Die Hard,
So was her husband not the real victim here? We are forced to endure stories of "woe me" whereas this man is the laughing stock of the entire nation.
I refuse to see her as a victim while she was engaged in simultaneously fvking several men behind her husband's back.
Well, this case isn't really about her cheating on her husband. Yes, she did cheat on her husband, but that't not the main aspect about this case. The main aspect abut this case, is the fact that she is a teacher and the guys she fvcked were her students. That's what the news story is really about and that is what the discussion in this thread is about.
The fact that she fvcked four of her students, is why she lost her job. And the fact that she fvcked four of her students, is the reason why a court sentenced her to 5 years in jail. This would all be the case REGARDLESS of whether she was married or not!
The fact that she cheated on her husband has nothing to do with this all. She is not being punished for that fact.
So keep things in perspective:
* The guys liked fvcking her and she didn't try to bribe them, offer them better grades in exchange for sex or blackmail them, SO SHE DID NOTHING WRONG TO THOSE GUYS.
* However, if sexual relations between teachers and students are allowed, teachers COULD abuse their position towards students. So yeah, she should absolutely be fired if the school board finds out about it.
* But punishing her with 5 years in jail is a bit excessive, to say the least. I mean, come on... She has proven to be unfit for the position of teacher, so she should never be allowed to hold a job as a teacher again. But throwing her in jail for 5 years as if she committed some horrible crime, that's just bullshyt.
* This is the reason she feels victimized! And she has every right to! If you're unable to act professional and meet the requirements of your job, then you should not be allowed to work that job anymore and not whine about it. But if you GET THROWN IN JAIL FOR 5 YEARS because of that, you have every right to feel victimized.
* She also feels victimized because the students basically did this to her. They decided to tell the whole world about the sex and show videos of it, which resulted in 5 years of jail for her.
Thanks, guys... I make your boyhood fantasies come true letting you fvck me and then you thank me by telling it around and causing me to spend 5 years in jail.
So none of this has anything to do with the fact that she cheated on her husband.
Putting her in jail for 5 years has nothing to do with cheating on her husband, it would have happened if she were single as well.
The students telling around and showing videos of the act, has nothing to do with her cheating on her husband, it would've happened if she were single as well.
Therefor, her feeling victimized (because of the aforementioned events) has nothing to do with cheating on her husband either. She would've felt victimized if she were single as well.
In other words Danger, your earlier comment suffers from confirmation bias:
We are forced to endure stories of "woe me" whereas this man is the laughing stock of the entire nation.
I refuse to see her as a victim while she was engaged in simultaneously fvking several men behind her husband's back.
You are just using this case to confirm your idea that women always fvck men over and then try to shake off their responsibility for it by playing the victim card.
But in this case, her responsibility to her husband has nothing to do with her feeling victimized. She would feel victimized if she were single, as well. So this case is not a confirmation of your idea at all, YOU JUST WANT IT TO BE!
And that's really why I'm taking a stance in this thread. Lots of us have this
confirmation bias all the time. Everywhere we look, we see examples of women being the cause of all problems in the world. Even when that's not really the case, our bias still makes us think IT IS! This seems like a step in the wrong direction to me, we are overdoing it...
Of course we need to constantly remind ourselves of 'women and their ways' and be vigilant. But when you purposely search for the negativity and even detect it there where it is not present, you run the risk of it becoming a self fulfilling prophecy.
The very need for
Burroughs to post a thread like this is unhealthy (not to speak of
MatureDJ, who does nothing BUT post threads like this). The need for
betheman to jump on it and present this woman's behavior as that of a "psychopath" is unhealthy.
Overemphasizing women's negative behavior is unhealthy in the first place, let alone
seeing it in places where it's not really there...
