How accustomed are you to sh1tting your pants?WhitePimp said:Unreal. I don't think I've ever heard of an 8.9 scale earthquake happening in recent times. Even though my death would be assured, I would love to see what it looks like to have a gigantic wave barreling towards me.

Do not be too easy. If you are too easy to get, she will not want you. If you are too easy to keep, she will lose interest in you. If you are too easy to control, she will not respect you.

Exactly, the earthquake people have been expecting since 1910.f283000 said:What happened to japan is nothing. While the quake is huge their buildings were made to survive earthquakes.
What's really going to be bad is the "big one" in california. They haven't done jack to prepare and their buildings are nowhere near earthquake proof as japans.
Expect nothing less than total destruction mad max style apocalypse stuff.
I'm sure the free market will fix that one. Who needs government enforced building codes? It's Amurica gosh darnit, not some pasy ass socialist country.f283000 said:What's really going to be bad is the "big one" in california. This lol. Even in my middle school Earth Science they were saying California lies on a really large fault thats set to move at some point and cause a massive separation/earthquake that will destroy California. We know its going to happen the only question is the date and how many will be hurt.Marvin Gaye said:Exactly, the earthquake people have been expecting since 1910.
You mean optional building codes. Like optional safety codes, and optional health codes for restaurants. Those are the best restaurants, aren't they?Danger said:Free Markets can have building codes.
You mean cynical. Unlesss of course you would like to point out what views in my post you think are extremist. Is it suggesting that building codes are a good thing? Making sarcastic comments of American views on socialism? Or is it because I disagree with your opinion and you have no clever comeback and then you go to the extreme yourself? No need to be so extremist.
Oh yes. Of course the US government caused the earthquake. Because earthquakes in Japan aren't a common occurrence.f283000 said:
That's not how currencies work. Currencies have value RELAITVE TO EACH OTHER. While the dollar may gain some value compared to the yen, it's still toilet paper compared to the rest of the currencies.Drdeee said:Prior to quake yen was most stable and attracted investors. Now, watch for USD to rise in value and people invest in it. I can see the dollar go up in value a bit.
This sounds interesting. Please post your references and the breakdown of their finances if possible. As far as red cross goes, do not give them your money, they love to steal. After 9/11 American Red Cross collected $564 million, and only $154 were ever distributed.
The Red Cross is a very busy organization and they do work everywhere. It's possible some of the funds were used in other regions. We can only know for sure by looking at their finances. Thanks to regulations, they have to use GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) so it would be difficult to cook the books and get away with fraud. After 1989 San Francisco quake Red Cross passed on only $10 million of the $50 million that have been raised.... Don't let yourself be taken advantage of by crooks disguised under humanitarian umbrella.
