As far as your reply, I'm not sure which state you are referring to. In CA, CDC funds the construction of prisons out of state funds. But small assed towns in the middle of nowhere benefit since jobs are created and sustained as a result of prison construction. Good for the town, bad for the state. And stop AMOGing me. Wait, you're a girl.

The amount of money they generate in a town doesn't not come anywhere near compensating for the cost of government funds to build and operate a prison. All that government money comes from taxes...which people pay. If you had even the slightest inkling of how much it costs to build and maintain a prison it would blow your mind. The cost doesn't stop once the prison is built. Most prisons house hundreds of inmates who need to be fed 3 meals a day. I only buy cheap foods to feed my family...with two teenage boys. It costs over $500 a month to feed a family of 5 (one of which is only 7 and doesn't eat much). Prison staff gets paid good wages, and they have to hire a medical staff, counselors, administrators, etc. They need to provide soap, shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant etc for several hundred people every day. They need to provide medications for inmates, many of which who suffer from mental health issues. They need to maintain the buildings and grounds, heat or cool many buildings, etc. You honestly have no clue how expensive prisons are.

Iowa's prisons and community corrections programs require more than $250 million in new construction to accommodate future growth of the state's offender population and to replace antiquated facilities, a consultant has told state officials.

http://desmoinesregister.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070214/NEWS10/702140384/-1/BUSINESS04

Iowa's nine prisons, which held 8,857 convicts at the end of 2006, are projected to grow to 10,284 inmates by the end of 2011, an increase of 16 percent, according to a report sponsored by the Pew Charitable Trusts. The only neighboring state that is forecast to grow at a faster rate is South Dakota, where the prison population is projected to increase from 3,442 to 4,241 inmates, up 23 percent.

Each Iowa inmate costs taxpayers an average of $23,367 annually, according to the Iowa Department of Corrections. To accommodate future growth and to update aging facilities, consultants have told Iowa prison officials to consider building new housing for 1,500 inmates.

The state corrections agency already employs about 4,100 people and last year had an operating budget of $313 million for prisons and community corrections programs, such as probation, parole and work release.

So, JUST in Iowa, the 8,857 prisoners cost an average of $23,367 EACH per year. That is a total of $206,961,519
a year JUST to care for and feed Iowa's prisoners. They are overcrowded and need to come up with another $250 million dollars to deal with the problem. That doesn't even cover the $313 million in wages paid to correctional staff and operational costs each year. That is almost $520 million dollars each YEAR just to run Iowa's prisons.

There is no way the prisons generate anywhere near the amount of revenue it would take to cover the amount of money prisons suck out of state and federal budgets.

I picked a state randomly...and pretty much every state is faced with this same problem...the cost is rising more each year, too.

OMG...lmao...where do you think "state funds" come from? It comes from TAXES. Those wages are also paid from taxes. The state and federal government doesn't magically **** out cash, lol...they get it from you and me by taxing the bejesus out of us...everything we use...everything we have...what we earn...gas for our car, the food we eat, etc, etc.

Bottom line...prisons cost states WAY more money to build and run then they ever put back into the community.

It seems that you must disagree even when there is no disagreement. I predict you will keel over dead at the age of 50 by getting stressed out over things that you have no need to get stressed out about. Have a good day! (Freeaaaak).

PS: You spend too much time on the internet. 10,000 posts is probably too many posts.

LMAO...I'm not stressed out. What do you mean there is no disagreement? You're claiming that prisons bring more money into a community than they cost. I told you that you're wrong and provided proof to show you that you are wrong. And rather than just say "Whoa...I had no clue prisons cost that much! Guess I was mistaken," you are saying I'm stressed and back peddling out of the discussion.

It is okay to say "Whoops, I was wrong...thanks for clearing that up, now I know." It won't make you a pansy to admit you were misinformed, really it won't. :D

This whole Don Imus firing and Duke lacrosse Rape case sends one very clear message: the WHITE community needs a spokesperson to look after the white community, and ONLY the white community's best interest.

Sounds racist, right? Well, that is exactly what Jesse Jackoff and Al Sharptongue does. (I REFUSE to call those two race HUSTLERS "Reverend.") The whole country is paralyzed in fear at what these so-called black "leaders" demand. When those race hustlers speak, they get the majority of the black community fired up and ready to protest, or picket and the white community is so cowardly that they buckle under the pressure and cave in to whatever they demand. If the white community had some sort of ACCEPTED spokesperson to fight black racists like Jesse and Al, then maybe things would turn out differently for people like Don Imus and the Duke lacrosse players.

What is really crazy, is that NOBODY, not even his friends or past guests stood up for Don Imus. Because he is a bad person? NO. Because they are scared to death at what Jesse and Al might publicly do to them. No one can stand up to these race hustlers, because they would be dismissed as a RACIST. The white community needs a spokesperson, because the white community doesn't have the balls to stand up to them, and because its obvious that Jesse and AL are only interested in what benefits the BLACK community.

Do you remember when that lady who drowned her children about ten years ago, and claimed a black man stole her car and did it? Turned out she was lying, and what did Jesse Jackoff do? He DEMANDED that her family apologize to the entire black community. If that is the way he wants to play, he should DEMAND that the stripper or her family apologize to the WHITE community, right? Or he should at least address the issue himself, because he is supposed to a civil rights leader. But he nor Sharptongue will ever do that, because they are ONLY interested in the BLACK community.

