I think you nailed it exactly, except he wasn't just lonely, people laughed at his social awkwardness. I saw a clip of the Montel show on the internet where he brought in some of Cho's former HS classmates and they practically defended Cho, saying he was the quiet kid and everyone was mean to him. I remember reading about the "go back to China" comment. This is someone who was bullied his whole life and was always left out. It is so easy to develop the mindset that 'everyone is against you' when stuff like that happens. I didn't really get picked on in school, but I know how it feels to be left out. It feels like ****, and it's much worse on the rare occasions I was picked on, you really start to hate the people. Now imagine if that happened throughout your whole life, every single day. I don't know if even I would be able to take it. Although I don't agree with Cho's actions, I can definitely see how A lead to B, and it doesn't surprise me at all. For some reason I don't see him as completely mentally ill, he may have had Asperger's, but that itself can't make you into a killer.
Very interesting, I'd like to see that episode. When was it?
Again, if he was racially mocked throughout his entire teen years for his speech whenever he opened his mouth - then it's understandable why he wouldn't talk in college after that. He was trained to stay silent to avoid teasing.
Honestly, this is nothing new. Hitler was bullied by rich Jewish kids when he was young - and we all saw where that led...
In any case, this pornified society is now survival of the sexiest - and
the way you get treated in life IS proportional to how sexy you are.
If Cho had been sexy, he would not have gotten mocked and bullied. Girls would have found his slurring "cute" or offered to tutor him and defend him against any teasing. He would have had more friends and girlfriends.
When you really look at social interactions now - isn't this the case? The natural alphas and popular girls are basically the sexiest ones. They can coast through life getting drunk and partying all the time and be full of flaws...yet still remain popular because they are sexy.
Meanwhile, if you are unsexy, no matter what you do it is "never quite enough." Cho figured out through his traumatic adolescence that he was "stuck" at the bottom of the sexual food chain and so felt as if his fate was already hopelessly sealed in life. And if you feel your life sucks that bad with no hope for improvement, then what's so great about it? Why is death so much worse than pain that may never end?
So yes, the fact that he couldn't get laid was symptomatic of a deeper problem that caused his mistreatment and misery in life. When you're not sexy, life
REALLY SUX! Why do you think these seduction communities even got started? To deal with this whole "new" paradigm where everything boils down to how hawt you are!
