Dude, everyone knows they're not real "friends". The girls know that they are not real "friends". But have you ever known a girl to deny someone the title of "friend", unless they were a TOTAL creeper?synergy1 said:On the other hand, I can't imagine having hundreds and hundreds of Facebook friends like women do. They sort of feed off the attention and social proof. If you have less friends than a woman, does that hurt your social proof in their eyes?
The classic "let's just be friends" is the perennial example of this. She could be disgusted by you, but would still consider you a "friend" because it could lead to some benefit down the line, and better to have people as "friends" than as enemies.
Guys are the only ones who make a big deal out of the label, "friend", on Facebook and seem to want to waste time putting down people for clicking "accept" instead of "ignore". Sh*t, it's one click, and you may get some news about something interesting going down. I rarely deny anyone on FB unless I outright do NOT know them.
Facebook is a billboard. It's not a "social network", there's nothing "social" about it. It's just a label. Women understand that. Why are guys so dense about it??
Women like attention?? They like showing off, being pretty and popular? OMFG STOP THE PRESSES!! :woo: :woo: :woo:
This is NOT NEWS, this is not even NEW. Women have been all about having "friends" and being popular since before the INTERNET existed. You want to pick them up? Be more interesting than whatever's going on on Facebook.
It's not hard.
God, it's like high school all over again..."she's so pretty, but how to I let her know that I exist??" Say hello and don't be a dork. 9 times out of 10, if a girl is nose-down in her phone when you're trying to pick her up, it's not because Facebook has some kind of stranglehold on her mental attention, it's because she's not feeling you.
