did you watch the news? the latinos protesters sang US national anthem in spanish. This must be insult to the Americans. I would feel insult too if latinos can't sing Canadian national anthem. Why can't they learn english? All other ethnic groups are able to adapt to american culture by learning english. English is the language of business around the world. If they can't learn english then they are dam too stupid. They actually have the temerity to wave mexican flag. WTF ?? This is suppose to be USA.

Re:

You cannot use the ills of the past, namely (the American indians/Native Americans) as justification for hordes of NEW illegals running into the country and ALLOWING it. It would be ONE thing if the illegals came and worked here and put to use the money they made BACK into the country, but to retain the ILLEGAL status, they obviously fleece the system, either living with friends/family, using cash or getting fake Id's. This is still big underground business.

And what should raise the ire of ALL, is how many millions of them there are. Taking tax dollars to subsidize their time here, while working behind the scenes or under the tables, and in many cases, sending their kids to our school. And exacerbating this fact is Bush's "No Child Left Behind", which in effect DUMBS down ALL kids to the lowest common denominator. Instead of ACCELERATING kids at the pace they individually learn, you ride along with the whole SPECIAL bus of kids. EVEN if education is free...would you as a kid, a brother, a father/mother, cousin, or friend, want a younger child STIFLING their own ability to learn because of political beliefs, or WHAT MIGHT BE IN THE NAME OF THE GREATER GOOD?

Hell fawking no! No you wouldn't. When it comes down to it, we are each individually important, and for some reason it's made to feel that if we sacrifice a little of each of us, it's better for the greater good, while only a few of the "greater good" reap massive profits, normally those who buck the trends they want the masses to succumb to.

I don't care if LEGAL immigrants want to stack as many people in one home as possible or is safe. However, I do abhor those haboring illegals who buck the system we people pay for. The same system being drained on a war, social security, fat pensions and healthcare for government officials, BUT NOT for people, on expensive drugs, on rebuilding New Orleans, and on over-compliancing America. See...people raise the BS arguement that America was founded this way...so for those who are currently here...it's ok that people who are "off the books" still usurp benefits, or worse, those on the books receive incentives that NO generations prior to it, such as your ancestors received? Come ON! Don't be an ignorant young guy with not a care in the world. Ya'll aren't that dimwitted are you?

I don't agree with much going on now, here, in our Country, but I also don't think it helps when a host of people PILE onto a sinking ship. And that's just what we have. We were ONCE the Titanic of the Planet, and now, we're just a life boat with the lower decks trying to ALL pile on and get the last remaining scraps before it ALL goes down.

See, behind the scenes, companies do NOT CARE about illegals, or subsidizing the legals, because they get incentives, and businesses get cheap labor without relocating overseas. At least today. The push is for a MORE global world, and by allowing fluid boarders, and raising such cards as "racism", they can guilt fence-sitters into joining "their" side. Sad, it really is.

You can't blame people for WANTING to come here. Most foreigners I've spoken with, America presents the best opportunities, and to immigrants who truly care about making the most of life, they're willing to risk their life for their family's. It's the system, the process of allowing them, or keeping them out. Let in whoever MIGHT want in, and make sure they're legal. That's it. Grant them an ID, book them on the books, track them, and require a solid base of English. Why is that wrong? If I go to a foreign country, I don't ask the WHOLE country to learn my language!? I learn the native language. And grow more intelligent in the process.

And if they want to work in slaughterhouses, to get established, SO be it. That's freedom, independence. If they hate it, so be it. If you migrate to a new country, does the new country subsidize your re-education so you don't work in shyt jobs? No! They take their measely $5/hr, go to the library, get a card, and learn, learn, learn, or stay behind in life forever.

I don't get the REAL issue here. And to those who think Ayn Rand's fvcked everything up, I'd actually see her philosophies make MORE SENSE in these situations. People involve too much about politics, religion, race, and nationalism that clouds BASIC humanitarium debates.

They need to
A. Learn English
B. Pay Taxes
C. Follow the same system that we have to
D. Learn some more English

Simple as that. There are tons of people waiting to get in legally. They are put on hold for years just to do it the right way. Those illegals, all they have to do is climb over or under a fence. Seems unfair doesn't it.

In this country..."Legal" Immigrants has MORE rights than in ANY other country. In Mexico...a "legal" immigrant can NEVER run for any official political position. Same goes with many Europeans countries. In fact, in Germany, parents MUST be Germans in order for a "legal" citizen of that Nation to occupy offical positions within the government.

The California Governor is a LEGAL immigrant that came to this nation as an adult.

Here are some things that I strongly disagree

1- "rights" for ILLEGAL immigrants

2- marching in behalf of the "rights" of ILLEGAL immigrants

3- changing the language of the National Anthem and the Pledge of Alliance to other than English

Furthermore, this is a nation that should abide by its rules. I don't go taking stop signs without suffering a consequence (ticket). If you come illegal to this nation, then you should expect to suffer some kind of consequences too.

I strongly believe we need a huge wall in our borders. It might cost LOT of money...well, we spent that amount in Iraq every month.

