If you fail to be inspired ... lack any kind of imagination.
Amazingly enough some people can imagine their own life changing inspirations without opening their head and letting Hollywood dump crap inside. Some others cannot.

Doesn't matter, "Hollywood" is a placeholder for "organized modern thought controlled media outlets", I use it because it rolls off the keyboard a lot nicer. I love movies, but when people start thinking that they're anything beyond entertainment real problems start.

Most real problems can't be solved neatly. Some don't lend themselves to any real solution. Almost NONE can be worked out in 105 minutes. Movie makers are STORYTELLERS, and as such only have the most tenuous of links with reality.

When a person loses sight of that it's a bad thing. Real life is complicated and does not come with an uplifting soundtrack.

Just wanna add American Beauty to the list.

The transformation of Lester (Kevin Spacey) from a submissive wimp to a man in control of his own experience is very powerful.

This movie shows a total DJ who predicts the actions of AFC's in certain senerios to acheive the goals he is trying to reach. It is a classic.

Can someone recommend the top 5 from each list please?
I'm pretty busy and it would take me over a year to get through that beast of a list.
I'd like something that adjusts your mindset, gives you a few techniques and inspires and motivates you :)

Thanks in advance

You also forgot Blow w/ Johney Depp
I don't get why so many people like Blow, I watched and it had nothing special. Depp's acting was ok in the movie, but the whole story was so stupid. Didn't his wife or mom rat him out?

The Departed was another great movie, also Goodfellas!

The only way that movies changed my life is the aggravation they cause by being so bad and how fat I got while sitting there trying to be inspired by trite bullsh1t like Fight Club, which was nothing more than a "haha look dudes are getting punched i bet that hurts" movie, not an inspiring greek tragedy to go around quoting ad nauseum.

I was very impressed with Matt Damon in the Departed. Also if you want to check out a great Chinese trilogy that The Departed is based on, check out Infernal Affairs, it's great. I believe Scorsese is in the middle of making part two to the departed right now.

Other mentionable movies are...
American Psycho
The Prestige (although not that great of a movie, Christian Bale is excellent in how he deals with his wife, maybe a little overboard.lol)
Most anything with Jack Nicholson is good (Carnal Knowledge, Wolf, Witches of Eastwick)
Alfie (The original. I haven't seen the new one, but Michael Cain is quite good in this)
2046 (another movie from Hong Kong, The main male character is pretty amazing in the way he handles woman)
Gladiator
Fight Club
The hbo tv show Entourage is pretty good.

Even though Tom Cruise totally AFC'd in this movie....Vanilla Sky, I thought the overall message was awesome.

"Every second that passes was another chance to turn it all around."
Lol it annoys me when any movies have AFCs getting laid, it goes against my view of life :p Anyway, yes, the message was cool :D

Hey, find a movie with a slightly over-arrogant lead character, and watch the film, watch it more than once, then BE that guy, really think, "what would *blah blah* do"... There are a couple of examples of movies like this in David DeAngelo's "Double Your Dating"...
