What's wrong here are the following:
6'3" and 400lbs . That's so incredibly obese his own weight was sufficient to crush his rib cage in a free-fall from standing-to-lying down.
Resisting arrest. What so many people are ignoring (Jaylan and others) are the many times the officers asked Mr,. Garner to turn around so they could apply handcuffs, place him under arrest, and Mr. Garner telling the officers, "That ain't gonna happen," and "I'd like to see you try..." At that point, it was too late for the police to walk away and ignore the initial crime.
It doesn't matter what crime was committed, the police cannot simply ignore it and walk away because the criminal refuses to be arrested. Period!
You say, "no one deserves to die for selling cigarettes," but what you're ignoring is the fact that the law exists and, therefore, must be enforced. Why does that law exist? Taxation! Taxes to support public assistance of people who don't, can't, or won't work to support themselves.

There are too many taxes, too many laws, and none of those laws or taxes make sense in a Federal Republic because they do not raise revenue for the general welfare; they are only revenue to pay for the specific expenses of a very few. All laws are unenforceable if the police are told they can't enforce them; and equal justice stops being equal if a select group is told they can break any law they like simply be refusing to be arrested when caught.


The store he was standing in front of reported him for selling illegal cigarettes... it was not the police was watching him.. then his wife comes out & blames the cop... just can not get it through some of these blacks that " IF YOU BREAK THE LAW , YOU WILL SUFFER THE CONSEQUENCES ", plain & simple... yet they will Riot, March with signs blaming the cops... they REAP what they sow, PERIOD !

What do you expect is going to happen to you if you resist arrest? Do you think the cop should let you go? Should he say: "Oh sorry sir, since you're resisting, I'm just going to throw all my training out the window, and let you go. Have a nice day." Or should he, as gently as possible, just try to convince you to put the handcuffs on yourself. "Hey, since you're resisting arrest, how about I just give you these hand cuffs and you can arrest yourself!! That makes sense!"

I've been arrested a few times, it doesn't even come across as an option for me to resist. Although emotions do sometimes get in the way of rational thought, anyone who resists arrest is an idiot, plain and simple. It will do you no good. Take the arrest, then deal with it through the justice system. And, not only do you save yourself an a$$ beating by not resisting, but resisting arrest is ILLEGAL. So, whatever you were being arrested for, they're just going to add another charge to it, along with a few bruises.

I don't know how I can be black and racist, plus I do believe that Racism is in relation to a group with power keeping a less powerful group back in terms of economic progress. Discrimination and Prejudice is when someone has a preference of a type of person over another, based on anything including their skin color, gender, weight size, etc.

But I also don't get how when people criticize black people they are racist, but yet black people can spend all day criticizing other races like white people all day long? You can be black and say honkey and cracker all day, but if you are white and say nicca you have the right to be punched in the mouth?
