Well I was going for the Pistons all the way but I think the Celtics will really win this. People are questioning how they are going to stop Kobe. How are the Lakers going to stop both Paul Pierce and Ray Allen? These two are the top perimeter players in the league. The Lakers played good enough defense on the Spurs and outplayed them offensively. With the Celtics you basically have three players that can be the main scoring option. Good enough defense against the Celtics isn't good enough. Pau Gasol didn't stop Duncan, he is absolutely not going to stop Garnett whose range is even farther than Duncan. And Lamar Odom isn't going to be able to abuse big men off the dribble like what he did against Carlos Boozer and Tim Duncan because Kevin Garnett will be able to keep up with him.

People like to rave on how the Celtics struggled against the Cavaliers and the Hawks. Newsflash, the Celtics have always struggled against teams that are athletic with good rebounders who can run. And unfortunately most of the teams of this mold are in the east, such as the Sixers, Wizards, Bobcats, Cavaliers, Magic, and Hawks. Five of those teams were in the playoffs. It's not that the Celtics aren't good, it's just that they have trouble with certain teams like how the Mavericks, despite being predicted to win it all last year, had trouble with the Warriors. The Celtics were able to beat the Pistons because of rebounding. Rasheed Wallace is at best an average rebounder and that is pretty bad coming from a championship contending team. He made Kendrick Perkins look like Moses Malone. I think the Lakers are a stronger rebounding team than the Pistons but the Pistons were still able to keep it close because of their defense. The Lakers aren't that good of a defensive team to stop Boston, though the Celtics are a great enough defensive team to stop the Lakers. Though it depends how well the Celtics defend Kobe Bryant.

That sucked. If you're a Laker fan, that sucked. Awesome that Boston got all the calls on home court. LA will beat them next game, then get all the calls in L.A.

Kobe wants this, and I want it for him. No rivalry. Lakers will win the next one and all subsequent boston/la matches. It is written.

Behold.

Kobe is not that great. He averages 30- 40% of his shots. Sure he takes TONS of shots and that's great I give him credit, but the more shots you take the more you are gonna make.

KG disappointed in the second half, but Pierce stepped up and Rondo showed he had balls the entire game. I think Rondo was most impressive tonight

I hope the Celtics keep this up! So far they haven't been beat by the Lakers this year in the regular or post season

It doesn't matter how good-looking you are, how romantic you are, how funny you are... or anything else. If she doesn't have something INVESTED in you and the relationship, preferably quite a LOT invested, she'll dump you, without even the slightest hesitation, as soon as someone a little more "interesting" comes along.

but when he's on fire, the guy's unguardable. one of the few allstars in the league that can take over a game by himself. and this year he finally learned how to pass

I watched the game at The Rack over here in the Valley. Lakers played like sht in the 4th quarter, freakin depressing. Vujacic, Radmonovich, and Kobe couldn't score and made some really stupid plays. what's funny is they were playing solid ball until Pierce went out on a wheelchair. That should've been a green light to take advantage and up the lead. Instead nothing happened

I think this series is gonna be decided by who outscores who. Pierce had only 3 points in the first half and the Lakers were up. Then he had a huge second half and the Lakers kept bricking everything and Celtics won by 10.

Your right about Kobe learning to pass. There were many times where he passed the ball instead of trying to take shots all the time in this last game.

It's a good thing Pierce stepped it up in the second half because KG went from 20 points in the first to only about 3 in the second.

Kobe takes all the shots when it's apparent that no one else is making shots. That's when he takes over.

Kobe does take a ton of shots, but that's when everyone else doesn't want to take the shot. If you watched game 1 everyone was just giving kobe the ball lamar and gasol didn't want the ball at all. I didn't even notice lamar odom in the game how bad he played. Lakers will still win the series, they had the game until pierce went nuts in the third quarter. I'm not worried about kg because he isn't a selfish player.

Kobe has already won 3 titles, and is a 46% career shooter.

Not quite as high as Magic or Jordan, but he takes and makes some of the toughest shots I've ever seen a NBA player make in 25+ years of watching NBA basketball.

Lakers just need to win 1 of the first 2 games in Boston.

They didn't win the first game, which would have been preferable, but they will head home for 3 straight games with the series tied at 1-1

Lakers win game 7 in Boston

wow, 4 point game with a minute left... huge comeback.

edit: Lakers have to win all 3 in LA now. At least they'll be getting the calls this time.

Hopefully home court will get them back in the zone. All of the teams have been turning it on home court, guess it's not too suprising that the celtics dominated in the garden for the finals. The bench help from the celtics was the deal sealer for game 2.

Lets see how well they do in laker land though. If they go down 0-3 then all might be lost.

I'm not one to complain about officiating, but it was utterly atrocious in this game.

Kobe gets two cheap fouls in the first 8-10 minutes and has to sit, and Boston had a 36-3 FT advantage midway thru the 3rd quarter.

36-3 - that's not a typo.

I've never seen such a disparity in FT's in nearly 30 years of watching NBA basketball.

Yeah, the Celts were on fire from 3 pt range, but they also finished with 28 more FT's then the Lakers, and the Lakers still almost pulled it out at the end.

Hard to win when the other team has a 28 FT advantage.

Even my friend who is a huge Laker hater called me tonight and said they got screwed.

Pro sports is becoming as bad as Boxing, which I stopped watching about 15 years ago due to the blatant fixed fights, and the NBA and NFL are next...

At this point you probably have a woman (or multiple women) chasing you around, calling you all the time, wanting to be with you. So let's talk about how to KEEP a woman interested in you once you have her. This is BIG! There is nothing worse than getting dumped by a woman that you really, really like.
