Well, as i mentioned in previous post i was out with a group of people i didn't know on the weekend. Even though i didn't know anyone i was definately the loud / alpha male in the group.

During the night one of the ladies commented on how i look "gay". She said that women might perceive me to be and wouldn't approach. She claims i look gay as "you dress well, good fashion sense, stylish hair cut" and a few other things i can't recall.

On her querying a few other ladies some said i did look "intimidating" and even a "too good to approach" comment.

Now, that has got me thinking. Maybe i should dress down. Or, if i dress up... just make sure i do all the approaching!

Just something else to think about guys. Maybe the ladies are just scared :D

I think this is a very good sign. They noticed you, they thought about you, they liked what they saw. The gay thing might be a kind of "If it's too good to be true, it probably isn't..."-reaction. So, just approach and see if they're attracted!

Btw, that's what you should be doing anyway... ;)

It's not their job to approach, it's yours...

So no issue there, right?

Looking gay, though..? I'm straight, but my roommate is a gay male model--fvcking unreal gorgeous, but obviously gay.

Me? You can tell I'm not just by the way I dress (and I don't dress badly, btw...)

I live near the Castro in SF (Gay-dom's ground zero in the US here..) and basically have a post graduate school of how gays and straights dress walking outside my door. I know the difference, but I'm not sure if I can explain it. If you get the sense--looking at a guy--that he'd be a hot, fashionable woman in another life, he's dressing gay. That doesn't help much, I suppose...

Anyway, one thing I noticed and confirmed with the hot chicks I work with is that 20-something frat boys often have effiminate traits before they hit the real world. The greeks (as they're called here) are so effiminate and gay-like it's funny. They're so into their looks.

The real world--or a real job--will knock the shyt out of them and they'll become more masculine within a few years of leaving college.

What are those signs that strike the rest of us as gay?

1: They spend as much as women do on getting their hair "styled". Regular guys get their hair cut short so that they don't have to fvck with it in the morning before work.

2: They get their hair colored. Regular guys don't--they have no clue what their hair is except "light" or "dark"--or if they took an art class, maybe "blond" or "brown" or "black". Any color sense more complex than that and you've got someone who has a gay sense of color (not a bad thing, don't get me wrong here...) A regular guy usually doesn't care what the hell color his hair is--it's just there, right?

3: They go to fashionable clothing stores and wear the latest fashions designed to attract attention the same way that women wear clothes designed to attract attention. That's subjective, sure, but if you pay full price and wear the latest fashion--you're probably gay-looking.

Regular guys would NEVER DREAM of paying what women do for clothes--there is no justification for it, ever. You get what you like on sale, otherwise fvck it...

...and in same fashion, a regular guy would not ever consider paying what a woman would pay to the the hair "styled". They absolutely wouldn't make an appointment months in advance for it, or know their stylists' name--!!! Regular guys want it reasonably priced (like $15US) quick (like 20 mins or enough time to look at the hot babes in the Cosmo mag they have there...) and look good (usually that means it's short for the minimum "fvcking with it" time in the morning....)

Again--don't get me wrong, looking good and being fashionable is important--but in proper measure. Looking "gay" usually means you're putting as much emphasis on it as a woman would. They appreciate and notice when you have style, just don't do it in the same way they do. Looking "gay" means you probably do...

Definitely don't worry about how you are looking. Since you are not gay, as soon as a woman and you begin to talk, she will see that she doesn't have a gay man she is holding a conversation with, but a man with style and care for his appearance. Which is a plus. Just keep on doing what your doing.

Who cares, if you look good you look good, stop caring what everyone else thinks. Having style and good taste is something most guys, (and girls for that matter) don't have, so if you got it use it to your advantage! Who the hell wants to look like a peasent anyway!

I got a stylish wardrobe and it definitely is a positive with chicks, at work I hang out with a lot of HB's and they definitely notice what clothes and what shoes you wear.

It's hardly essential to picking up, but it certainly doesn't hurt. Depends whether your one of those people that just wants to hide in the crowd or if you want to stand out (in a good way).

Actually you guys are underestimating the power of sexual amiguity. Looking gay not only allows you to sneak past bytch shields but stirs up intrigue...is he gay? bi?

ABout 2 years ago I bleached my dark hair to platinum blonde for the hell of it. I couldnt believe how many women (and men) approached me. Girls would often ask if I was gay, to which I would reply "Yes, but I dunno...now that I have met you I am thinking of switching teams" or sum such sh!t. Worked extremely well, I got laid like a champ back then...hmmm maybe its time to restock on sum of that bleach LOL! :D

I truly truly hope that none of the AFC's reading this board take this advice. Do the absolute opposite! Sexual ambiguity is not cool!

I've heard chicks say many times that the gay guys are always the best looking ones. Then they add "too bad he's gay"

So they're telling you that you're good looking.

If you're not gay then who cares.

That "too good to approach" comment just means she's too insecure to think she could get a guy like you.

Don't worry I'm sure some hottie will.

When a woman says you look gay tell her "no, I'm not gay, do you want proof? We can go to my bedroom and I'll give you all the proof you need"

i also "look gay"

i was on a date, and the girl said "wow you shop at express, and have earrings. are you sure your not gay?" I said " I have video tapes at home that prove other wise." She laughed her ass off. Later that night she was all over me!

Not only was that a neg-hit, it was also testing your insecurity. I think the "want to go back to my house and let's prove I'm not gay" isn't creative enough. The posibilities of a comeback to that are endless, and she left the door wide open!

Here's just a few off the top of my head.

"I admit it I'm gay, now let's go find you a better pair of shoes"

*grab her hand and lead her out to your car*

"I admit it I'm gay, now let's go back to my place and watch some gay porn."

*grab her hand and take her to your place*

"My boyfriend is out of town, maybe you could turn me straight"

"If I'm so gay, how come you want to sleep with me so badly, don't deny it now!"

"Would a gay man do this?"

*surprise her with a kiss*

"Ok you got me, I'm really a lesbian trapped in a man's body"

Good responces...

I thought of some of those things but I just decided to give the responce that wouldn't result in a slap and going to court for sexual harrassment.

Well, i don't spend too much on clothing, actually..i dont spend a lot at all, just go into a decent clothing store hunt down some HB that is looking fine and ask her for advice. REPEAT. Let them hang around and tell ya if it fits well (as they touch ur arse!) and if i like it, sold!

As for hair, i usually get it short but long enough to gel, hair cut costs about $15AUS ($8US) then the rest is up to my fingers.

But, im sure once a chick talks to me she'd know i am not gay. I definately don't have one of those 'gay voices'! But hey, like you guys said - if she want's some proof im not... :p

Oh well, make sure i approach and if they still think im gay with my tounge down their throats.. they have another thing coming - literally!

Thanks for all the input, some great advice and comments there!

I was told by a male friend that he had said that women might think I was gay because I have a Macintosh sticker on my truck. (This is before the Mac people went to the "one color" design, so it was the multicolored version).

Eh. Anyone can think what they want. It doesn't make it true.

Just keep Djing, and they'll get the hint.
