Although I know that the author of "Natural Cures They Don't Want You To Know About" ~ by Kevin Trudeau, is more likely a big scammer trying to make money (since most of his information requires you to buy an expensive subscription to his website even after buying his book), can some of the things that he says about the FDA actually be true?

Is there really a natural cure for cancer, disease, and any other type of sickness out there, but is just being held back from the public by the drug industry?

I've done a few searches on eliminating cancers naturally, and a lot of these "herbalists" believe that chemotherapy does nothing but make your body even sicker, and that there are natural ways of eventually eliminating cancer from your body. I've also read that theres a cure for diabetes, but drug companies will not release it for the sake of continuing their sales on insulin. What do you guys think?

Do you think that there's actually more that WE should know about, but dont? Would drug companies really hold back on peoples' well being for the sake of business?

THis is not news to me. The medical industry was made to keep people sick cause without sick folks there is no business! This is why they allow industry to poison our food with chemicals and genetically modified goods. The sicker we are, the richer they get!

Perfect example:

My mom got really bad gallstones once. The doctors precribed surgery and shortly afterward removed her gall bladder. She had medical coverage but still had to pay $800 out of pocket.

My sister got the same diagnosis years later, but she is a bit more skeptical of doctors and did some research to find a better cure. She ended up doing a liver flush diet..which is a one-day fast followed by drinking a special concoction before bed. She painlessly crapped out all of her stones the following morning and when she went back to the doctors, they were AMAZED. She managed to keep her gall bladder and her money.

It's not the doctors faults as much as it is the industry's...they are the ones who write the books from which the doctors study. It's all a very clever scam that few people ever question.

Kevin Trudeau is a con man. He is a convicted felon, including credit card fraud and operating an illegal pyramid scheme. Because of a loooong history of peddling various bogus products, including “Mega Memory” and “coral calcium”, the Federal Trade Commission has banned him for life from selling any products or producing or appearing in any infomercials, except books and newsletters of informational purposes. His “book” does not list any “cures”, claims that the reason why people get disease is because few people walk on the ground with their feet and thus don’t tap into the earth’s magnetic field, claims that the sun is harmless and it’s sunblock which causes cancer, claims that coral calcium cures cancer, claims that cancer can be cured by diet, claims that women’s breasts contain rocket fuel, and other absolute absurdities. Trudeau wiggled around the letter of the law by not referring to any specific products in his book.

http://www.quackwatch.org/01QuackeryRelatedTopics/DSH/coral.html
http://www.quackwatch.org/01QuackeryRelatedTopics/DSH/coral2.html

But within his latest scam, Trudeau cleverly pulls one of the oldest tricks in the scam artist’s playbook, to say he’s the underdog and assert there’s a government conspiracy to silence him.

http://www.quackwatch.org/01QuackeryRelatedTopics/signs.html
Excerpts from Seven Warning Signs of Bogus Science

1. The discoverer pitches the claim directly to the media.
Some scientific claims avoid even the scrutiny of reporters by appearing in paid commercial advertisements. A health-food company marketed a dietary supplement called Vitamin O in full-page newspaper ads. Vitamin O turned out to be ordinary salt water.

2. The discoverer says that a powerful establishment is trying to suppress his or her work.
The idea is that the establishment will presumably stop at nothing to suppress discoveries that might shift the balance of wealth and power in society. Often, the discoverer describes mainstream science as part of a larger conspiracy that includes industry and government.

5. The discoverer says a belief is credible because it has endured for centuries.
There is a persistent myth that hundreds or even thousands of years ago, long before anyone knew that blood circulates throughout the body, or that germs cause disease, our ancestors possessed miraculous remedies that modern science cannot understand. Much of what is termed "alternative medicine" is part of that myth.
oOh Nasty:
Is there really a natural cure for cancer, disease, and any other type of sicknesses out there, but is just being held back from the public by the drug industry?
No, there is no conspiracy. There are three factors which heavily speak against this:

1) Drug companies answer to stockholders. If the medicines are ineffective, the company fails.
2) Doctors are people, too. They have loved ones inflicted with diseases and they, too, will become inflicted by the very cancers and ailments which they fight against. It is absurd and makes no sense to say that they would kill their dearly beloved and kill themselves in the name of greed.
3) “Alternative medicines” such as homeopathy, acupuncture, chiropracty, magnets, for instance, don’t work.

When a cure for polio was discovered, did the medical community “hold it back”? No.
I’ve done a few searches on eliminating cancers naturally, and a lot of these "herbalists" believe that chemotherapy does nothing but make your body even sicker, and that there are natural ways of eventually eliminating cancer from your body.
And those people are whack jobs.

I guess you can believe whatever conspiracy theories you want to believe.

Me, I prefer to have a more optimistic outlook on life.

I have to think that by now there would have been at least one decent person in the drug industry who would have gotten concrete, definite proof of this and released it to the public if these things were true.

some people still have consciences. since that hasn't happened yet I'll give the pharmaceutical companies the benefit of the doubt.

