Is it possible to gain 35 pounds of mass muscle in 3 months

In the gym, I look funny because I struggle with weights (because I use HEAVY weights to me). I have had idiots come up to me to give me "tips". I ignore them and keep doing what I'm doing which stuns the meathead. But now I am bigger than the meathead.

It sounds like a recipe for how to injure yourself, which would make sense that it made him get big quickly.

Sad part is he still probably only weighs 165 lbs or so...

You can get fat in 3 months but I don't believe you can add 35lbs of lean muscle mass in 3 months without using AAS. If that was possible, no one would be using AAS. Actually, gaining 35lbs of fat in 3 months would probably be difficult in and of itself provided you don't have a preexisting thyroid or other metabolic deficiency.

Or maybe Pook is discplined enough were he was taking exact amount of calories and doing all the right routines, perfectly

boxers do it all the time. The sudden increase in weight is due to water weight. Pook was probably taking creatine and drinking a lot of water. Creatine is a great way to go if you want to quickly gain weight and not gain fat. However the effects of it are not perminant, once your off it, expect to loose a lot of water weight. I have been doing what pook recommended for 3 weeks and I gained 12 lbs. Most of the weight is probably water, b/c I am taking creatine as well. I don't look fat, infact I look cut.

One of Pook's low moments, in that blog and his What every skinny guy should know post, he was obviously plugging in Anthony Ellis' workout program which happens to cost money.

He claims muscle memory but I doubt it works like that.

Even with prohormones and designer steroids 35 pounds is a lot.

If you're doing things the right way, you can expect to gain about two pounds a month of pure muscle mass, and that's being generous. As already stated, the rest will be fat and water weight.

My normal weight is 165 is i consume like 3k calories a day and i will fluctuate from 165-168lbs. I had to eat like crazy and drink protein shakes everyday for like 3 months just to gain 10 lbs. It wasn't even 10 lbs of pure muscle. It's hard as a skinny guy to gain weight, at one point i was so strong for my size, shoulder passing 175lbs on barbell and bench pressing 265lbs, doing hand stand pushups without assistance but i still only weighed 168lbs.

I think you can gain 35 pounds in 3 months but sayings it's entirely muscle....i doubt it.

I think it is def possible, not entirely of muscle of course, but still i think gaining 35 lbs of fat, muscle, and water looks better than just gaining 10 lbs of pure muscle in itself. It should be easier for super skinny guys to gain a lot of weight and a lot of muscle in a short amount of time, even if they are hard gainers. Pook was 6'2 160 lbs when he started. That is super skinny for his height. Gaining 35 lbs doesn't surprise me at all. But, in Pook's post what the biggest take away message that many people miss is the reason why women like guys with a lot of muscle mass is because they are highly testosteronized. As long as you keep on increasing the weight you lift in the gym your testosterone will increase, and people will find you more attractive.

Fighters are experts at losing water in the cut to make weight. I have seen 150 pound guys lose up to 20 pounds in less than two hours, and then put most of it right back on. It's not healthy, and it's not anything you want to emulate. Fighters do it because it puts you up against a smaller guy, or at least a guy your own size. If you don't cut weight, you can expect the other guy to weigh 10-20 pounds more than you at fight time. With a heavyweight, the difference would be more. Brock Lesnar would make weight at 265 and fight the next night at about 300 pounds.

I've heard of guys gaining 30lbs in 3 months, but it is not all muscle. Maybe 8lbs of lean muscle and the rest fat. If your on the skinnier side and want to bulk up then, gaining 30lbs of fat and muscle shouldnt be a concern. You can always cut fat later..

It's some lean muscle mass, some fat and a lot of water weight. As you gain / lose mass, your body will gain / lose significant amount of water weight to support the difference.

You can increase the volume of your muscles with stuff like creatine and constant high-volume training, but that is irrelevant in terms of new muscle fiber creation.

So why not just lean bulk in those 3 months and get around 6-8 pounds of muscle and avoid putting on all that fat and water weight? You are going to have to cut anyways if you bulk, so why not just slowly add on muscle without adding on too much fat?

You make a point.

I believe it comes down to what you want to achieve. If you want to look good and look more muscular, I'd say focus on burning fat and building muscle. But, for those who just want to get bigger and more massive. Go ahead and gain some weight. After getting a solid foundation, then go for the cutting.
