Just got hired by 7/11 ! but...its hard, lol

ok so yesterday was my first day of working at 7/11 im doing training now, their training is done on a computer, and it takes like 1 day and a half, i should finish it today.

Everything is cool but, the hard part for me its working the register, i havent got any hands on yet on working the register, but they simulate it on the computer, and it seems like its gonna be hard, there are a whole bunch of buttons and for every individual donut or drink u buy there is one button for them, i dont even know the name of the drinks or nothing, so ima be struggling on that, i cant picture myself working the register, and with like 5 people waiting in line, cause im messing up, man...

Does anybody have any tips/ideas in how to get good with the register, specially with checks and credit card purchases, anybody worked before a register? cause i have never.

they always have two people at the register (my local 7/11) so don't worry about it, there will be someone to help, or pickup the slack.

Ahh yes the infamous scanner. Scan it 3 times until you have to punch in the keycode anyways. Technology for the win

it takes practice, youll get the hang of it within 10 workdays of working mostly alone, i promise.

yeah , they do have a scanner, but for certain items like, donuts, slurpys and others there is no barcode on them and u have to manually do it on the computer, i practiced today again on the computer, "simulated" and i feel better, but im still kinda nervous, tomorrow will be my first real day of work, since all the seating on the back on the computer, and messing up as many times as i want is over, now the real thing starts.

Ill let yall know how it went, there is this one fine ass chick working in there though....boy and im working with her and another person on sunday and just her and me on monday.

I believe that ima like this job though

No offense, but it's 7/11. If a single mother of 5 children who only has a 7th grade education (the average older employee) can figure it out I'm sure that you're going to have no difficulty at all. Before long it'll become second nature - though hopefully you'll move to a better job before that happens.

as a single mother of 5 children, who works at 7/11 and ONLY has a 7th grade education. I take offence. Plain&Simple, I sympathize with you, it is very difficult, i get my gold watch next year and I still hit the coke button instead of diet coke sometimes.

oh and diablo, i mean this is only my second job, before this i was a dishwasher at a kitchen, where they treated everybody and specially us dishwashers like straight sh1t, and getting paid minimum wage, so i guess this is a few steps betterfor now

Well im back from work now, i went in at 6 am got out at 2pm, well the first real day of work.
It went ok, better than i expected it, at the end i asked the manager how i cause i thought that i was messing up, he said not to worry, that its only my first day and thats why i was a lilttle offguard, and lost, but that i should pick it up in no time.

the register wasnt as hard as i thought neither.

I'll see how it goes.

thats not that bad a job
lol. im ringing bells for the salvation army for cash this fall/winter
its easy, not that bad and i dont have to work more than 5 hours a day
just easy quick cahs for me
jobs are for people with time

I know im be getting numbers, but i want preety ladies to walk in damn it
