Guide to a successful "date"
Dating is a major part in high school life. The point of dating is to go out and have fun, and also have an experience with different kinds of people.
Before going out on a date, you should always look your sharpest, and feel confident.
Things to do before the date
-Leave yourself enough time to get ready
-Take a shower
-Shave off your beard/mustach, girls prefer a clean shaven man
-Brush your teeth, use mouthwash
-Don't forget deodorant, find something that lasts long, so you don't get musty during the date
-Splash some cologne on your neck, and behind your ears. (here is a post about what colognes
to use http://www.sosuave.com/ubb/Forum2/HTML/000050.html )
-Make sure that you are well dressed. Find an outfit that matches (don't wear a red shirt and
green shoes)
-Trim your finger nails
-Now that you are ready, get the stuff that you will need on the date
Things to bring for the date
-Gum/Mints...make sure that your breath smells good
-Cell phone (incase something happens)
-Condoms (more then one!)
-Some people do this/some don't, but if you are going to bring flowers (make sure there not roses)
tell her that YOU liked them, that's why you picked them out for her.
-Comb, if your hair gets messy
-Chap stick (for when you make out with her )
for more things, check out http://www.sosuave.com/ubb/Forum2/HTML/000549.html
During the date
-Always be a gentleman. This is what confuses a lot of DJ's. There is a difference between a NICE GUY (what you don't want to be) and a Classy Guy (what you want to be). A classy man opens doors, but when he does it, it seems natural. He pays for the date. A nice guy gets used. HE pays for the date, and her friends and he is used as a tampon, and helps the girl with her problems from SOME OTHER GUY!
-treat her with respect
-DON'T talk about being a couple
-Compliment your date. Tell her that her outfit looks great on her. Don't flood her with
compliments, it makes you appear as desperate. Find an object that she is wearing (ring, earring,
bracelet, necklace) and talk about it. Ask her when she got it...it might mean something to her
, and this could start good conversation)
-Keep conversation simple (advanced tips coming from me later this week or next week!!)
-Make her laugh. Tell her stories about things that happened to you during the week. Something
funny happen in school? TELL HER!, make her feel comfortable
-Allow her to tell you about herself, and only say things about yourself if you can relate to it.
If she keeps asking you about yourself, tell her some things, keep her curious. BUT don't just
sit there and listen, make sure you talk as well.
-Comment on the things she says. Agree or disagree with her, show her that your in control over the conversations (more on this coming in my next post)
Pick a fun date!
Dinner and a movie could be fun, but try new things! There are many dates that could be more fun and more interesting. There was a great post about dates, so I am going to give the author of the post credit. Find something that is not too romantic. Set it off as a date between two
people: AmgineEX ( http://www.sosuave.com/ubb/Forum2/HTML/003002.html )
Some from his post are:
-Mini-golf
-Pool Hall
-Bowling
-Park
-Carnival
-Rent a movie
-Ice cream
-Mall
Don;t end your date after doing one thing. If things go well, take her out to a cafe, or for a walk. During this time, you should know her interests, and things she does for fun.
Ending a Date
Remember that TIMING is everything in the dating world. If you make a move too soon, you can blow your chances. Once you do this, there is no going back...
But if you feel the date went great, and the time is perfect, go for it!
If you feel the time does not come, it will come sooner or later. Make sure you get enough kino in throughout the date, and increase physical contact following. Get a hug, or even a kiss on the cheek. Anything is better then nothing ;-) .
Here are some tips from the experts: http://www.sosuave.com/quick/tip98.htm http://www.sosuave.com/quick/tip186.htm
if you feel i left anything out, please tell me and i will add it later
Good luck DJ's!
