Right, I was quoting ShePays, who mentioned it. I'm no expert but I think psychiatrists are the only ones that can write prescriptions. Therapists and psychologists are there to listen and guide but I don't believe they're MD's. (Maybe I'm wrong.) I think there's a perception that if you see any of them, you'll be put on meds right away before even exploring problems.
Therepist or counselor is my suggestion.

I don't really know, but an aging man alone in a houseful of women he can't f uck is apt to have a number of factors working against her. He gets depressed because his T is dropping, and doesn't really k now what's going on, and his wife pushes him to see a shrink. He ends up talking to some Hollyweird shrink that tells him all his problems are the result of toxic masculinity, and nothing to do with needing to get out of that henhouse and play golf with his buddies, on the regular. Next thing he knows, he's on antidepressants and estrogen, and being scheduled for a boob-job and a photo-shoot.
A house full of women he can't fvck? That would be an all out assault on testosterone and his male image. Female dominated houses don't give much ground to the male image. They will be nit picking and ripping chunks away and trying to weaken it.

It's too simple to just assume that your exp. with a therapist won't be helpful.
You owe it to yourself to shop around. Therapists are as varied in nature as men are. Talk to different ones, ask for a visit to get to know a little about HIM first...HIM, because a female therapist isn't that willing to help a man with a relationship worth a d@mn. Sorry but it's like apples vs. oranges. Been there.

Find a male therapist that has a personality similar to your own. This will help him to help you, and you will get more value from it.
It is a very enlightening thing to do, you will learn why you are the way that you are, as well. And gain insight into your life in general. We are conditioned by our upbringing and our past, and those we spend time with.
Btw...not all therapists or patients of them, are Leftists...Lol

Due to some events the last month and a half, I've come to realize my mind is completely fvcked up and I tend to give it what it thinks is happening. Even though I realize what is going on and I know what I have to do (or should do), I can't fight it. Therefore I do think it's time for me to seek professional help.
I did some research on the withdrawal effects of anti-depressants and anxiety drugs like Ativan, Xanax, etc... and what I found in my research, as well as some of the side-effects were so disturbing that I didn't feel comfortable pursuing this. At the end of the day, you are likely going to be prescribed Ativan for the initial symptoms and then an anti-depressant (which usually kicks in after 2 weeks) with a taper-off Ativan around that time. This is when you are overwhelmed by events that have occured to you, or that you have brought upon yourself.

Maybe you want to share what events you have gone through. If someone else on this board has gone through the same events, then maybe that could help you. Otherwise, I would do some research heavily on these type of popular drugs before taking them. Once the initial symptoms though the course of medication then this is when psychological therapy would usually start.

Again, I rejected all of this because there is actually one stigma worst than seeing a shrink. That is seeing a prostitute and then having your mind messed up and explaining all of that to a doctor. I feel too ashamed to admit to any doctor that I ever visited a prostitute and it was driving me nuts, so I just waited out the symptoms to go away and prayed. I'm sure what events you have gone through is not as bad as a visit to a prostitute so it should not feel like a stigma if you need help.

SayWhat said:
But there's this stigma for me, which is of course also a part of my mind playing tricks on me and that's the fact that once you sought professional help, you'll be screwed over for life and can never have a normal life anymore.
You mean the medication will change your brain chemistry and make you addicted to them, or suffer if you withdraw. You could lose your driver's license if you have a car. Yeah, think this through.

A psychologist would probably say get off old and interact in person.
Social media and websites like this one trigger us, put thoughts in our mind and focus on on what we are seeing and talking about. It kinda ends up being negative in a way.

There are psychological and physical wounds that only a man's faith can cure.

I never needed psycho doctors. But maybe if you're an atheist, even realizing you need help from outside and aking for help could comfort you.

Peace and Quiet

If you currently have too many women chasing you, calling you, harassing you, knocking on your door at 2 o'clock in the morning... then I have the simple solution for you.

Just read my free ebook 22 Rules for Massive Success With Women and do the opposite of what I recommend.

This will quickly drive all women away from you.

And you will be able to relax and to live your life in peace and quiet.

A therepist can assist many. Even those with hardened immovable mindsets which keep them locked in a position.

why psychiatrist in most cases wont work:
- he wont make you forget things
- he wont help you make money
- he wont help u get women or fulfill any other desires

IMO feeling bad comes from LACK of positive stimulants in life and the things we desire.. if your life SUGZ then no psychiatrist will help u

Another question:

How does insurance handle therapy?

In where I live is free. I mean you must pay from your salary "health insurance", this is the law. The problem is that they have record of everything. So if you apply to work or like it was in my case after the army to hold weapon license for security job and your boss asking your health record this may actually hurt ur chances to get the job, and anyway the the psychologist and psychiatrist that the basic health care giving you dont really give a **** about u, because you are not the one who paying them the cash, so private doctors are preferred. It cost somewhere like 150$ for a meeting

Did you guys tell them your girl issues lol? I wonder what a female doc would recommend to you guys regarding your dating issues.
That's a great question, I'm curious as to what their advise would be as well. My guess is nothing useful.
They'd probably say to stay away from women for awhile while you worked on yourself.

For those wondering what the events are that pushed me into this, I've bumped another thread I made a while back with an update "don't know what is going on with this girl (and myself)".