I am a full supporter for IMMIGRATION. That's what make this nation a great one. But I support LEGAL immigration. The mecanisms are in place. If people choose to ignore them, then they should pay the consequences. It is the law.

In what language? French or English?

I cannot sing the U.S. anthem...I don't know it in English. I don't care to know it in Spanish. And I was born a U.S. citizen...same with my parents and their parents. The reason I never learned it is because I went to school in one of the U.S. territories (which happen to have its own anthem and culture) and because I was born a U.S. citizen (had no need to learn it). You will be surprised how many AMERICANS don't know how many States are in the U.S. How many Americans do not know the entire U.S. Anthem (including some famous singers too).

I do however, volunteered and served in the U.S. Armed Forces during the first Gulf War. Like Chris Rock said (and I agree 100%)...I am paraphrasing this: "A true American...as the concept of being an American...is a person that served in our Military. Anyone that came into this Country from a sh!tty nation, looking for opportunities and became a citizen is ALSO a true American, because that person overcame obstacles to become an American. Anyone else is just lucky! Lucky that they came out of their mothers' puzzy in American soil!". LOL.

Another thing...I agree with your other part of your post. I feel it is disrespectful to change the Language of a National Anthem.

Well theres no way in hell they are going to be able to deport 11 million people, especially since alot of them are the parents of U.S. citizens.

And I think its silly as hell to care about our "culture" being changed. Whoopty ****ing do. Culture is continually evolving; if our ancestors in the past had been too resistant to changes then the world today would be a lot different place. It would be an even crappier place, IMO.

Doesn't bother me anyway. Porque yo hablo español. Honestly- no matter what they say, I think a lot of the people who are so pissed off about Spanish in the United States are just afraid of having to learn a second language. In their heart of hearts they don't think they could do it.

eskimos= aboriginal people =Inuit . They are real residents here. Its too bad they lost the land to the british. Now they live on the edge of mainstream society. that's terrible. The inuit people do have 1st priority in job selection but most of them can't seem to pass highschool. that's strange too.

Just call us Tundra Monkeys, or arctic apes... everybody else does.

People may not like my opinion and sometimes I even disagree with my own opinions. I believe that illegal immigrants should deal with their problems in their countries, instead of coming here and creating more problems. If their country has a poor economy, then they should fix it. In the long run it would be good for them and their country. I may be contradicting myself because I am too an immigrant, (a legal one). I may come out as harsh, but the illegal aliens that are already here should be deported. Also they should not live and take up social services that legal residents use. For example if the immigrant hire for unemployment the country has to pay for them. A majority of illegal immigrants that work here take the money out of the country, and into their families in other countries. Most of their net income goes outside of the U.S. economy, I should know. I also believe that people who want to come here and make a better life, that’s great, but they should be legal immigrants.

While signing a landmark illegal immigrant amnesty by former President Ronald Reagan once said “The simple truth is that we've lost control of our own borders, and no nation can do that and survive."

I myself, a legal immigrant and a citizen along with my mom came to the U.S trying to make a better life. My mom and I came to this country over 14 years ago. She applied for a visa and complied with all regulations dealing with immigration to the U.S. After arriving to the U.S. she worked hard to make us become a legal resident and finally a citizen, gaining all privileges of that citizenship. Why should illegal immigrants come and take those privileges away, while people like my mom worked hard to get here.

It is crazy that people want to pass laws saying illegal immigrants can drive. Alex Sennert said in class last year in Mr.Jones that “Illegal immigrants should take a drivers test and if they pass they could drive. It would cause fewer accidents and if you don’t let them drive they will drive anyways.” I do some what agree, but that is a privilege not right. The debate that immigrants built this country is true, but it all comes down to your morals and what you think is right. This topic is not an easy topic to talk about and I may disagree on many things I said and agree at the same time.

WHAT DO YOU THINK MEXICO WOULD DO.

goddam, I swear kick the fvcking illegals oujt. My parents spent years applying for citizenship and got it and learned english so they can too. If not, I say create an invisible dog fence and attach dog collars on all mexicans.

or the annexing idea is not a bad idea. we can annex mexico, kick out all those people and make them adapt to life in the sea, and use all that space for power plants ala solar/wind/hydro/nuclear/ etc

"Perhaps I'm just bitter. I know... I know... America is still the land of the free. Only, the right kind of laws just don't apply to ******s like me."

"The implicit premise of barring foreigners is: "This is our country, we let in who we want." But who is "we"? The government does not own the country. Jurisdiction is not ownership. Only the owner of land or any item of property can decide the terms of its use or sale. Nor does the majority own the country. This is a country of private property, and housing is private property. So is a job. "

What gives the government the right to restrict who I hire or invite to my home?

It is not their fault. We should not be paying into that system in the first place; taxation is nothing more than stealing, a forceful violation of the people's rights. In that sense, it is the governments fault for forcing their hand and distributing our money. If there was a real-life Robin Hood, someone running around stealing people's possessions and selectively giving them away, would I be at fault for taking some of the possessions from him? Who would be at fault for the stolen goods? The government should stop trying to play Robin Hood. It is impossible to steal something from someone if it does not belong to them.

