I'm not surprised. In the 2010s, when I went out on the night of January 1 in Dallas, I found it dead and women were no more receptive that night than other regular nights during the year.

That's great. I think you did the right thing. NYE is the night of December 31. I agree that the night of December 31 (NYE) is amaetur night. This thread is about the night of January 1, last night. The first night out after the beginning of the year. The night of January 1 is supposed to have a different audience than amateur hour on December 31.

That's why Roosh originally wrote the article about the night of January 1 back in February 2011. He was making the point that the night of January 1 was an overlooked night in terms of getting laid via nightlife. He had personal success with it and it was an uncommon take. At the time I read the article, it was so persuasive to me that I tried it and even tried it a 2nd time. Both times it was dead and a not so good experience. It's possible I chose poorly on venues but I was going to venues in the most active parts of the city.

New Orleans is a dangerous city in general. It's a high crime place due to the poverty of the area.

I went to New Orleans and went to French Quarter. I was there during a random weekend with no special events. It was wild. Women will flash their tits for beads year round in the French Quarter. I saw a lot of breasts that weekend.

If a random weekend with no special events was wild, I could not imagine Fat Tuesday or the 1-2 weeks leading up to Fat Tuesday as the whole Mardi Gras season. Fat Tuesday on the French Quarter has to be insane and not in a good way. It might not be ideal for getting poontang, though it's possible to get a ******* or a quickie in a back alley. Of course, in those back alleys in the French Quarter, people are urinating and vomiting too. Privacy is difficult to get in a back alley.

Pulling someone to a hotel room in New Orleans could happen or it could be possible to get a hook up within your own hotel as the logistics on that could work.

In cities besides New Orleans, there are Fat Tuesday celebrations at various bars. It's often more subdued because mostly everyone works on Ash Wednesday. It can't be compared to the Saturday of Halloween weekend or the night before Thanksgiving all too well.

I would say private parties are a safer bet cause you have the comfort of the safer environment, better logistic while girls have lower inhibitions due to the maska and make ups.

Me personally I enjoyed a lot halloween 2013 but probably cause I was in the right place and the right moment...and I was in my 20s.

I have always preferred going out on NYD as opposed to NYE, sit, read the paper, reflect on the previous year and watch football. Most people out on NYD are the ones who are up to starting the year afresh, and not wasted from the night before. Much more peaceful and sociable on NYD, where NYE is just a messy drunken cliché. I did meet a really nice girl once but had somewhere else to be and didn't act on it
