He doesn't really rap about anything. Just the usual money, woman, and weed. But I can say that about most of these rappers. It just gets old. Real rap went back to the underground along time ago.
I agree. Most of the album, hes just freestyling throughout the whole song. The guys at Realraptalk.com were on his jock bad saying how good the album was going to be and that it was going to be the best ever and blah blah.

When it came out (leaked) everyone shut up and were'nt raving anymore once they heard it. Production on it was good, but if you really listen to the lyrics...hes just blabbing on about nothing. But just listening to it is still enjoyable as long as the production is good. :D

This goes as far as opinions, but Lil Wayne doesn't even touch guys like Snoop Dogg and Eminem. It was like when people thought 50 Cent was going to be a legend. When time passes by you will know the real ranking of a rapper.
lol at 50 being a legend

who thought that? the man mumbles, not raps. and he's not even that good lyrically
lil wayne would destroy him

This is true. I like his creative metaphors though which separates him from most modern sh*tty rappers in my opinion.

One thing that annoys me about people (not referring to you) who hate on today's rappers is that they act like rapping about money, sex, and drugs is a new concept when it has actually been going on forever. Also, they say that only the underground guys rap about their lives. Lots of them are poor and rap about the struggle that defines their lives, while the mainstream rappers are rich and rap about their lavish lives and their money, cars, clothes, hoes, etc. So really both are rapping about their lives, just that their lives are so different.

Well it's not so much the content rather than, there's no soul anymore. True the concept is nothing new, but when it's obviously "formulated", thats when it becomes annoying. Hip hop lost it's creative factor in general. I miss the rap that had shock value, when you had to have good lyricism at least. And when you're used to hearing better, you're not gonna want to spend money on anything less.

I dl the album for a friend who is a Wayne fan and i heard it with him. The beats were good but i think he could have ripped those beats up better. Mr Carter was the jam though. Hova tore it up on that jam.
