Theres a lot of hype around this album...It just leaked the other day and im listening to it now..ive listened to a few tracks and it seems pretty good...there are some hot tracks on there especially the first one titled "3 peat"...but not as good as it was hyped up to be which it was to be a Classic.

The guys on the net and on realraptalk.com were going crazy over it...arguing back and forth about an album they havent even heard yet saying this person has it and no he doesnt and it hasnt leaked yet..blah blah...

Now that the album has leaked...what do you guys think of it? I may have downloaded it but when its released on June 10th...i will buy it out of respect for Lil Wayne as a working artist. He deserves my money. I just couldnt wait to listen to it.

I've only listened to a couple of songs on the album but I liked what I heard. The only thing I don't really like is Lil Wayne himself; I think he has an ugly voice. Though I'm liking some of the hip hop albums that have been coming out lately, such as Graduation and Love and Hate by Kayne West and The Dream. Most of the songs on their albums are good. Before I would buy a CD and would only listen to like only 3 or 4 of the songs, but now most of the songs are worth hearing.

Lil Wayne is still my favourite rapper but he's fallen off a little bit since Tha Carter II. I don't really like that T-Pain voice thing he has going on, he released several songs with the vocoder thing that were lyrically the worst he's ever done but they didn't make the album. ('Me and My Drank' being the worst one that comes to mind) That one song that he did with T-Pain, 'Got Money' was pretty weak though and not only did it make the album but it's going to be his 3rd single which was a disappointment. Lollipop was catchy but still not the real Lil Wayne that his fans who appreciate his lyrical work want to see.

Thank god that song with Nelly Furtado and Justin Timberlake didn't make it though... ugh. Nothing against them but they aren't meant to be on rap tracks.

I like Tha Carter III, it lived up to my expectations but I still think Tha Carter II is still his best work to date. 'Mr. Carter' with Jay-Z is my favourite song but I have only heard about half the album so far.

As much as I love Weezy and this album I don't know if it is a classic. If only it hadn't leaked because some of the leaked material from last year was great. I think he has left the door open for Game or T.I. to top his album this year.

"3 peat" and "Nothin On Me" are easily the 2 hardest tracks ive heard in awhile. That Phone Home song is nuts too..so is the song "Im Me" which was leaked like last year (I think it was supposed to be the original intro) is on the bonus disc and that song is crazy too.

That's actually my all-time favourite Lil Wayne song. He released it on a mixtape even before the album was leaked.

Good to hear that the best is yet to come - I haven't heard those 3 songs that you mentioned. You can never judge Wayne by his singles; his best stuff tends not to be the singles since they're usually just the stuff with the hot beat that will reach the top of the charts (for C2 it was Fireman and now it was Lollipop). That's also why his whole albums are great to listen to.

Can't wait to hear the rest of the album, hopefully he dropped that T-Pain voice BS for those tracks though.

Pretty much every song on the CD does NOT use the T-Pain voicecoder thing. A small part of Nothin on Me does, but it doesn't ruin the song in any way.

It doesn't matter how good-looking you are, how romantic you are, how funny you are... or anything else. If she doesn't have something INVESTED in you and the relationship, preferably quite a LOT invested, she'll dump you, without even the slightest hesitation, as soon as someone a little more "interesting" comes along.

Yeah I've downloaded the rest of the album and that was good to hear. "Mr. Carter" is a classic song but all in all this is still a solid album. Had this album been better Wayne could have solidified his claim as being the best rapper alive, but he's definitely fallen off a little since C2. He's still my favourite rapper though.

Anyway back to the vocoder thing, what a relief... I was listening to the stuff he was putting out before the album (like this) and it wasn't looking good, lol... That song was just one of many garbage songs he released before the album came out.

This goes as far as opinions, but Lil Wayne doesn't even touch guys like Snoop Dogg and Eminem. It was like when people thought 50 Cent was going to be a legend. When time passes by you will know the real ranking of a rapper.

I agree. I guess what I should have said is the best rapper "right now" because Wayne could have been that if C3 had been great. But it's not a classic (at least I doubt it will be) so it's still up for debate.

Even though I love Lil Wayne I acknowledge that there are others who have put out better music in their careers than he has so far. Jay-Z is another that comes to mind.

Yeah I agree with you on that, Lil Wayne is definitely one of the better rappers nowadays (is there even rappers today? most hip hop stuff is party music if anything). It seems like every time I listen to a new song, Lil Wayne is featured in it just like how T-Pain was in every popular song in 2007.

You're right man. "Mr. Carter" is one of the best songs on the album. Im really starting to like "Shoot Me Down" and "Tie My Hands", which is the collaboration with Robin Thicke too...

The more I listen to this album the more I like it. Yeah, I still think it falls short of its massive expectations but there are lots of solid tracks.

3 Peat, Phone Home, Shoot Me Down, Playing With Fire and A Milli are all pretty hot with classic Lil Wayne rhymes. I like Tie My Hands - it reminds me a lot of Shooter, his Robin Thicke collab from Carter II. Nothing On Me has good guest spots. Mr. Carter is still my hands-down favourite song but other than Got Money this is an all-around tight album in my opinion.

Got Money is a damn good song. A milli annoys me for some reason I don't know why so many people are liking it. Maybe it will grow on me.

If you haven't listened to the Kanye remix of Lollipop yet you need to

Got Money is going to be a chart topper but I just don't like how Lil Wayne goes away from what he does best and I hate how he uses that T-Pain voice vocoder thing. However there are lots of people out there who will love it for the sound and the T-Pain part so I can see where you're coming from.
(Although with that said, Lil Wayne and T-Pain could collaborate on a song about taking a sh*t and it would reach the #1 spot just because of who they are.)

As for A Milli, Lil Wayne goes back to his classic lyrical talent and is a beast on this song. But those who like the song aren't listening to it for its production, that's for sure... I'm not feeling the beat (yes it's annoying) and I think that might be what turns people off from the song.

I wonder if the original version of A Milli (the one featuring Cory Gunz) made the album, I hope it did. There are so many versions of that song and the Cory Gunz one is the best IMO. Not many people like Cory Gunz, myself included, but his verses trump Weezy's on this song.

I like the Kanye remix of Lollipop.

I have to agree I do like Cory Gunz on that track. Lyrically it's a pretty good song. It's that beat that makes me wanna shoot myself.

your right a Lil Wayne/T Pain combo would sky rocket just b/c it's the two of them.

If you look at it though over the last year T- Pain, Kanye, and Lil Wayne are probably the best artists. Kanye only put those two on his album b/c he felt that (He is too ****y and not a huge Kanye fan but lyrically he has stepped it up lately)

I'm not surprised the three are feeding off each other. It's very smart

He doesn't really rap about anything. Just the usual money, woman, and weed. But I can say that about most of these rappers. It just gets old. Real rap went back to the underground along time ago.
