Yeah. This black guy is trying to go to work and actually support his 6 kids, and they are preventing him. How many of the male protestors don't even take care of their kids. How ironic.

Dude's A Sellout

Unfortuantely, dude is a part of the problem. Instead of b*tch about his six kids, he's needs to be a part of the protest. There needs to be a general strike in Freguson and St. Louis in conjunction with boycott until the first of the year.

Why? Because he wants to go to work? You must be joking.

There's a misconception that all of this is about Mike Brown, it isn't. It's about a police force run amuck. The Michael Brown incident didn't happen in vaccuum and people rioted they realized that Mike Brown could have been them. I willing to bet that damn near every black person in Ferguson has a had f*cked up encounter with Ferguson P.D. and the St. Louis County Sherriff's Department.

As we all know police departments and sherriff's departments are an extension of the executive branch, which are ultimately responsible to mayor's and county executives. In order to these people's attention, you have to stop or dispute the flow of money and money stops the bullsh*t. If you flex economic muscle, you suddenly get a person's attention and respect.

Apparently dude feels as if the inconvience of potentially being mistreated, abused, harrassed, brutalized, and possibly murdered by the police is the greater the inconvience of missing a week's salary. If this was the mindset in Birmingham, AL in 1954, black people would still be sitting in the back of buses.

this is a bullsh!t post with bullsh!t logic... my man was trying to get to work to support his family-- as a man is supposed to do... He wasn't b!tching about his kids, he was pointing out the fact that protesting in this manner only serves to harm people whom were never part of the "problem" that these protesters perceived....

Didn't the Birmingham Bus Boycott adversely effect the blacks who used those buses the most? Should Dr. King and Malcolm taken a step back to protect their families when the death threats started coming in? If Civil Rights leaders of the past could literally put their lives on line for then, then it's not asking much for people to go on strike as a means of voicing their displeasure at blatant f*ckery involved on the part of the procesutors for not presenting the evidence in sucha manner to get an indictment.

People talk of black people talking responsibility, but it seems that they only want us to take responsibility in a way that's deemed social acceptable to the Dominate Society.

Its about black people protesting against all white America. Its not about people protesting against police brutality. The is no proof that the shooting was un-justified.

Maybe white people should give blacks a reason to complain and protest.

Most of these protesters are angry at white police, and white people in general. That is very obvious.

Getting to work to feed your children is never selling out.

Blocking nurses and doctors from getting to work to save lives?

Some lives matter I guess.

I guess under this logic, it's also okay to start looting businesses as a way to voice your displeasure at the police force.

Maybe we should amend the Constitution so that the Right to Assemble also defines looting as a form of legal protesting.....as long as it's done by Blacks, of course...

People can protest whatever they want in this country. Our freedoms grant us those rights to voice our opinions through protest. Just because you don't like what is being protested you hold objection to it. If this was a tea party protest against Liberals and blacks you would have no problem with it. Get over it. It's happening. It's not going away.

It ain't 1954, bruh. It's actually 60 years later.

I've been fvcked with cops plenty in my day. Some of it was me being in wrong place at the wrong time, and some of it was me just being a youthful idiot. There were cops that gave me a pass, then there were cops that abused their power and turned something minor into huge inconvenience for me. For these latter times, if I was black, I could have easily blamed it on that. But I'm not, so I blamed it on the cop being an idiot, and me getting fvcked with. <------ It happens to white people too.

You know how much I get fvcked with by cops now? Null. You know why that is? It's because I don't give them a reason to fvck with me. Law abiding citizen right here.

Michael Brown was a man who commited a felony. He wasn't armed, but he was dangerous. Pick and choose your facts all you want, but if you look at this thing objectively, you might be able to see it in a whole new light.

Except here in NY its a multitude of races in the Ferguson protests(and yes, many whites). This is very much about the police, not just race...especially after how unpunished officers have been across the country for years with regards to unarmed killings.

Its about white police officers, and for many of the blacks its about white oppression.

I am white, and have not oppressed any blacks.

I don't owe blacks anything. I should be able to get all the same benefits as blacks. Including scholarships created for blacks.

When are you starting work on a memorial for all the blacks that are killed by blacks and the police officers black and white that die in the line of duty trying to protect them.

The liberal war on poverty that morphed into a huge mother-provides-all government has resulted in generations of believers that anything desired can be obtained by the mere asking and if the desired is not forthcoming, the mere taking. Personal responsibility for either behavior or results of behavior and effort has become obsolete for huge numbers of US residents. The issue has long stopped being civil rights. It is more than just politicians trying to stay in power. We have created a way of life that is counter-productive and debilitating unto death itself. Lincoln emancipated the slaves, and liberalism has re-enslved them all.

