Looks: Everyone falls into 1 of 4 categories.

Based on all of my observations on how people look.

I think people aged 18-35 (we all become uglier after 35) can fall into 1 of 4 different categories when it comes to looks. People usually date within their category.

Category 1: People who are ugly. These people are noticably ugly and when these people are seen, many people will do a double take at their ugly face. **Very few men and women fall into this category, maybe 1 in 25 or so.

Category 2: Average looking. These people are not ugly, but are NOT attractive looking either. These people are kind of just there. Alot of people fall into this category, maybe 11 in 25 or close to half.

Category 3: Attractive looking. These people have an attractive looking appearance, but they are NOT strikingly handsome or pretty. Alot of people fall into this category as well, maybe 12 in 25 or close to half

Category 4: Extremely attractive looking. These are people who are strikingly attractive and get noticed everywhere they go. They have perfect bodies and perfectly balanced features. E.g. an extremely handsome man will even get noticed by other men (not in a sexual way of course). Like Category 1 people, those in this group are rare, maybe 1 in 25 or so.

So here you have it, everyone falls into these 4 categories, but please note Categories 2 and 3 are subjective according to a persons taste. Most people are more comfortable dating within "their category" but people will date one up or down in their category (E.g. You will see Category 1's with Category 2's etc.) However, you WILL RARELY see two couples who are two categories away or more from each other. E.g, You won't see many Category 2 men dating Category 4 women.

I think this theory is genius. I like to see myself as a Category 3, but some might put me in Category 2. I know I am not a 1 or a 4, hence I know I CANNOT get a Category 4 woman.

I don't like these looks scales and whatever. Attraction is not a choice, it's been proven to me. Problems with scales is that you choose, when you can't choose, because attraction is not a choice..

I don't know how else to explain it. Girl at the mall, she's either someone I want to know or not, that's all. 1 or 0.


The 1 to 10 is more for bragging than practical use.

excellent theory......there are probably many many theories that could be written about looks and they will all agree with each other for the most part.

Anyhow, we all know looks DO matter.
BUT, the real question now is HOW MUCH?

Like, what % of appearance is comprised of physical looks...as opposed to style? 60%? 50%?
Then, what % of attractiveness is comprised of appearance...vs personality, power, etc? 50%?

Let's assume 50% each as an example. That would mean that physical looks comprise 25% of your overall attractiveness.
I'm not sure what the exact breakdown and numbers are, but I think this is a more useful question than "do looks matter?"

And if looks are only around 25%...that means 75% of your attractiveness is basically improvable. Which explains how an ugly guy like Jordan Bratman can still bag a hottie like Xtina. Obviously, he's compensating for his lack of looks in the other 75% of departments.

Looks, you can only look good to a maximum.

Personaility, an addictive personaility catches attention, and the mind.

Game, just to save your pathetic little ass when they start wondering about you.

That's it. You have your base looks, with a little bit of wiggle room. Your personality, if you got it down right, will attract a lot of people's attention (and justly, some sexual), and your little knowledge of game will just save your ass, or help you out.

Point is, the whole dating thing, it's all about numbers (noise). Looks, personality and game just increase your 'signal' to noise ratio.

However, the OPs rating system on looks, good job. You're spot on with the 4 cats. The whole cat 4 girls...that part sucks and can lick my nuts, because attraction is a strange science, for the reasons above.

okay, but all this "attraction isnt a choice" and "shes either into you or not" doesnt explain WHY. key word ::WHY::

what you look like is part of why, and an attractiveness scale is definitely relevant.

I do like this theory of Mahon's, his attractiveness scale.

But Id have to say #4 is subjective too to a degree. You can look like a male model italian stallion, but there will still be a small percentage of women out there who think youre fugly. There is no way to guarantee that a woman will think youre good looking.

all evidence is pointing to money being the most likely reason Jordan Bratman is with Xtina, not an exceptional personality. In fact, I havent seen any evidence that indicates hes got a great personality.

Genetics is key. Plain and simple. Travel a little. You will notice how girls in some parts of the world are just better looking. Best looking ones are in Ukraine. The vast majority of American girls are ugly. Even if they have ok genetics they don't take care of themselves. Most need to lose weight and they don't seem to spend much time in front of the mirror. American guys are MUCH prettier looking than the females. A lot of dudes workout. They use gay skin products. I could go on. It is sad when you go to the mall in America on the weekend and notice the GUYS before the girls. Role reversal is when western females first lands in Kyiv. They all mention how beautiful the girls are. No mention about the guys though .

I would heavily disagree about guys over 35. Males age well. Most men look their best at around 40. Most females look their best before 22. Simple as that. Again, you continue to lie to yourselves. Most 19 year old girls I know would prefer a 40 year old man over a 19 year old guy. Simple as that. Every 40 year old guy (I'm much younger than that myself) I know would prefer a 19 year old over a 40 year old. In America you have no chance if you are such a guy. Place you in Odessa and you would quit fooling yourselves.

Falling in love with looks is one reason why the divorce rate is so high in America. The looks don't last. There has to be some depth. In saying that, how in God's good name could any of you find the average American broad attractive? Yeah, call me a hater. At least I know what I am talking about.

first of all, my dad is 46 and looks better than I do (seriously).. and I'm in hella shape, so you can throw that out the window. his wife (my stepmom ) is 32, and we had to tie him down to the cross to get him to marry her.. and I love my dad and all, but there not ever be a situation where she comes on to me and we are alone. I have an attractive stepmom.

he isn't a health nut by any means, but he isn't the avg guy either. he "monitors" what he eats.. potatoes, meat, a couple of beers every night.. hits the gym 2 nights a week..but he's been doing it since before I was born. He can't be more than 12-13 % BF, and if I'm that good looking when I'm his age, I'm golden.

I've never been an unattractive guy.. I'm handsome, I'm blessed with good genes.. however when I was dirt poor about 4 years ago, fat *****es wouldn't even stop to talk to me. I had no value to anyone.

the problem as always, is men try to look though a womans eyes like a man would look at a woman. it doesn' twork like that. If a womans hot, she's hot. Trailer trash even has it's on genra

alot of guys are too simple minded, and must exert to the "one or the other" mindset but in reality it's a mixture of the two. My general rule of thumb, and most women agree, is that she can't be thrown off by the thought of having sex with you. It's really that simple.

there are some women I am not repulsed by the thought of, but I won't go out of my way to date.

for a woman, as long as you pass the throwup test, you still have hope.. however the higher grade you get the better.

however a woman goes for a mans "look".. his style, his presence's... that doesn't mean you can have a pot belly and have a nice suit.. you are sending a contradictory message, like you are fake. Take care of yourself, keep in some type of shape, wear decent clothes... your clothes should tell alot about who you are.

Is she asshamed to tell her friends that she sucked you off? or is she proud?

does she hide when she see you when she is with her friends, or does she start giggling and blushing and pointing out her latest "conquest"?

your goal should to make the way you look not an issue.
