PSychology?!?! That's the major for all the useless deadbeats who just drank through college hahaha. Fvckin sad how you think that's a respectable degree to have.
I believe that sir is philosophy. The major that is worthless unless you have a very viable plan to use it on after you get out.

Go apply for a job at McD's or something man...a psych degree hahaha give me a break. You basically graduated college with a piece of paper and no real knowledge if you majored in psych hahahahahahaha "wide variety of options" HAHAHAHAHAAHHAAA

yeah I realize I'm being a ****, but seriously you need ot stop lying to yourself. You majored in psych because it was probably the easiest major offered at your school, probably close second was some bull**** art major. Don't lie to yourself saying you were "Realy interested" in psych....give me a fvckin break dude. Well it's too late now. Only thing you can do now is get a doctorate degree or else your degree is pretty much useless.
Youre not a very bright kid. Youre the one who makes post about how being arrogant is the cool thing to do. Even if you disagree with me, why do you feel the need to talk so much sh*t on the internet? What do you even know about psychology? What do you know about anything because the more you post, the more you show how inane the bullsh*t you spit out is. You dont even know me, so how do you know if i was interested in psych? It wasnt even close to the easiest major f*cktard. Its hard to say that chemisty, physiology, physiological psych and cognitive psych are easy. In addition we had to take harder stats classes than libreal arts majors. Your arrogance is more insulting and causes you to commit fallacies in your sophmoric argument. Just because you think youre better and know more than everyone doesnt mean you actually are. If you knew anything about anything you would know that you can get a job with any major. Just cause YOU think YOU can box doesnt mean you step in the ring with Ali.

So whats really your problem? Obviously you care enough about me to take time to write an illogical post. You and TyTe`EyEz can hang out together and talk sh*t about people you dont even know. I dont really care if you think im gonna be successful or if you think i was a drunk in college and got the easiest degree possible, cause you dont know what the f*ck youre talking about. What do you two do?

Rather than you two tool bags worrying about me and trying to impose you negativity, you should probably introspect on your own life and see what the hell youre doing. Youre a f*ckin idiot if you dont think people who majored in psych can make a lot of money without going to grad school. Even people who DO get a masters or phd in psych dont make a lot of money. Im pretty sure ive done more research than you two delinquints about the subject. You can parade around this site all you want and say what you will, but youre the one who has to live with youre dumbass choices. Desert fox, youre probably mad at me like a little b*tch because i gave you my opinion about your arrogant attitude. Youre like a little girl...go cry to your mom.

Correct me if I am wrong but doesn't Rollo Tomassi have a degree in Psychology? Maybe even a masters? You all worship the ground he walks on so a psych degree can be good even at the undergrad level depending on how you use it.

The only advice I can offer is that you start making connections with people who work in the psychology field while working a different job. Maybe there are conventions and whatnot you can attend to meet those people. Then you can start with a job in counseling, research, or assistant to a psychiatrist. I don't think you can reasonably expect a 90K a year anytime soon. Get some experience, find the right people, and perhaps further your education.

Good luck.

oakraiderz2, I love it when you start acting like a high and mighty hardass (which you always do). Why do you feel the need to prove yourself to a bunch of strangers? What does your insecurity stem from? Your the psych major, figure it out for me, cupcake...

Cool man, its whatever. I just asked what you do since you wanna talk about me graduating and what not. And you cant tell me, so it must be something awesome. Maybe you can point out how i act like a hardass as well...i just think its interesting how theres so much negativity on a site thats meant for self improvement. And its yourE (yes, im being an ass) all that money i spent for school on my psych degree taught me that. So how about next time you respond, you try to put together a coherent argument. I doubt you went to college, which isnt a big deal unless you start talkin noise about someone who did cause youre bitter. Feel free to tell me what YOU do and how YOURE so successful before you try to put me down for doin what i want to do. Why does anyone post any argument here to prove a point? Cause its a discussion forum. You seem like the kinda guy who didnt go to school and is mad at people who did. People who do or have gone to college ask what im gonna do with my degree, but they dont consider it a waste. So once again, rather than practicing your wit by stealing my radical lines, post something with some degree of intelligence...please...its ok...ill wait...

Here's an opinion from someone that was in a similar situation to Oakraiderz. I majored in Economics. Equally worthless degree with no real marketable skills. If you are going to pay $20-$40k per year in college you want a marketable skill. Accounting, Finance, Nursing, Engineer......all marketable degrees. These are all fields where you have a SPECIFIC skillset.

Being interested in pyschology is one thing. Solely majoring in it was a bad idea. Should have double-majored in something, like accounting for instance as a fall-back option.

The OP is saying, "i have plenty of options with this degree". I dont mean to be an a$$, but what options are those ? Sales ? I've been in sales, most companies don't really care if you have a college degree. The competitive companies that require it usually want you to have done some sort of internship while in school to develop your 'skillset'.

Okay, say you land a job in sales. Commission only is tough. Say you kill it, what is your goal ? To be a sales manager ? Because starting off in sales limits your growth potential as an employee

So while the OP is now out of school looking for a job, I'm sad to say, its too late to be a 'chooser'. You are now a begger. Granted, being young you can always change your direction.

But majoring in pyschology SEVERELY limited your potential after college.

Good luck.

You'll have to excuse my grammar error; my editor has the day off.

I'm working full-time for the state while I finish up my economics degree.

This.