And 60 years later we're still dealing with the same issues.

That's the big difference. You got a pass where as with black people that rarely is ever happens. Due to their own preconceived notions about black people, the police think that were criminals and as a result we should lock up and or killed.

For you dealing with the cops is a minor inconvenience, for me an encounter with the police could result in me losing my freedom or my life.

However it disproportionately happens to blacks. When you have black people regardless of age and socioeconomic status being f*cked with because of race that's a problem.

How do you explain the numerous amounts of people that are accosted by the police without cause? I don't get f*cked with by the police either for the reason you stated, but there have been too many times where there was no reason for them to enter my life when they have and unfortunately (unlike you,) I can't guarantee that the police will enter in my life uninvited.

Michael Brown was perceived as "dangerous," due to Darren Wilson's poor policing. Dude never had control of the scene and I don't understand how you a person get that close to you. Why was he trying to question a suspect from the car like he was trying to holla at a chick. Why didn't stop the car, get out and then question them.

What benefits that blacks get that you are currently excluded from?

Including scholarships created for blacks.
1) Why do want a scholarship created to help a historically disenfranchised minority who were hindered from getting a college education?

2) Do you believe that black people are the only group in America that have scholarships specifically for them?

3) What's the stop you from applying for a scholarship for blacks?

White Student Lauded After Returning College Scholarship Meant for Blacks

http://usnews.nbcnews.com/_news/201...ing-college-scholarship-meant-for-blacks?lite

No big deal.

That's how 17-year-old Jeffrey Warren describes his decision to return a $1,000 college scholarship meant for black students.

“I just thought it was the right thing to do,” says Warren, who is white.

His decision is winning him praise for his character – and offers of alternate financial help.

A hush, followed by some giggles, enveloped the Martin Luther King High School gym in Riverside, Calif., when it was announced on senior awards night that Warren was the winner of the scholarship awarded by the local Martin Luther King Senior Citizens Club.

The $1,000 scholarship, one of two awarded annually by the seniors club, is meant for African-American students. Club members didn’t know Warren is white until he rose to receive the award.

“We just couldn’t believe it at the outset. It was really something. There was a mixed feeling in the crowd,” recalled Etta Brown, chairwoman of the club’s scholarship committee, of the May 22 ceremony.

“People were surprised. Laughter started to come up from crowd,” Warren said. “They still shook my hand, they still said ‘thank you.’”

After some contemplation, Warren and his parents decided to return the scholarship. They sent an email the next day informing the MLK senior citizens club of the decision.

Jeffrey Warren and his mom Frances Warren on graduation night.

“They said they would accept it back. They were very nice about it. They thanked me for being generous and for being a great kid,” Warren told msnbc.com on Tuesday.

“Jeffrey and I wanted them to be happy,” Rod Warren, who teaches language arts at the high school, told the Riverside Press-Enterprise, which first reported on the episode. “The ladies were trying to do something really nice.”

The scholarship application itself stated only that African-Americans were “encouraged” to apply. Warren applied online and apparently never saw a separate letter sent to school counselors specifying that it was for black students.

Some club members felt Jeffrey should be allowed to keep the scholarship, Brown told msnbc.com. “It was a very thoughtful decision between his family and himself that they would not accept it,” she said.

“I think it says a lot for his character and it says a lot of the character for the family,” said King High School Principal Darel Hansen.

“This was not something the school or school district asked him to do. He in our opinion won the award in good faith though there was a mix-up.”

Jeffrey’s scholarship was later awarded to a runner-up -- a female African-American student.

Organizations using private money, like the MLK seniors club, are allowed to set their own eligibility criteria for scholarships they grant.

Brown said the club’s scholarship committee will meet to revise the language on the application to clarify it's for African-American students so there’s no misunderstanding in the future.

Warren won’t be totally lacking in financial help for college. Rod Warren told the Press-Enterprise his son applied for 27 scholarships and also won three others, two for $2,000 each and another $500 scholarship.

Hansen told msnbc.com that since the story made local headlines, several people have contacted the school “asking where they could send a check to make a donation to Jeffrey.”

Several teachers also showed up at his graduation party at his home on Saturday and presented him with an envelope with $351 in cash donations collected from school staff.

Warren said he plans to attend San Diego State University in the fall where he will major in English or business, or both. He says he wants to teach, like his dad.

Brown thinks he has a bright future ahead.

“He’s a really neat student,” Brown said. “He deserved it (the scholarship). Martin Luther King would say he did everything right.”
