On the other hand, I can't imagine having hundreds and hundreds of Facebook friends like women do. They sort of feed off the attention and social proof. If you have less friends than a woman, does that hurt your social proof in their eyes?
Dude, everyone knows they're not real "friends". The girls know that they are not real "friends". But have you ever known a girl to deny someone the title of "friend", unless they were a TOTAL creeper?

The classic "let's just be friends" is the perennial example of this. She could be disgusted by you, but would still consider you a "friend" because it could lead to some benefit down the line, and better to have people as "friends" than as enemies.

Guys are the only ones who make a big deal out of the label, "friend", on Facebook and seem to want to waste time putting down people for clicking "accept" instead of "ignore". Sh*t, it's one click, and you may get some news about something interesting going down. I rarely deny anyone on FB unless I outright do NOT know them.

Facebook is a billboard. It's not a "social network", there's nothing "social" about it. It's just a label. Women understand that. Why are guys so dense about it??

Women like attention?? They like showing off, being pretty and popular? OMFG STOP THE PRESSES!! :woo: :woo: :woo:

This is NOT NEWS, this is not even NEW. Women have been all about having "friends" and being popular since before the INTERNET existed. You want to pick them up? Be more interesting than whatever's going on on Facebook.

It's not hard. :p

God, it's like high school all over again..."she's so pretty, but how to I let her know that I exist??" Say hello and don't be a dork. 9 times out of 10, if a girl is nose-down in her phone when you're trying to pick her up, it's not because Facebook has some kind of stranglehold on her mental attention, it's because she's not feeling you.

Observations of all my chick friends *and* being that guy that chicks talk to on their phones at all times. You know, the one who is bored of you so she starts texting some other dude.
Chicks call this guy her girlfriend.

Fix this sh!t now.

The most alluring thing you can do for women is have them wonder the possibilities of what you'll be having her do to you. You do that by not being her girlfriend.

dont worry bra, what she did to me was more than she does with her regular friends, lol! I don't chit chat with women I haven't already/ won't get with. That ****s for chumps. Its all about keeping your targets on a string while wheeling other ones. You are grossly mistaken if you think women aren't the only one playing the numbers game.

This is NOT NEWS, this is not even NEW. Women have been all about having "friends" and being popular since before the INTERNET existed. You want to pick them up? Be more interesting than whatever's going on on Facebook.

I think you are flying off the handle a little but and missed the original question here which is the following: would one be in a precarious situation should they have no friends on FB if their mark has 10 billion. My answer was inconclusive due to the incongruency in age and experiences.

God, it's like high school all over again..."she's so pretty, but how to I let her know that I exist??" It is, but have these social situations ever really changed? Have men always tried to make themselves better known by being louder than the next guy, driving a nicer car than the next, owning more 'stuff' than the next? Look at many folks on this forum who try to 'out alpha' the next dude... Really , FB is an extension of what has played out in decades before.

you want a look at high school-esque behavior, go look at 99% of the guys who are hitting on this so called 17 year old french chick who just started posting here. Some talk a big game but melt like butta as soon as a dame walks in the room!

Just as recently as a few months ago I was still seeing a lot of those "never text a woman, texting is for pvssies and AFCs" posts. I'm pleased to see that this mindset is changing around here. Like you say, it isn't going anywhere. Keep up with the times or fall behind.

I've thought about starting a Facebook page (although I doubt that I'll actually get around to it). For those of you who are into that sort of thing, I need to know how many friends you have to have so you don't look like a chode. Seems like you'd be shooting yourself in the foot if you only had like three friends on there lol.

On the other hand, I can't imagine having hundreds and hundreds of Facebook friends like women do. They sort of feed off the attention and social proof. If you have less friends than a woman, does that hurt your social proof in their eyes?
I have less than 200 Facebook friends. I'm not a super-outgoing guy, and I regularly delete people I dont talk to. Depending on what you do for a career, Facebook can get you into serious trouble. If you are a public servant of any sort, a medical practitioner or student, or hold some sort of management position man you better keep that cleaner than a preacher's sheets. I got put on professional probation at my grad program for seemingly innocuous involvement in a Facebook convo where someone insulted a professor. Just like that---we almost got dismissed, in which case I would have been up sh!t creek big time.

