I remember one of the other members telling you to just ignore the topic of the "dirty dancing". I think that's a good idea, but somehow this just doesn't feel as something that can be just swept under the rug and forgot about,at least for her. This is weird. A girl wanting to have a "serious talk" about dirty dancing. A serious talk about dancing! Wow. That in itself would be enough for me to just forget about dating her. If she's uncomfortable just dancing with you,I doubt she'd be comfortable in a sexual relationship. I mean, that's just plain common sense.

So you think if she were single, then she'd be interested in dating you. I suppose anything is possible, but if that's so,you'd think she'd show some interest, some signal of that in ten years. And if she did at some point show signs of interest, but you were as you say;"a wimp" about doing anything about it,then that just made things worse.

But like I said,I seem to be in the minority of guys telling you to move on and forget about her,and as well all know, the majority rules. That's fine. I'd just like to hear some of the suggestion everyone else has for you. that's number one. And number two,I want to hear the results after you've applied those suggestions. I freely admit,I DO NOT KNOW HOW TO GET OUT OF THE FRIENDZONE. I know how to avoid it in the first place, that's so easy,it's ridiculous. But getting out of it,nope, haven't figured that one out yet.

Anyway,be sure to let us know how the talk goes, and if you do get some suggestions of how to go about dating this girl, and you apply those suggestions, tell us how things turn out.
I don't know if she wants to talk about the dancing, she was pretty cryptic. It's possible she wants to talk about something else. And like I said before, out of the 7 years I've known her we were apart for 4 years. And she did seem like she could have been interested back in high school but I never did anything so she ended up dating someone else (but she never told me about either of the guys she dated in a 1 year period; I ended up finding out about one of them through a mutual friend).

There seems to be some confusion. I think FriendZone only applies to men that have tried to engage in sexual relations to women, got rejected then designated to "friend" status. Normal guys don't approach women in order to just become friends. That means you're gay.
Bzzt wrong answer!

The true friendzone is when a guy and a girl have become friends over time. Hey may or may not have been interested in her from the start. Either way she seems him as completely non-sexual. In the vast majority of incidents, the man is in the friendzone because he has not presented himself as a sexual being.

Getting the girl to start seeing the guy in a sexual way is very difficult. That's why getting out of the friendzone is so hard.

I believe that the guys who approach a girl looking like they just want to be friends with a her actually have an ulterior motive. Because of their lack of game, the friend approach seems the most safest.

I am speaking completely from experience.

this is true in 99% of cases. But sometimes a guy and a girl could not be interested in each other when they met but become interested later on.

if u want tips on how to escape the firendzone read the thread by badmannaz on how he escaped the friendzone..

i agree with everything he said and as a result he managed to pull a friend he thought was waaaaaaaaaay out of his league...

he doesnt give a s%it!!!!!! its very important.. if it happens, it happens.. he doesnt write threads about why this chick is not showing any interest.. he goes out with her and has fun and if it happens it happens but if it doesnt then he doesnt care..

i know with my friends, attraction was built for each other over time and both times i really didnt care if i would hook up or not... with both girls thou we always had the best time together so eventually it was going to happen...
and yes, all girls started out having no attraction towards me.. i know everytime they spend any minute with me they have the best time!

with a girl who i have always wanted i honestly believe i have progressed from having zero chance to going out with her on the weekend and her being all over me... it has everything to do with building attraction (ie, being fun, confident, cheeky, lots of touching, NOT GIVING A ****!!)... its prob a good thing this girl has a byfriend otherwise it would of happened on the wkend and now my friendship would be in full of drama

every time someone writes a friend about being in a friendzone, it appears they want the girl alot and it probably shows through there actions and scares the girl off...