Al Sharptongue invited Imus on his radio show after he made that comment to "publicly apologize" to the black community. Imus apologized and groveled like a whipped puppy for three hours, and Shaprtongue STILL demanded that Imus be fired. If that was not enough, he DEMANDED that CBS do the same thing, even after the Rutger's basketball coach publicly said that Imus should NOT lose his job.

Currently, no one is speaking on the white community's behalf. NO ONE came out and fought for those three INNOCENT Duke lacrosse players. NO ONE would speak out on behalf of Don Imus. NO ONE is demanding an apology from Jesse or Al when they publicly dismissed those Duke players as rapists, or when they formed a lynch mob to go after Imus. Had Jesse or Al or Nifong had their way, those three innocent boys would be in prison right now serving a 30 year prison sentence. They are not interested in justice; they want to see a white person, ANY white person, pay for the past. THAT is the reason why the white community is getting pushed around and taking the blame for every wrong in the black community.

The situation must be really bad in South Carolina if you think Don Imus is a cause that "white people" should fight for. Talk about a waste of time.

Wyldfire, you are a bitter old hag who has nothing better to do with your time than constantly fan flame wars while you wait for your welfare check. If someone told you 1 + 1 = 2, you'd find a way to disagree with it, assuming you even bothered to read their statement in the first place. Here's your real problem:

lmao...I love it when people make personal attacks when they can't counter what I post. The majority of the people here know that I don't start flame wars or attack people. Some guys can't handle women posting here. There have always been a few who have behaved like you are right now for as long as I've been a member here. For almost 6 years guys like you have mistakenly believed that if they flamed and personally attacked me that I would be driven off this site. It's not going to happen, so deal with it.

You made a claim that was false and I corrected it. You insisted that you were right when I knew you were not so I posted proof. Now you're sore because a chick proved you wrong so now you are trying to start a fight with me. If you honestly believe that anyone reading this doesn't see that then you are just kidding yourself.

I was a competitive debater all through school. While most people use the internet to chat, instant message and the like...I mostly use it for online debate and research.

That's not saying that I don't like sex...but I enjoy debating much more.

Don't give up your day job because your psychoanalysis sucks monkey butt.

You mean you can't find anyone willing to fvck you. At least not as easily as you could a decade or two ago. It seems like most any website with broads who post a lot feature bitter old cougars like yourself. The younger ones are out of the house getting what they want.

Maybe it's the marketing in my blood speaking but.....I just have to think some of this is for gain. I mean really, I would bet $5000 DJ dollars that 75% of folks hearing this story heard "nappy headed ho" before they even knew who Rutgers was. Come on - fess up, really who even knew them? Anyone here have a Rutger jersey hanging on your wall?

Imus too, his pinnacle days were way back, he's not had any ‘sparks’ for a long time now. He'll be on King, writing his bio and living high pool side, maybe even get offers from sirus, lord know their bombing fast. Sure it looks like he just stumbled into offensive comments but he's not a fool, I just HAVE TO think he knew what he was doing and how many doors this would open for him.

From a marketing angle, I think their both pretty smart. LOL

Personally, Imus/Stern and about a zillion other forms of media just aren’t allowed in my home, I am a firm believer that a constant flow of the darker humor/shock jock/soap opera-esque media will bring bad things my way. Garbage in/garbage out kind of thing....good things in/ good things out is more my style.

Just another .02 cents.

Another example of Pixie setting herself above the pack with an insightful point of view

I think Imus got what he had coming to him. Stern does some stupid sh!t too, but he doesn't rabble off pure racism. He hates everyone equally. Beetlejuice was a great example.

Bubba the fat fvcking retard here in Tampa got canned for condoning a live pig killing. He and his cronies deserved it long before that though.

These shock jocks are as bad as O'Reilly, Hannity, Rush, What the hell is that horse faced broads name? Oh, Anne Coulter. Now it's time for the good Reverend Al Sharpton to lead the wagons against that godawful
(C)rap "music". I want to see P. Dumbass sample his way outta this one . . .

I bet I'm more attractive than you are...

I just put my photo in my profile on this site. I challenge you to do the same.

I'm quite certain that the vast majority of the guys on here would gladly "fvck" me if they had the chance.

I'm certainly not here posting because I am such a disgusting and ugly old hag that I couldn't be out with a vast multitude of men if I wanted to.

I looked through some of your earlier posts at random and all you do is b1tch and moan and complain about how unfair life is, how men don't have good taste, how you know it all. You're just an attention hor. As far as your picture...no comment.

Actually, I don't complain about life. I complain about the state of this site because it has been going consistently down hill for several years.

Yes, I tell guys they need to take responsibility for their choices because that is the KEY to taking complete control of your life. You have to acknowledge that you have a problem before you can go about fixing it. I'm one of only a very few long time members here who remembers the original spirit of this site. I'm trying to keep it alive. Every once in awhile I'll be a smart arse..but the vast majority of my posts are attempts to help the guys here make their lives better. It has always been my purpose for being here.

If I were really an attention wh*re I would be flirting instead of giving advice and posting tips. When have you ever seen me flirt with anyone on this site? If you're going to accuse me of something then be able to give specific examples or don't accuse.
