and a pickup truck doesn't make anyone more masculine than I am.

Mr. Latte,

I'm gonna have to debate what you just said as being manly.
I'm as manly as anyone else here. I'll spend $400 on a pair of shoes, or get my eyebrows waxed, or drive a Mini Cooper
. Personally, there is nothing manly with this statement.

This is exactly what needs to be touched on. Purchasing a pair of $400.00 dollar shoes, and getting your eyebrows waxed is something that would get your ass kicked anywhere (ie. prior to 1990s) (1900-1990s).) This is the issue right here. Getting manicures, pedicures, ur nails done, eyebrows waxed, sipping Cafe Latte Grandes, Cappucinos, and overall purchasing women products is not being a man. WAKE UP! Next thing we know, we'll all be crowding into the bathroom together and gossiping about girls to eachother.

Not a man by whose standards? I'm attracted to women, women are attracted to me. I believe in owning the best I can afford. I don't buy $50 shoes because they're not well made, and not stylish. I wax my eyebrows because it improves my looks. Why do you comb your hair? Because it makes you look better.

There are many cultural and regional differences, I know. Where you're from, maybe it's "gay" to shave your legs. Here in Miami, the straightest of the straight shaves chests, arms, legs, etc. It's nothing for a guy to go to the spa for the day. It's accepted here. When I start dating men, feel free to call me gay, but for now, I'm no less a man than you. We're cool.

I personaly don't see the big deal about being in a bathroom and discussing da brauds you are with either, you're not giggling and gossiping...

As long as Mr.Latte doesn't speak with a soft voice and carry himself like a homo-sexual, as long as Mr.Latte is a man of action and has a backbone he's just as much a man as you if not more...

Open your mind!, yes new age... Besides men using female products is only recently coming out of the closette, its always been happning through out time its just now people are talking about it openly, just like everything else.

Anyways what you wear, buy, how you dress or chose to create your appearance has little to do with your sexual character base or lack there of. :D

If you da man, you da man. Simple.

either that or the fear and closedmindedness of others :) Like I said this isn't a new concept, even back in the 20's men used to buy extremely expensive suits, shoes, hats, ties, dress shirts, some men wore make up for **** sakes, look back to greece, rome, egypt like I said.... France back in the 18 19th century as well... !?! notice anything !!? Thats right its been happening ALL along! and "real" men continue to be "real men"...

Other men, feminised men, AFC men, men who have no backbone have also always existed, homes torn apart, countries gone to war over these men whos brains were washed by women.

Dude,

the day i begin to wear makeup, start shaving my legs, armpits, chest, back, getting my nails done, getting my eyebrows waxed, begin gettting weekly massages, pedicures, manicures, than you can officialy say that i'm a feminizied male.

Or essentially, a metrosexual.

Well doing all of those things would be certainly taking it too far and being a metro sexual, BUT shaving hair and buying nice clothing is no where near that extent.

Everything is relative, if you spend TOO much time fussing about your nails massages and what not, then I would say thats crossing the line.

Do you guys realise, that so many of you pretending not to be a push over really aren't doing anything different? Now you're simply trying so hard NOT to be push-overs, that you find yoruself treading on egg-shells, when to call, what to say Oh my!! how do i get her to keep her high IL in me, wooh im scurred, what ever will I do!.

Be yourself, Be your OWN man, then the rest comes naturally.
Yes backbone = confidence, confidence in your action and confidence that life will bring to you that which you NEED. :D
Well one thing is for certain.

Spending your time on the internet trying to figure out how to be a man is definately not very masculine.

Think about what is going on right here on this website everyday. A bunch of chumps who have nothing better to do but come here and whine about their confidence problems and lack of success with women. Every possible topic of discussion has been exhausted and analyzed to death over and over. It's very rare to see a new idea or topic. If anything this forum is very "feminine"
and very "pvssy". You don't think so? Well find a real *Man* and tell him about this site and that you spend your time on your computer trying to learn about confidence and women. Tell him that you learned about how to be a man on the internet.

Look at Pook's "Be a Man" or any other post on the topic.
A "Real Man" is above all this crap that gets discussed around here. A Real Man isn't worried about having women around. Which is precisely why he is irresitible to them.

Don't get me wrong this site and forum will definately open some people's eyes and help them get their lives on the right track.

However, the more time you spend here, the less time you spend becoming a man.

The two are inversly proportional.

Well giving advise is different from constantly asking for it but I do agree, there isnt much wrong with discussion though, I do agree with the whining, but noobs will be noobs.

Being a noob makes no difference.

Coming here day after day and discussing all this crap is no different than your sister's slumber party with all the girls doing each other's hair and talking about which boys they think are cute and who likes who and which clothes look best.

Its a bunch of guys acting like chicks. Don't ya think?

No not really, here people discuss logically, there is a point there is a true deep analytical point to most of the discussions, people here share experiences, talk about things with substance, help eachother out.... many people here got burned by women and are trying to figure it all out. S'all good.

makes you no less of a man as long as you get OUT there and don't sit on your ass ALL day.

But NO in no way is this similar to anything women do, go to the badgirlswirl forums and see what type of discussion they have!

meaningless pointless, babble dribble, complaining, with little to no substance analysis or help, they complain and bash men, talk about shopping and gossip.

No my friend what is done here is different. Here brothers help eachother out, people with more experience and knowledge simply share the luv... S'all good.

Self-improvement is always a good thing, hence the reason why we are all here. Also, debating is a manly thing. Standing up for what you believe in, is the most manly thing a man can do.

If these boards were truly feminine, then we would be debating what type of shampoo product yields the best results. What kind of conditioner is best at treating split ends or whatever man. I believe that the majority of males here have a goal of trying to snag as many woman as they can. A little help and advice never hurts.

Is it different?

Look at the topics of Discussion for example.

1. Does she like me?
2. When should I call?
3. My ex dumped me. :(
4. Should I kiss her?
5. My friends gf touched me.
6. What should I do?
7. She started drinking the same brand pop as me...Does she like me?
8. What clothes should I wear?
9. What music should I listen to?
10. Here's what happened last night did I do the right thing?
11. I did this, she did that, what does it all mean?
12. How come she doesn't like me?
13. I saw a cute girl should I talk to her?
14. How do I talk to a girl?
15. How do I overcome my fear?

Its all screams PPPPPVVVVVVSSSSSSSYYYYYYY!!!!!

LOL WTF? Anyone who can buy 3 pairs of shoes for the price that I bought my car for is a FREAK (it's no crap car either, it's a 13 year old Honda Civic that runs as if it were 10 years newer than it is). *shrugs* I'll take my 60 dollar shoes, 9 dollar barber shop cuts, and nice-but-not-expensive clothes any day, as well as my cavemanish body hair :)
