Dude, you're skinny. If you're 5'6" you should weigh at least 140 in lean muscle, even if you're an ectomorph (which you sound like you are... do some internet research on bodytypes, i.e "ectomorph"..."meso/endomorph". Ideally, you should weigh a solid 150-155 in ripped muscle. I'm 5'9" or so and I'm shooting for about 165-170 in lean muscle. I want that shredded Bruce Lee look, but with about 10 pounds more bulk.
I know ain't of much comfort, but you just need to 'grow into' your skin. Sure your slightly under-average height isn't something GREAT - but it's not the worst trait that you can have. You could have had a harelip or a deformed foot. I know some people who have deformities, but they put on a brave face. I respect them for that, and most importantly - HOW can they live the rest of their lives if they trip over something they can't change? It's a dead-end street, so don't go there.
The best you can hope for is to seriously improve yourself in other areas - most importantly a manly personality, a health-self image, and perhaps a special talent that you're passionate about and REALLY good at.
172 lbs, some muscle but not ripped or anything. I'd like to see what my body fat % is now but I haven't seen it since about a year ago when I was 220 lbs, 25% (I started cutting from this in the summer). I have a little bit of a gut still. I think I should lose another 10 lbs or so and then start bulking.
you all sound enormous and huge... maybe those are american standards, or gym standard, but where i live i'm perceived as more muscular than average and everybody compliments on my body, even though i'm just 140lbs at 5'9.
maybe we have lower standards, since yesterday a friend of mine said that brad pitt is "huge" in fight club, while everybody in here seems to refer to him as skinny but ripped
anyway, i want to cut a bit for the summer, in order to make my 8-pack more visible. in september, i'll get back to bulking until next june, and i want to get to 155-165 lbs very ripped and cut, not more than that
im 5'7" at 140 or so, but im a boxer and im going to be fighting in september so i need to get down to 130... i probably just need to drop like 5 lbs of fat i still have and the other 5 lbs can just be dropped by water weight dehydrating myself.
by the end of the year i'm looking to be 160 again, only instead of 8-10% bf like before, i'll be 5-7%.
i've had a bit of a problem for the past 2 months or so, cuz every week i get myself back up to 153-154, then after every weekend it's back down to 149-150. i really will need to put more energy into eating on the weekends, especially friday, saturday nights when i just nod off instead of doing one fvckin situp to get some supper. i'll learn
later guys
I don't make goals based on body weight tho. Usually when I make goals, they're either strength oriented (i.e. I wanna add 50 lbs to my military press), or appearance oriented (I want thicker traps, or better obliques).
Mostly tho, I just keep track of my lifts, and try to improve them. As long as I keep gaining strength in my lifts, I don't care whether or not I keep getting bigger, I'm pretty happy with my size/the way I look now.
