How come many girls prefer skinny guys?

I'm talking about medium-built (5'7 to 5'11, 150-170) guys with hot girls. I'm 5'9, 160. If this is what most girls prefers on guys, maybe we all should focus more on personality and DJ skills?

What do you guys think?

I think most women prefer men that are slightly taller than that range, from say 5'9" to 6'1", but of course, it would be silly to say that that is absolute. It's a sliding scale.

About a man's weight - most guys think that women don't want anything less than a modern-day Adonis, but that's just crap - an amplification of their male insecurities. It's kinda like how chicks think that nothing short of a fashion-model skinny body (5'10", 115 pounds) will do for men. Most women just want a toned and athletic body - for an average height man of 5'9"-5'10", the ideal weight would be around 150-170 pounds.

I will *guarantee* that the meatheads in this forum will be up in arms over your post and mine, but all you have to do is ask a whole bunch of girls - you'll start seeing a pattern where girls just like trim boys with a bit of muscle. No need to become a steroid monkey for women. ;)

Focus on every part of the game. That's the best way to go IMO. Just because there are a lot of girls with average looking dudes doesn't mean they PREFER an average guy over a stud. On the flip side you don't NEED a well muscled body to get women either. But if it increases your success then why not invest some time in it? Plus, at least for me, working out increased my self confidence which is arguably the most important part of any DJ's game :D

I'm 6"2, 168 lbs. Sure, gaining another 10 or 15 pounds of muscle would be nice, but don't let it stop you from approaching girls. As long as you've got some game, the girlies will go after you.

So long as you are-not Fat...

Most women are relatively flexible about bodytype.
Except that most don't go for fat guys(like me!)
They like to claim that they are not as superficial as guys.
But at least here in the U.S. it's very rare to see a hot chick walking arm-n-arm with a fat guy. Although I fairly often see skinny guys with fat chicks!

Channel your excited feelings into positive thoughts and behaviors. You will attract women by being enthusiastic, radiating energy, and becoming someone who is fun to be around.

If your overweight and don't try to better yourself I don't blame the girls for not going for you. If you don't try to improve yourself how can they even be remotely attracted to you?

What do you guys think?
Going to the gym for the sole purpose of looking better for women is weak. Besides, some women like more muscular guys, some don't, it is, as always, a matter of preference.

yeah i think that most girls like the justin timberlake height/body..
with bigger muscles not a problem but less muscles prob a bit skinny..
the george costansa body is certainly the least liked..

as mean as this is, i think that height is more important then weight.. i'm about 5'11. i sometimes feel short, i would hate to be shorter then i am now. and i really feel for the guy who are shorter..

i think that the "justin" height/body type is well suited to clothes, is certainly not "too big" won't create unsightly stretch marks, not so skinny that its like, oh a computer geek..

but its just another thing like a really great skin and really great smile and really great eyes.. sure some people may have all that, but you don't need it all..
unfortunantly for me, i have a below average smile (need braces but scared of them) and i have bad skin, freckles + some pimples.. however, i've never had a problem pulling girls.. alot of them have there own problems, maybe larger then i'd like, uglier then i'd like.. but of course with all of that comes the hotties, and i've had alot of hotties, and currently got an 8 out of 10 which i'm happy with..

Jake your weifght limit is too low - women actually prefer big men more than skinny men - women dislike skinny. I'm 5'10" 190 pounds - and i'm slim in appearance. I think most of my weight is in my head (damn brains) :(

Just avoid the beer belly and go for the 'highest weight!! Most will be muscle if you workout. Not geotesque bodybuilder work-out 10 hours a day kind - 3/4 times a week for 45 minutes only.

My goal is to lose in my stomach - 5' 10", 175 - 180 pounds will be ideal, depending where you have it.

Here are a few things I've been told when I lament about being horizontally enhanced and vertically challenged.

You see plenty of "nothing" guys with women dripping off them. Why? These guys are usually ****y SOBs that exude self-confidence and charisma. They own the room when they walk into a party. They have a natural leadership quality. They might have money but that doesn't necessarily show when meeting someone for the first time. They might be powerful captains of industry but again, that doesn't necessarily reveal itself in a first-impression scenario.

Women friends tell me that women tend to be less superficial than guys and tend to gravitate to the strong silent mysterious rebel types. Notice how there aren't a lot of Brad Pitt look-alikes walking around. IMHO, people here in SoCal are much more superficial then elsewhere.

Now here's what I've noticed in my own experience: I signed up once for Match.com. Being only 5'4", I set one criteria for a woman 5'4" or shorter. Every single one of these women was looking for precisely the same thing word for word. They all want a guy between 5'8" and 6'2". The fact that they all wrote the same measurements blew me away. Superficial.

