They are in thousands on auctions and so long as interior is okey, dash insn't flooded, and engine isn't locked up, fixable. We talking about problems like water in oil pan, transmission, rear end. Corroded sensor connectors. Eaten up positive connections where salt water hit positive and it was under power. So long as inside modules, they are weather proved and components are coated in gue, water prove. It's just the connectors that get messed up, maybe onboard fuses because of shorts, maybe power mosfets.

If you could get such a car for around 5 to 10 thousand, it could be a deal of a life time.

Several years back I bought a rebuilder truck that was pulled from the ocean. Unplugged and cleaned everything electrical. Lots of corrosion on electrical corrosions. Replaced several control modules. Dealt with an engine light that stayed on all the time and never could figure out, but other than that it was good. I'd rather fix a wrecked car than do another flood project. Replacing body panels is more black/white and less trouble shooting and time invested. But definitely some deals out there.

Hi Duke,
I had a similar experience with Friends Car,that he had buried on the beach trying to launch his boat...After cleaning, went well, but it was pre-computer and had a manual gearbox, put flushing Oils through everything several times, went well but sand had got into the fuel tank and after a year or so the Oil Pressure started dropping,an Auto-smart friend diagnosed impacted sand in the Main Bearings...End of story,he got rid of it!
