why would you delete it just because you can't find women? don't you have any friends on there? that sounds dumb to me.

It's a message board where people like to ***** for attention. It's not really useful but you can make it so.

Have only important people on there. People you want to be in contact with long distance. Family, far away friends... etc. If you have 1000 "friends" on Facebook, you're doing it wrong. Those are people you barely know. Filler.

I deleted my Facebook profile - best thing I ever did.

My social life improved overnight, because I actually went outside and started having real conversations in the time that I would have spent staring at a screen.

It's good for connecting with new women who you meet outside of FB. I've never met anyone on there but it helped me land a few relationships. Meet them, get their name, ask if they are on FB (which they probably are with their phone as you speak) and ask if you can contact them on there. Or if you meet a girl and don't get her number but you know she liked you, try to find her on there. Then send them an email on FB - have a good photo of you. Don't be their FB friend, just email them. See if they reply. It gets the ball rolling quite easily. Then get their cell phone number (they will usually offer it after a few emails if they like you).

well i thought it was gonna be good adding a girl i was dating to facebook but it turns out its not such a good idea. i find myself always looking at her profile and it plays tricks on my mind when i see people commenting on her wall .. anything she does. i figured im just gonna get off facebook so i deleted it and that way i dont have to look at her profile all the time or when i log in i see something from the news feed about her. very bad. not just her either, any other girls i like i get reminded of constantly when checking facebook. at least this way i remain mysterious and i dont want to know what they are doing either.

Good call. That's how you do it. Don't add these girls to Facebook.

Yeah, I don't add I'm interested in on Facebook. Although, when I became single, I had some girls from my past contact me, and I'll just say I'm glad I had Facebook then.

There is currently only one person that I am friends with on Facebook that I would try (or have been trying) to get with. If I meet a girl and she asks if I have it, I just respond "I do, but I don't really use it". All of my stuff is private, so even if she adds me, I can simply not respond to it as if I never even signed in to see her request.

What I am getting at here is... The reason I use Facebook has nothing to do with meeting girls. I use it for my friends/distant family. Sometimes I hear about events through Facebook friends that could lead to finding girls, but that's really the extent of it.

so does that mean you shouldn't add girls that you're seeing? what about when you're girlfriend/boyfriend, you don't bother with it? strictly family/friends mmm? still pending my deletion. it takes 14 days to completely be removed. talk about temptation lol.

Why do you NEED to add girl's you're seeing to Facebook? Do you not have any other means of communication? Like phone, or physically meeting?

What would you have to gain by adding a girl you're seeing to Facebook? What would you have to lose by not adding that girl to Facebook?

true.. well if i do ever get back on, should i remove her? also, what are your thoughts on couples on facebook? i see a lot of people who put themselves in relationships. to me it's kind of weird in a way, im not sure if id want my gf knowing everything i do on facebook or a girl i LIKE for that matter. thats one of the reasons i decided to stop using it. i didn't like the fact this girl i am seeing and like very much knows exactly when i was on or am on facebook.

I deleted that shi't too. It was a waste of time and its easy to get sucked into a meaningless virtual social life. I'm not saying everyone will, but personally, I've seen it hinder mine and a lot of my friends social lives. Its a virtual social life, your very own little reality show. That's all it was to me, a show. None of that stuff benefited my real world. Chances are if I don't have an "old friend's" phone number, they aren't that important to me to begin with. Stacking friends that I probably wont hang out with or constantly looking at what others are doing with their lives seemed like a waste of time to me. I do agree that there are some benefits, but this is just my 2 cent.

facebook is not just about girls dude. life is not just about girls.

facebook allows you to stay in touch with pretty much every fkn person you've met in your life.

if you dont think that's beneficial than you are a retard.

4 years ago i met some guy randomly at a party who worked at boeing and we became fb firends. we never talked. last year my boss assigned me a project and i needed an expert in aviation. hit this guy up because facebook had reminded me that he existed. this guy just happened to be working on a similar project for boeing and we linked up. i saved my company millions of dollars and got an enormous fkn promotion. my salary this year is 40k more than what i made 2 years ago.

tell me facebook is useless.

sure there's good things you get out of it. depends on the person i guess. but the majority of people get sucked into it, like i did. i was always sitting there looking at the news feed and reading peoples status and looking at their photos from the fun they had on the weekend. looking at girls profile that i was interested in which was destroying me. i have been off it for 2 days now and i feel a lot better. i don't really have that many friends anyway since i'm still new in town and i never really had great friends in the past. the good friends i have i speak to on the phone. i also hated that people knew when i was on facebook when i added someone or posted something. like this i feel more appealing and mysterious to girls i am seeing. just my thoughts. i still think facebook is good to keep in touch with friends but like i said, i don't have many.

garruk. That's a great story, but I don't think that is a common thing with facebook, it seems more like a very specific story to me. I wouldn't go as far as to say facebook is useless, because that means it doesn't have any uses, which it does. I don't think there is any significance to its uses and I believe in most cases, socializing online can become a habit and hinder real-life socializing.

Just tell her ahead of time. "Listen, I'm removing my Facebook, I don't want to use it anymore. I might open it up again for business contacts and people I want to keep at arm's length away."

If she asks you why, just say something like "I've grown out of Facebook." or something like that.

what are your thoughts on couples on facebook?
I don't have any. I haven't been in that situation. I've learned a long time ago that Facebook is a liability when you're seeing someone. Firstly it's online discussions which doesn't carry the same subtleties of conversation. I tend to be very sarcastic and that doesn't translate well into text. In fact, it makes me sound like an ******* most of the time.

Not only that but I don't want to know what she's doing or what she wants people to think she's doing. I can be very perceptive of people when they're in my company but Facebook tends to be very confusing with all the conflicting information and nonsense. It's hard to read. I don't like that.

i didn't like the fact this girl i am seeing and like very much knows exactly when i was on or am on facebook.
What about seeing what the girl is doing all the time? It makes me feel like a stalker and not in a good way. It's creepy and I hate it.