And here's one other gotcha for short guys. A few years ago there was a Diane Sawyer story about how women dismiss short guys out of hand. She gathered a bunch of women and a bunch of guys. the guys were put in a room police-lineup style complete w/ one-way mirror. The women were asked who they'd like to go out with just on looks alone. Nobody picked the short guy. Then they were told something about each of these guys. The taller ones were painted as less successful, lousy family background, little higher-education, etc. They still picked the tall ones. The short guy had to be turned into a virtual god with things like him being a doctor, a self-taught musician, independently wealthy, on and on and on before they girls gave him a chance. Superficial.

Still, it depends on who your dealing with and what kind of person they are. If she's a self-made woman who's a professional and stands on her own two feet, she might be more attracted to someone who's her intellectual equal. If she's a twenty-something party chick, looks are going to be more important.

Seems to me that as women age, their priorities change from wanting to jump every walking GQ cover that crosses their path to wanting someone who's going to be a provider, a protector, and a companion.

I disagree. Do you have *any* idea how muscular a RIPPED frame of about 5'10" and 150-160 pounds looks? Look at actor Jason Scott Lee, who starred in the Bruce Lee biopic, "DRAGON". The man is aboslutely shredded to the bone, and quite thick and muscular. He weighed about 155 in the film, and he is 5'10"/5'11". If he were 180 instead, he would look bulky and unathletic. Shred down to about 5-6% body fat at 5'10". and then we'll talk. I assure you - you will quickly change your tune about what the "ideal" weight is for an average height man. If you weighed 180 with 5% bodyfat you probably wouldn't even be able to scratch your own back - that's going overboard - an extension of male vanity manifested in one's obssessive bodybuilding habits. :D

The ideal size for a guy is about 6'1", 185 lbs. You know, the naked greek guy throwing the discuss.

But its very possible for guys shorter/taller/heavier/lighter to be able to look good anyway.

I'm 6'0" and I weigh 200 lbs. I don't have washboard abs, but because of my build and muscles I actually look rather thin when I have a shirt on.

Its all up to each guy how they carry themselves. I personally feel a lot better with muscles so thats the way I go, so I work out. But I know skinny guys who look pretty good too.

Jake - you forget we all have different frames - look at the bone structure of all those who are 5' 10" - not one man's bone structure. Some people have more weight in their legs, buttocks, shoulders, heavier/thicker bones etc At 170 I am slim - very slim but muscular! At 160 I'm dying!!

It's very easy for the average man who's between 5'10" and 6' and has the typcial mid-to-high 20s bodyfat percentage to claim that "210 pounds" is his ideal weight. Somewhere underneath all that *LARD* is a lean, mean fighting machine whose ideal weight is closer to 160-170.

Men frequently err by talking too much. They often monopolize conversations, droning on and on about topics that bore women to tears. They think they're impressing the women when, in reality, they're depressing the women.

Argument 1:

- It is uncommon and somewhat difficult to gain large amounts of muscle in the teen years due to high metabolism and high activity levels.

- The teenage years are when most people start f*cking other people.

- Girls are going to get *used to* having guys that are slimmer.

Argument 2:

- It is time consuming and requires effort at ANY AGE to get big.

- Consequently, most guys will not be super beefcake big.

- Since women are TAKEN and not ENTICED, most desireable women will be taken by guys who are not super beefcake big.

Argument 3:

- For some strange reason, some guys who get big tend to only like to "show off" to girls, not really using thier *attractiveness* to its full potential.

- Then, some moderately attractive girl will throw sex at him and--over a period of time--ensare the lazy guy for herself.

- This leaves the hotter women untaken by the big guys, because they are *trapped* with the somewhat-attractive women.

Argument 4:

- Most guys, when they figure out they are 'hot' to girls', won't put in anymore effort then they need to.

- As a consequence, they become indigent and lead somewhat dissipated lives.

- 'Bigness' (as well as other things) become drowned in a sea of p*ssy.

Get as big as you can, without your belly getting too big. The bigger you are, the less intimated you'll began to feel, and your confidence to approach women will sky rocket. And yes, women love huge muscles. Just try not to be too aggresive and hurt the women. Weight lifting should become every man's hobby. We should all shoot for pure alpha male status!!!

If your 5'10 and weight 190, you must look fat or really chubby. I'm only an inch shorter than you and i do not look skinny at all. And how do you go for the highest weight without eating alot? For my hieght, if i try to gain more weight, i probably end up getting big fat belly.

55kg? Isn't that like 130 pound? Yea dude - you are skinny as FAWK. Eat better, and more. Then again, I've noticed that compared to Americans, everyone else is skinnier and leaner. Europeans and Africans included. It might have something to do with America's literal *obssession* with fitness and bodybuilding. Sometimes we go overboard. :D