Oak clearly you're frustrated because of the situation you're in due to the poor life choices you've made in the past, i.e. majoring in psychology. I look at the philosophy, psych, literature, art, etc. majors are my school and I think "goddamn I really hope they have rich parents."

And in your rage you rant against me, but still you don't really say what marketable skills you have Oak. What unique skills did this psych degree confer on you? I don't give a sh1t if I don't know you Oak, I can roast you on your poor choices all the same, which is exactly what you asked for when you opend this thread. The truth hurts.

At this point you probably have a woman (or multiple women) chasing you around, calling you all the time, wanting to be with you. So let's talk about how to KEEP a woman interested in you once you have her. This is BIG! There is nothing worse than getting dumped by a woman that you really, really like.

What exactly is the truth? Haha, and i opened this thread to let people know i graduated...why are you so mad in general and at me? And majoring in psych is a choice...what are my other poor life choices...? Relax man. Let me quote something you said earlier...
but seriously you need ot stop lying to yourself. You majored in psych because it was probably the easiest major offered at your school, probably close second was some bull**** art major. Again, tell me how having to take any physiology class is for an easy major?

Now where is the truth? Ive done enough research and i am intelligent enough to know what i got into. I studied psych because people are fascinating...and for you to say im lying to myself is pretty off base. And how have i made a poor choice? I graduated didnt i? The way youre talking it seems like i wont ever get a job and am doomed to work at mcdonalds. Wake up man, my life isnt over. Youre so skewed in your thinking you make stupid mistakes because you think youre a god or something. Ok...you think i made a poor choice...fine, but why would you feel proud that you can roast me on it? Ive heard all this stuff before, but thats not gonna stop me. If my degree was so bad i wouldnt get calls for interviews now would i?? There are TONS of people with only a bachelors in psych and theyre doing just fine...so if you will, explaing the logic behind your belief that i have to get a phd or i cant get a good job...again...ill wait...

The asinine attacks on Oak are really uncalled for! geez, this is a forum to help fellow guys out what ever happened to the spirit of this forum?
This is what im still trying to understand, but to no avail. Its funny how they seem mad that i got a degree in psychology and feel they should insult me. Too bad they wont say what their real problems are. If you dont think its a good choice, fine, i can dig it. But if you have to insult me and say im a retard then something else is up. I think their arguments lack logic if they think that since i have a degree in psych, i will be unsuccessful. Clearly they havent learned more than i have with my psych degree.

But yea, i thought about doing the esl thing but im not really interested in doing something like that.

Im just curious why desert fox and tyte eyes feel the need to attack me for something that doesnt effect them in any way, shape, or form...thats all.

Yea...cool. I dont have unique skills. I have skills like all the other psych majors. They taught us research skills, how about that? Of course we didnt learn specific information like engineers or accounting majors. My point was that if psych was the easiest major they wouldnt require physio, chemistry and other gay sciences classes, wise guy.

ps still no reason as to why you felt the need to get all pissy and try to insult me...i doubt you have a reason other than how great you are...hahaha tool.

I graduated college a few years ago with an equally worthless major (history)and probably even less direction. I went into banking, though that industry seems to be decimated right now. I also got laid off right when the downturn was starting, but I'm doing okay right now. My advice (and the road I took): get a temp job and work your a$$ off. At the worst, you'll make some extra money while you look for a real job. At best, you'll do well enough to persuade the company to hire you full time.

Don't listen to anyone who says "4 year degree means one in a related field." If they want a degree in a related field, they'll specify it right away. My last finance job had me, a couple of English majors, a computer science major, and an art history major. None of those had anything to do with mutual funds.

Exactly. This is what i was saying, but some jerkoffs dont understand. I want to get into finance or insurance eventually cause it pays well and its interesting stuff. Whenever i get a job im just going to work my ass off and give myself more opportunities. Im glad there are some people here who are incredibly close minded. 98% of the jobs ive applied for require a 4 year degree in just about anything. I think its sad when others critize people who get degrees that require grad school. I think if someone is gonna try to bring someone else down they should just f*ck themselves. Soon the economy will pick up and we'll both have good jobs. Im sure you learned cool stuff just like i did.

If you're going to go to college you may as well have a major that you can make money with after you graduate. That's the only reason I'm going to college in the first place.

Since people seem to be busting your ass and seem to know everything I want a question answered.

Would a bachelor degree in Biology be good?

I plan to get a bd in biology then go on to get a doctorate in physical therapy or maybe a double bachelor dont know yet.

Is this a good route?

Everyone I talk to say that I am going into a very lucrative job once I get there (6-7 yrs) and would be able to get a job fairly easily most say and if that isnt the case my mom would help (She rn)

They dont know sh*t, they just pretend they do. A degree in biology, is just like my psychology degree (at my school theyre both a BS)...except with a psych degree you learn things that are applicable to the real world. But since you plane to go to grad school...(whats a bd????) then you might be ok, but you need a phd to get real work, just like with psycholgy.

What these smartass kids dont know is that a degree is better than a hs diploma. You can get a job in finace if you major in cookie cutting. Just cause you have a degree in something doesnt mean youre going to be successful. I can get a degree in basket weaving, and have the drive to take over the world, and accomplish my goal. You can do whatever you dream of, and ignore these jokers who feel its necessary to put anyone and everyone down...even though they wont respond and read these posts...haha.

Just because you dont have the highest paying job doesnt mean you wont make money. Get your sh*t straight.