Anyways, I dont know if it hurts or helps social proof. Probably more so with the younger girls who are on it 24/7. To be honest I couldn't give less of a sh!t....I get a little closer to deleting it each day. People can just find out too much about you, even stuff you didnt post your self.

I'm validated by my 19 year old son here: He joined mySpace at 13 and realized how sophomoric these social networking sites are. He saw facebook coming and decided to opt out. His reason "I don't want people to know what the hell I'm up to, and spending time on there is counterproductive."

I couldn't agree more. I joined facebook aboiut a year and a half ago and I have regretted it. It's full of either a) old high school pals reliving their glory days b) people who are in problem relationships and marriages and trying to mine their own experiences or c) people who are looking for free promotion for their businesses. Furthermore, the highest status people I know (i.e my senior managers at work, the hottest MILFs, the wealthy) aren't on there.

Unless you're wayyyyy up on the social food chain.... facebook ain't gonna get you laid ....

All it does for me now is provide a vehicle for my girlfriend to keep tabs on me.

Texting is different - its great when you wanna show you care without investing 15 minutes on the phone, like in crowded bars. Early on in game activity, I wouldn't use it too much but once you know somebody it can come in really handy, like when you are in a crowded bar or busy with another plate.:D

Peace and Quiet

If you currently have too many women chasing you, calling you, harassing you, knocking on your door at 2 o'clock in the morning... then I have the simple solution for you.

Just read my free ebook 22 Rules for Massive Success With Women and do the opposite of what I recommend.

This will quickly drive all women away from you.

And you will be able to relax and to live your life in peace and quiet.

If social ineptitude is validation, so be it.

You're following the advice of a 19 year old, who's probably as socially conditioned as the rest of the herd?

Unless you're wayyyyy up on the social food chain.... facebook ain't gonna get you laid ....
Nothing but a hard c0ck, an aloofness to women's drama, and a harder constitution will get anyone laid by beautiful women on a consistent basis.

All it does for me now is provide a vehicle for my girlfriend to keep tabs on me.
You let a girlfriend keep you in check? On Facebook? She must be a peach in real life.

You have to KNOW game before you can give advice to men on game.

Having said that, I believe the power of building rapport over the PHONE is vastly underestimated. Most younger guys will pull a number and play a bunch of little text games, then act surprised when she invariably loses interest and flakes. Fellas, she's playing the same text games with 20 other guys she's met at the clubs and reveling in the attention.

Pick up the phone and call. If she won't pick up, text and schedule a time for "a quick chat". In today's hyper-stimulated environment, having an old school 30 minute phone conversation is effectively like having a Day 2
30 minute phone conversation!!! What are you a teenage girl?

Phone calls, texting, facebook, emails, it's all unnecessary guys!

Sorry but for me it would go like this...

- Meet girl
- Try to determine whether she's worth my time thru face to face conversation
- If she passes that test I'll get her number.
- Always try to avoid giving her mine at this point. I want to be in control.
- Call her when I'm ready and set up a casual date. Phone call 10 mins max.
- Take her out, have a great time and once again she has to impress me enough that I'll even think about seeing her again.
- If she becomes someone I see more often I may send the odd flirty/sexually toned text just to set the mood but that is it!
- Phone calls are for setting up dates. Period.
- No emails or facebook ever. These things are for friends not women I'm dating or sleeping with.
- If she fails to return a call or text I leave it at that. If she doesn't call back she just lost her shot.
- If she declines or balks at a suggested date without making an effort to reschedule she gets a simple "Talk to you later" and I won't call her again. She's out until she comes calling.

This is tried tested and true fellas. Always works and always will.

While all the other chumps are texting and facebooking her, I'm the one she's wondering about. What am I doing? When am I going to call? When are we going out again? Does he even like me?

If she's texting or answering phonecalls while we're on a date, I get up and leave.