The company also fails if it puts out an effective cure. Who will buy the medicine if the sickness is wiped out completely? This is why it's better for business to treat the symptoms of disease as opposed to the root....more repeat customers = happy stockholders.

A lot of alternative medicine is completely bogus, I wont argue with you there. But I have seen for myself that herbal healing, accupressure massage, and dietary changes provide more lasting solutions than modern medicines. My grandmother was a healer and has taught me a lot about herbs and treating people on an energetic level, something that science is JUST beginning to grasp with the present technology.

I believe that an ideal medical system recognizes its own limitations and employs the best of both worlds. And we are starting to see this as more doctors investigate the alternatives and establish medical coverage for people with insurance.

Ultimately I have more faith in our doctors than I do the system, because at least they have hearts and the power to change things. Sweeping generalizations of staunchily defensive views are not the answer. It's time to let go of our limiting beliefs and see for ourselves what works and what doesn't.

just take vitamin c and b's a lot and sufficient fat soluble vitamins (usually about 3x or more than the rda) and get the trace minerals from your food.

some guy that died, forget who he was was taking 18 000 mg or 18 g of vitamin c a day, im sure he had to work up to that, but it shows how vitamin c has no limits, 2500 mg for the average 150lbs person is a good amount to be at.

I agree with you 100%, but what about when the ones that can cure these ailments fall victim to them? I couldnt imagine if i was in their position and a family member got something that i knew could have been cured. Well, maybe if i had millions of dollars flying my way it would cloud my vision, even after i got cancer and died. Welp, i guess thats life for you, cant wait till the world ends up in hell.

Vitamins do help but will never be able to touch the natural balance of sustenance found in nature. Plus you can't discount the medicinal qualities of certain plants. More and more doctors are getting their socks blown off when they try to compare their supplements to the real deal.

Check out this one MDs experience with aloe vera..

http://www.positivehealth.com/permit/Articles/Aloe Vera/atherton.htm

It's long but the point is he was trying to make a sustainable, marketable gel out of it but in the end he discovers there is no substitute for a fresh plant.

Health is all about balance. Nature has already given us all we need to maintain it.

Are there natural cures for cancer?

Possibly. Probably not the ones that are in their late stage or metastasize to other places.

I find generally that doctors are pharmaceutical industries' biatches. Even the good ones. That shouldn't be a surprise in this day and age. The only MDs and DOs that I respect are those who are also practicing alternative/complementary medicine. Although that wouldn't be common to doctors who just started practicing since they have to pay up their loans and they need to be someone's wh*ores, which you really cannot blame them.

Drug companies love us. Love us being fat, being lazy, not cognizant about our diets.

Personally, Doctors failed me badly when I was suffering from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. They ummed and ahhed, and eventually told me to 'rest'. 'Resting', for 5 or 10 years, would apparently cure me of it.

Great. Thanks.

My mother persuaded me to see a naturapath (sp?) who was also into other types of 'weird' healing. I was very skeptical, but figured I had nothing to lose.

She made me change my diet radically. I'd always eaten healthy, but she eliminated dairy and wheat COMPLETELY from my diet. She gave me some strange supplements I'd never heard of before.

Two months later I was bouncing out of bed. Fatigue gone. I no longer needed to sleep 12+ hours a day. I no longer needed to nap in the afternoon. I not only began to get out of bed before midday, I was able to get up around dawn and go running again.

It completely reversed my opinion of natural remedies and western medicine. I am now skeptical of a lot of Doctor's solutions to health problems (with the exception of the obvious stuff like broken arms etc) and where possible I will get the opinion a natural healer and follow their advice.

And please don't anyone tell me about the 'placebo effect'. You can't possibly understand what it was like unless you've been through it. They changed my life.

Do not be too easy. If you are too easy to get, she will not want you. If you are too easy to keep, she will lose interest in you. If you are too easy to control, she will not respect you.

" For various reasons it is generally not possible in general practice to do proper randomised controlled trials using just one's own patients but I am convinced that there is enough evidence available now to suggest that the properties of this amazing plant should be properly tested, to prove whether or not there is just a myth or real medicine here."

hes not even sure yet if the benefits it gives are real or myth

The feds created AIDS in order to cure cancer:confused:  maybe

I read an alarming article in the NY TIMES, that said, healthy eating has little effect on who gets cancer.:( This doesn't devalue the merits of a healthy diet, but as a cancer cure, it shows little promise. I think cancer has some sort of corelation with our ecology. THe article mentioned that certain cancers effect a specific demographic of ppl, and that stomach cancer, which was more common 50-60 yrs ago, has for the most part disappeared.

My goal for the rest of my life is to only eat organic foods. No white sugar, perservatives, artificial sweetners, no wheat, dairy (damn i luve cheese), and nothing that has a high GI...

exercise, meditation, and gratitude

Why would you do that even after the "healthy eating" realization? I'd rather die two years earlier and have a bodyfat percentage one percent higher and enjoy my life.

And that is also why you will never amount to any success as far as health and fitness goes, now go complain about someone posting 2 much, go on scurry off.
