Israel has compulsory military service for every citizen, suicide bombers, and support from the US. India has no compulsory military, but they have very cheap labor to work as border guards.

Technically, yes, Fortress America is fiscally possible. The cost would probably be a lot more than Iraq. But if the illegals leave, then the price of everything starts to go up. We would start to notice how much our economy owes to the people who work the lousy jobs. The real reason that those people are allowed to stay is that they are good for the bottom line profits of business.

Legal immigration is a fiscal net positive in the US. The immigrants pay more in taxes than they take out in services. It's better to let the illegals join the system and start paying taxes.

And the reason that we give everyone basic health care regardless of immigration status is that cheap preventative care prevents costly outbreaks of communicable disease that get spread around, infecting citizens as well.

The other link you posted talks about farm labor, but immigrants work lousy jobs in other industries as well. The produce study is confined to produce workers getting a raise. But immigrants also drive and unload trucks, work construction, wait tables, and clean. The cumulative impact of all those little people is very big.

did you watch the news? the latinos protesters sang US national anthem in spanish. This must be insult to the Americans. I would feel insult too if latinos can't sing Canadian national anthem. Why can't they learn english? All other ethnic groups are able to adapt to american culture by learning english. English is the language of business around the world.