A retired border patrol agent shows some common sense

This letter sent to Tennessee Senator Bill Frist from a retired border patrol agent, and it has more common sense than all the bull being spewed from the Senate, with the exception of a few sensible representatives.

Dear Senator Frist:

There is a huge amount of propaganda and myths circulating about illegal aliens, particularly illegal Mexican, Salvadorian, Guatemalan and Honduran aliens.

#1.
Illegal aliens generally do NOT want U.S. citizenship. Americans are very vain thinking that everybody in the world wants to be a U.S. citizen. Mexicans, and other nationalities want to remain citizens of their home countries while obtaining the benefits offered by the United States such as> employment, medical care, in-state tuition, government subsidized housing and free education for their offspring. Their main attraction is employment and their loyalty usually remains at home. They want benefits earned and subsidized by middle class Americans. What illegal aliens want are benefits of American residence without paying the price.

#2.
There are no jobs that Americans won't do. Illegal aliens are doing jobs that Americans can't take and still support their families. Illegal aliens take low wage jobs, live dozens in a single residence home, share expenses and send money to their home country. There are no jobs that Americans won't do for a decent wage.

#3.
Every person who illegally entered this nation left a home. They are NOT homeless and they are NOT Americans. Some left jobs in their home countries. They come to send money to their real home as evidenced by the more than 20 bil l ion dollars sent out of the country each year by illegal aliens. These illegal aliens knowingly and willfully entered this nation in violation of the law and therefore assumed the risk of detection and deportation. Those who brought their alien children assumed the
responsibility and risk on behalf of their children.

#4.
Illegal aliens are NOT critical to the economy. Illegal aliens constitute less than 5% of the workforce. However, they reduce wages and benefits for lawful U.S. residents.

#5.
This is NOT an immigrant nation. There are 280 million native born Americans. While it is true that this nation was settled and founded by immigrants (legal immigrants), it is also true that there is not a nation on this planet that was not settled by immigrants at one time or another.

#6.
The United States is welcoming to legal immigrants. Illegal aliens are not immigrants by definition. The U.S. accepts more lawful immigrants every year than the rest of the world combined.

#7
There is no such thing as the "Hispanic vote". Hispanics are white, brown, black and every shade in between. Hispanics are Republicans, Democrats, Anarchists, Communists, Marxists and Independents. The so-called "Hispanic vote" is a myth. Pandering to illegal aliens to get the Hispanic vote is a dead end.

#8.
Mexico is NOT a friend of the United States. Since 1848 Mexicans have resented the United States. During World War I Mexico allowed German Spies to operate freely in Mexico to spy on the U.S. During World War II Mexico allowed the Axis powers to spy on the U.S. fro! m Mexico . During the Cold War Mexico allowed spies hostile to the U.S. to operate freely. The attack on the Twin Towers in 2001 was cheered and applauded all across Mexico. Today Mexican school children are taught that the U.S. stole California, Arizona, new Mexico and Texas. If you don't believe it, check out some Mexican textbooks written for their schoolchildren.

#9.
Although some illegal aliens enter this country for a better life, there are 6 billion people on this planet. At least 1 billion of those live on less than one dollar a day. If wanting a better life is a valid excuse to break the law and sneak into America, then let's allow those one billion to come to America and we'll turn the USA into a Third World nation overnight. Besides, there are 280 million native born Americans who want a better life. I'll bet Bill Gates and Donald Trump want a better life. When will the USA lifeboat be full? Since when is wanting a better life a good reason to trash another nation?

#10.
There is a labor shortage in this country. This is a lie. There are hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of American housewives, senior citizens, students, unemployed and underemployed who would gladly take jobs at a decent wage.

#11.
It is racist to want secure borders. What is racist about wanting secure borders and a secure America? What is racist about not wanting people to sneak into America and steal benefits we have set aside for legal aliens, senior citizens, children and other legal residents? What is it about race that entitles people to violate our laws, steal identities, and take the American Dream without paying the price? For about four decades American politicians have refused to secure our borders and look after the welfare of middle class Americans. These politicians have been of both parties. A huge debt to American society has resulted. This debt will be satisfied and the interest will be high. There has already been riots in the streets by illegal aliens and their supporters. There will be more. You, as a politician, have a choice to offend the illegal aliens who have stolen into this country and demanded the rights afforded to U.S. citizens or to offend those of us who are stakeholders in this country. The interest will be steep either way. There will be civil unrest. There will be a reckoning. Do you have the courage to do what is right for America? Or, will you bow to the wants and needs of those who don't even have the right to remain here? There will be a reckoning. It will come in November of this year, again in 2008 and yet again in 2010. We will not allow America to be stolen by third world agitators and thieves.

There are only two things that bug me:
-One of the guys that led the march on the former Romenian Dictator said to CBC reporter; "bring me and another 300 people to canada, give us some land and we'll show you what we can do" I couldn't bolive he actually said it. If you are such a capable leader, and you know such capable people, then why can't you do the same thing in your own country and help your own people. Sadly, great deal of imigrants say this to get accross the border.
-American arrogance, and their foren policy is the other thing. (i'm not gona go any deeper then that...if they close the thread it's not gona be on the count of me)
