I was reading an evo psych book a while ago and the author claimed that, according to DNA evidence, 40% of men vs 80% of women have reproduced. I think that's a realistic statistic now, too. The overlap, that it doesn't add up to 100%, is important - it means that not only are the top men shared by the top women, but the middling women are shared by the beta men while the bottom men and women get little or nothing. This gels with my experience.

I think that there is some confusion over the "80:20 rule" that needs clarifying. The 80:20 rule does not stand for the proposition that 80% of all girls fvck top 20% of guys. Rather, it stands for the proposition that 80% of women feel that they are entitled to fvck a top 20% guy. When an average-looking chick meets such a guy, and for whatever reason he is willing to entertain her (usually, the reason is beer googles or a dry spell), she will spread her legs faster than a ghetto single mom cashes her welfare check. This is a typical scenario that people conceptualize when they think of hypergamy.

This actually does not happen as often as some people think, because top 20% guys generally prefer to fvck chicks who are in their league.
