Aside from what you see on the DEA sponsored ads on TV, pot is not a harmful drug, especially in moderation. If a girl occasionally smokes pot, it does not for a second mean that she is smoking pole to get it! It does not mean that she will slide down the slippery slope and try harder drugs!

This is true...It just seems like most people here (not you) need to understand that the vast majority of people who use drugs DO NOT become addicted. I think Lost in Translation has seen "Requiem For A Dream" a few too many times.

I smoke weed every once in awhile (used to do it everyday back in the day) and I can confidently say that I am not a street degenerate. I've also tried an assortment of other drugs -some of which many of you puritans would deem as hard drugs , and I am alive and well- no addictions that I am aware of. In fact, I have never again done those hard drugs and don't plan on. Drugs aren't the problem per say, it's the users who determine whether the drugs will live up to the negative image society and our hypocritical gov depict of them. Drugs can offer a enjoyable and safe experince in the hands of a responsible person while they can be agents of suicide in the hands of stupid people who lack self control.

I'm going to try to not pass judgement on your girlfriend or what she says, but (of course!) I'll give you my opinion...

I used to run with a crowd that essentially lived for whatever drug they could get their hands on. More often than not, that was pot. Generally speaking, the crowd I hung with was not a clean cut prep-school bunch by a long shot, and along with that came girls who were of the same ilk. All of them put out. Maybe not to who whoever provided the high of the day, but it was plain to me that this was those girls' way of getting laid. I didn't trust them, but had no trouble getting in their pants by getting them high.

Now most of these folks didn't go on to become curbside waste, it was just a phase. They grew up, got a clue and realized getting high was not everything there was in life.

There's a gal I know who's mentioned to me that she'd like to try smoking pot. I told this HB10 on the spot that she'd be much better off not to even think about it, and relayed to her essentially what I said above, minus the part about most of these folks eventually turning out OK. I dislike smokers of any sort, being a former smoker who quit 10 years ago. Her opinion of me is high, so hopefully this will influence her...we'll see....

From what you have said, I'll bet she's doing someone else, and as was previously mentioned, keep an eye on her friends. Judge for yourself if you think she's boning someone else or not, or is likely to.

For the record, this is coming from somone that used to smoke the green stuff... a lot.

I have heard one side saying to kick the girl to the curb, and another to chill out and smoke one with her. Personally, I do not think there is anything wrong with smoking a joint once in a while. To me smoking and drinking are a lot more dangerous and meeting a girl with a compulsive habit in either would be a dealbreaker for me (especially smoking).

Rather than looking at wether or not she does it, maybe you should look at wether or not she is honest with you. From what you are saying she is being up front about it, and her saying that she only does it with her friends shows she is not addicted . If she said she wouldnt smoke weed anymore and then goes and does it behind your back, then I would kick her to the curb. Of course if she does any other drugs then I would do it regardless.

Of course this is just my opinion. You have to decide wether or not smoking the occasional joint is a big enough issue to be a dealbreaker. If it is, then maybe it would be better to get rid of her because she isnt going to change for you.

in terms of health and well being weed is only about 1000000x better than alcohol.
