Haha, sorry for the stupid comment I made! I just couldn't resist!

On a serious note, I lift dumbells, nothing serious. I have noticed though that after doing some cardio with weights I have been getting a couple of zits... I think this is due to sweat and dirt in the air!

What I do is after every workout I hit the shower and take a nice hot shower! And I use a neutrogena anti-acne soap and use that all over my face, back and arms...

Make sure you let the hot water flow over your face for a bit so the pores open up and unclog anything in there!

If you wanna learn how I am basically zit-free now then IM me on AIM sometime..

My screen name: neonbase

Take care bro! Hope taht helped!

Wash your face when you get out of bed. Wash your face after you shave. Shower after your workout. Shower again before you got to bed. Use a facial cleanser each time. If you're desperate, then keep a small thing of baby wipes with you and use them between showers.

If this is full-blown acne, then keeping clean won't get rid of them completely. Make yourself an appointment with a dermatologist, but only after they don't go away after a month or so of the cleaning regimen.

On the bright side, take this as a sign that the weightlifting is working. Pimples out of nowhere can only mean that your testosterone levels are back to where they were during puberty - which is the highest they get. Keep lifting weights and you'll keep them there for the rest of your life :D So long as you're eating sh!tloads of good food and increasing the weight every week, there shouldn't be any reason why you don't grow.

Wow, you guys know NOTHING about acne. I'm going to state a couple of things I’ve come to understand about acne and exercise/diet.

1.) Acne and diet are linked in 90% of the cases

Look online, new research also supports this claim, debunking the previous "myth that acne and diet are unrelated"

2.) Sweating is good for acne

Not only does it increase blood flow to the skin it also helps the body clean out the toxins. Furthermore, it works all internal organs so it strengthens the immune system etc etc etc. It DOESN'T cause acne because sweat is largely composed of salt, which actually destroys bacteria (note, i'm not saying don't wash sweat off, but just know there's really no harm that can come of sweating)

3.) Weightlifting CAN cause acne in some people

Acne is the result of unbalanced hormones, that much is true. However, it is not directly because of high levels of testosterone that weightlifting causes acne. It is because you induce a great deal of stress on the body by lifting weights, this in turn causes a surge of pretty much every hormone which can lead to outbreaks in some people.

Moral of the story. I'm willing to guess that your diet plan is more likely causing your acne rather than lifting weights on its own. The acne diet connection is based on refined carbs, stop eating them, and you'll stop getting acne. This means no pop, sugar, candy, bread, pasta, rice etc etc etc

Eat Meat, Fish, Seafood, Fruits (the low GI ones), Nuts, Veggies
This is probably a better way to get your calories anyways, plus it is Amazingly Healthy

I had bad facial acne for about a year till I switched my diet, now I have perfect skin

hah, I love how well the "diet doesn't affect acne" myth has gone around

here's just one link

http://www.acne-resource.org/understanding-acne/dietrole.html

Ask if you need more proof, I'll post some more links some actual research

On a sidenote, if you think giving up grains and junkfood is easy, heh, think again.

One of the hardest thing I've ever done, but it was worth it. Now I have a LOT more energy, amazing skin and I feel great all the time. For more info on exactly how you need to eat/what to eat go to
www.acne.org ---> Forums --->Holistic/Diet -----> Paleolithic
There's a lot of good info there

It's well worth the effort if you have a strong will and are actually interested in eating well.

I always take a clean mini towel to the gym and wipe the sweat off as im working out from my neck and just below my neck then shower when i get home. washe ur workout clothes good and us e fresh ones each time.... this is obvious hygiene, but anyways hormones change your body chemically as a result of intense workouts and can cause acne as well, which cant reeealyl be helped. some are prone to it and some arent as well.

Surfing has always been a quick cure for my face when I start breaking out.

It doesn't matter how good-looking you are, how romantic you are, how funny you are... or anything else. If she doesn't have something INVESTED in you and the relationship, preferably quite a LOT invested, she'll dump you, without even the slightest hesitation, as soon as someone a little more "interesting" comes along.

Newdude001, I suggest you read yourown sources.

It is necessary for people affected by acne to take care of their diet and consume as much plant-based, fiber-rich food as they can because it will not burden their digestive system and make metabolism easy. Acne-affected people should drink lots of water, have daily servings of colorful fruits and vegetables (which replenish different nutrients in body), have a tablespoon of cold-pressed seed oil daily, eat oily fish three times a week (to compensate essential fatty acids), eat plenty of whole grain, root vegetables, lentils and beans, and avoid alcohol and caffeine as much as possible.
Although there is no direct relationship between adult acne and diet, certain diet considerations can help the body's immune system and directly affect acne treatment.

They just advocate eating one way. I just put that up as proof that i'm not making this **** up. That link was just meant to show a diet-acne relation.

You can get results with what they say, but probably not close to what you'd want. Simply cause whole grains are often high glycemic too unless you know how to cook them and how to pick them out. Personally, i don't, and really don't feel like trying to search far and wide to find some very rare whole grains that wouldn't affect your insulin/bloodsugar levels very much. You're talking about organic wholegrain fettucini, parboiled. I'm willing to bet it'd taste horrible, so just avoid grains altogether.

I won't go into detail, check out the paleo diet, google it.

Beans are a much better alternative if you want to deviate from the type of diet i advocate.

Something that has really helped me stay pimple free is washing my face with a cleanser and drinking lots of water when I wake up and before bed... I might forget to washin my face in the morning with the cleanser since I have no time sometimes.. but washing before bed time is a must! Also change your bed sheets! I have found that when my skin is moist (like from lotion) it's way more prone to breaking out, so I only use it if my skin gets really dry!

Taking a multivitamin twice a day has really helped my acne! centrum is what I take!

Right now I'm basically zit free... Except for an occasional zit once every couple of days, and they tend to go away pretty fast!

If it's already showing white and the puss is already near the surface, just prick it with a needle and squeeze the puss out! If it's just red and kinda deep, don't mess with it! It'll only make it much worse!

Hope that helps! It has sure helped me! And I do believe that diet does affect acne! When I stopped drinking soda entirely, I've had way less breakouts! And drink plenty of water!
