If I were you I would advice your dad on reading a bit into Freemasonry and its links to the illuminati.

My dad is very well versed in the history of freemasonry. I helped him accumulate a small library of reference books and material on the subject.

There is plenty of material to cull from regarding the links of the church and actual heinous crimes. Why speculate on mysterious cabals that MAY be planning stuff behind closed doors...when there are plenty of historical and current transgressions by current institutions.

My father and I are quite familiar with a lot of the material and authors you've brought up...we use to listen to Art Bell five nights a week.

And does my dad's snow globe with the masonic "G", ruler and T-square count as occult object? Or maybe my mom's statues of Buddha sitting next to it on the fireplace.

A known fact is that people with violent tendancies are much more likely to play violent videi games. While overconcerned mothers are rapt to blame the video games for making theri "innocent" children sociopaths, to me it seems to make much more sense that people who are pre-disposed to violence are going to be drawn to they games, not that the games make them violent.

I feel the same way about underground brotherhoods. I don't doubt that there are many who are in there groups who would wish an elitist takeover, I think it is people who are already so inclined to such thought who are drawn to these societies, not that the society itself is representative of occultist or elitist thought.

I also agree that it is probably more effective to scrutinize known groups of people who exercise unilateral control over it followers and work on alleviating those problems rather than try to find problems that may or may not even exist.

Just to clarify...I'm not really getting on your case.
These things are fun to speculate...as I mentioned, I use to be really into this stuff.

But ya gotta take a huge grain of salt with alot of these things...like your other apocalyptic post about the anti-christ.

My dad use to be beaten as a child by his parents. They were dead set in believing that the apocalypse was coming any moment (back in the 30's). That Jesus was coming back at any moment to rapture them away.

The church has been instrumental in persecuting masons/similar fratenal orders throughout history. Accusing them of occult and satanic practices, etc. When in actuality the church has been the real cabal commiting heinous attrocities in their fight against suppossedly "satanic" and "occult" groups.

Every several decades throughout history, the church whips up the same ol' hysteria.
